I know that in community server which means that you can't use Sessions, and few years ago i remember i was working on a website where we were not allowed to use sessions.
In my point of view sessions are a very helpful tool if we managed how to use the right way, but is using session variable in a website is something bad, when its bad and when its not?
Hello,
So when your using ASP.NET Wizards to create a login, it uses a set of auto generated tables using the aspnet_regsql.exe tool...
When you create a user using the wizard it generates a very long userID

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2688464/ajax-request-from-net-give-me-unexpected-results
and i am using tamper data but i am sure firefox is formatting the data in ways i dont understand. Is there a tool i can use to check firefox post request? and perhaps my C# post request?
I am using libxml2 to parse xml content in my iPhone app. The xml content is downloaded from a server similar to the Apple's own TopSongs sample app. When I check for leaks using the Instruments tool, I see memory leaks being reported on xmlNewParserCtxt, xmlNewInputStream and xmlAllocParserInputBuffer. I have called xmlFreeParserCtxt(context) at applicable places (dealloc).
Am I missing something else ? Is this a known issue to contend with when using libxml2 parsers ?
I am running Windows 8 and have both Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate w/sp1 and Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate and I am trying to create a Portable Class Library that supports .net 3.5 and greater.
When I first try to create a PCL I get a screen like this:
I noticed that .net 3.5 is not in the list so I clicked on "Install additional frameworks" and found a Targeting Pack for version 3.5. But when I download and run "dotnetfx35setup.exe" nothing happens. And when I go back into VS and try to create a new Portable Class Library, it lists the same target frameworks as before.
I have also turned on the Windows Features for .NET Framework 3.5 and am now out of ideas. Here is a screen shot in case I missed something else.
Thanks,
Is it OK to use css optimizers to before to make site live. When we can't to any other server side compression techniques (gzip, combining etc)

I'm looking for a script/tool that can be customized to check and enforce coding/naming conventions on a C/C++ code.
It should check for example:
Code lines are wrapped at some length.
Private variables have prefix _
Code is indented properly.
All functions are documented.
Have a Map which contains objects that I want to keep in sync across multiple servers, such that if objects in the map are created, deleted, or modified - this is reflected immediately (ie. within a second or two) across all servers, in a way that can potentially scale up to tens of servers.
Is there a lightweight open source Java tool that can do something like this? I'm aware of Terracotta but it is rather heavy weight for what I need.
I have a native (unmanaged) C++ application (using wxWidgets for what it's worth). I'm considering a separate tool application to be written in C# which would contain winform-based dialogs. putting some of those dialogs in a separate DLL would be useful as I'd hope to be able to use them from my C++ app.
But I have no idea how much messing about is needed to accomplish this, is it particularly easy?
I'm working an a very large scale projects, where the compilation time is very long. What tools can I use (preferably open source) on Linux, to find the most heavily included files and that optimize their useages?
Just to be clearer, I need a tool which will, given the dependencies, show me which headers are the most included. By the way, we do use distributed compiling
Many tutorials on socket communication I see seem to use 1 thread per socket. But on a server used for online gaming, you might have 10k concurrent users - 10k threads isn't probably a wonderful idea.
I came across a tool (SmartFox) which claims to use a single thread for monitoring all socket connections, potentially thousands of them. This app happens to be in Java, but I figure C++ or C# could do the same... how would you achieve this?
I'm looking for an example of redirecting stdout to a file using Perl. I'm doing a fairly straightforward fork/exec tool, and I want to redirect the child's output to a file instead of the parents stdout.
Is there an equivilant of dup2() I should use? I can't seem to find it
Hi all,
Is there any tool/utility that can help me find how many NATs exist between my home machine and public Internet? Any reference to any protocols that would help me to figure this out would also be useful.
Thanks in advance,
I'm having trouble with this error in php:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in J:\Server\xampplite\htdocs\exp\printact.php on line 172
It might be a lack of bracket or something. Is there any tool that could help me pin point where exactly the error is?
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a simple solution to place a draggable element inside of a box container. When the user begins to interact with the draggable, the draggable element should remain constrained to a circular shape, within the container.
At a complete loss as to how I should accomplish this.
Thank you! :-)
Additional:
Box container would be 100 pixels wide and tall
Draggable would be 20 pixels wide and tall
http://tool-man.org/examples/dragging.html This is on the TODO list, but of course this site is no longer maintained
Hi,
I have an application which runs a tool that requires network connection. Now my aim is to check whether the user has a network connection, if he don't have one, i can straight away display an error without proceeding further. If he has, he can continue working with my application. So my basic need is to check whether the user has a network connection or not. How i can achieve through Qt 4.4? I am using Windows XP.
Hi all
I have winxp with the latest service pack on my old laptop.
I have a situation where I can Ping and status says connected but cannot browse.
I have seen various post on the net proposing solutions that works for some and not for others
I have tried reseting winsock but nothing.
If I vpn to my work then I can browse.
I would like to avoid reformatting the computer and not take such a drastic action.
Any suggestions?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some Vs 2005-2008 Editor Tools like those one in NetBeans or Eclipse that auto insert a close bracket '}' or auto insert a line after an opening bracket '{'.
In general a tool that enhance the Editor. I know that resharper does some of the tricks but it is expensive for me.
There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is
1234: whatev 1
5555: whatev 2
6643: whatev 3
If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.
Hi,
Im writing a tool c# (and System.Net.Mail) which will be sending around 4000 emails fornigtly.
Can i simply loop through a list of 4000 email addresses and send emails one at a time?
or will this cause any potential problems?
Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks
