• view-port resize vs document resize in IE

  window.resize event in IE doesnt do what i thought it does. I thought it only triggered when the physical window/view-port changed size (ie user hits maximize on the browser window for example), but it is also triggered if i change the document size, introducing scroll bars. is there any way to tell those two things apart: view port resize, and document resize without writing an elaborate hack?

  VB.Net 2005 I have a now closed Dialog1. To get information from the Dialog1 from within a module I need to use Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = New Dialog1. VB.Net 2008 I have a still open Dialog1. To get information from the Dialog1 from within a module I need to use Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1. VB.Net 2005 does not compile using Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1 and insists on NEW What is going on and why do I need the different initialisation syntax?

  Hey! I just want to know your guys opinion on using join tables within the zend framework. Of course you can use relations by defining a referenceMap and dependentTables and stuff, or using setIntegrityCheck(false) within a db select(). The setIntegrityCheck version seems a little bit dirty to me, but the other version is not very suitable for big querys and joining many tables... I'm a PHP developer for 5 years now and new to the zend framework and just want get a direction for my first project. Thanks!!!

• help with installing clamav for remote apache server vs WAMP localserver

  Hey guys, I have never installed an extension before so I am not really sure where to start. I want to do 2 things: install clamav virus scanner http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-clamav/ on my remote server which is a linux apache setup using cpanel as a gui. install clamav on my localserver on my home computer which operates on windows and has WAMP server installed for server-side activity What is the difference between the two installation methods? • Sql Server Replication: Snapshot vs Merge

  Background information Let's say I have two database servers, both SQL Server 2008. One is in my LAN (ServerLocal), the other one is on a remote hosting environment (ServerRemote). I have created a database on ServerLocal and have an exact copy of that database on ServerRemote. The database on ServerRemote is part of a web application and I would like to keep it's data up-to-date with the data in the database ServerLocal. ServerLocal is able to communicate with ServerRemote, this is one-way traffic. Communication from ServerRemote to ServerLocal isn't available. Current solution I thought it would be a nice solution to use replication. So I've made ServerLocal a publisher and subscriptions are pushed to the ServerRemote. This works fine, when a snapshot is transfered to ServerRemote the existing data will be purged and the ServerRemote database is once again an exact replica of the database on ServerLocal. The problem Records that exist on ServerRemote that don't exist on ServerLocal are removed. This doesn't matter for most of my tables but in some of my tables I'd like to keep the existing data (aspnet_users for instance), and update the records if necessary. What kind of replication fits my problem?

• .NET Performance: Deep Recursion vs Queue

  I'm writing a component that needs to walk large object graphs, sometimes 20-30 levels deep. What is the most performant way of walking the graph? A. Enqueueing "steps" so as to avoid deep recursion or B. A DFS (depth first search) which may step many levels deep and have a "deep" stack trace at times. I guess the question I'm asking is: Is there a performance hit in .NET for doing a DFS that causes a "deep" stack trace? If so, what is the hit? And would I better better off with some BFS by means of queueing up steps that would have been handled recursively in a DFS? Sorry if I'm being unclear. Thanks.

  If i try to read a CSV file called csv_file.csv. The problem is that when i read lines with BufferedReader.readLine() it skips the first line with months. But when i rename the file to csv_file.txt it reads it allright and it's not skipping the first line. Is there an undocumented "feature" of BufferedReader that i'm not aware? • Null Pointer Exception in my BroadcastReceiver class
