  • List with items returns empty

    - by Power-Mosfet
    I have created a simple List function but if I Loop through the List it's empty. It should not be! All, thank you for the input. problem solved // List function public class process_hook { public static List<string> pro_hook = list_all_processes(); protected static List<string> list_all_processes() { var list = new List<string>(); foreach (Process i in Process.GetProcesses(".")) { try { foreach (ProcessModule pm in i.Modules) { list.Add(pm.FileName); } } catch { } } return list; } } // call private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (String _list in process_hook.pro_hook) { Console.WriteLine(_list); } }

  • Parse boolean values in strings for use with Function.apply

    - by as3cmdline
    I'm using String.split to parse a command line string into an array of strings. The result is then used to call a function using the Function.apply API. If apply(null, ["17"]) is called with this function: static function test(foo:int):void { trace(foo, typeof(foo)); } it works as expected (output: 17 number). However, calling apply(null, ["false"]) or apply(null, ["0"]) with this function: static function test(foo:Boolean):void { trace(foo, typeof(foo)); } does not work (expected output: false Boolean; actual output: true Boolean). Is there a way to make it recognize "true" and "false" (or anything else) as Boolean values, just like it does with numerical strings? Ideally "true" and "false" should also remain valid string values.

  • Is there a way to have a dynamic google map that opens links in _blank?

    - by danieltalsky
    I came up with a good solution for a client showing a google map iFrame using the normal google maps embed. Only problem? They want the links inside the iFrame to open in a new window instead of there on the page. So, I used the static API to come up with a static image of a map and have that link to the google maps site with target="_blank". Great, but they don't get the pretty draggable map. Is there a way to do what I want using the google maps API? I'm reading the API documentation but without actually trying it I'm not sure if it can be done, and would love it if someone with some experience with the API can point me in the right direction or just tell me why it's WAY not worth the effort.

  • Please explain how Trial Division works for Primality Test

    - by mister_dani
    I came across this algorithm for testing primality through trial division I fully understand this algorithm static boolean isPrime(int N) { if (N < 2) return false; for (int i = 2; i <= Math.sqrt(N); i++) if (N % i == 0) return false; return true; } It works just fine. But then I came across this other one which works just as good but I do not fully understand the logic behind it. static boolean isPrime(int N) { if (N < 2) return false; for (int i = 2; i * i<N; i++) if (N % i == 0) return false; return true; } It seems like i *i < N behaves like i <= Math.sqrt(N). If so, why?

  • aligning extern constants (gcc)

    - by ~buratinas
    I want to make some static constants globally visible. I'm pretty familiar how to do that in C++. The problem is that these constants need to be aligned to some exotic boundary. Do I have to specify the alignment in extern declaration? I'm using GCC4.5 in *.cpp file static const constant_t constant __attribute__((aligned(64))) = {blah,blah,blah}; in *.h file //Which one is correct? extern const constant_t constant; extern const constant_t constant __attribute__((aligned(64)));

  • Generating CMakeLists.txt

    - by vanna
    I got a bunch of C++ sources files and headers. They may use external libraries such as Boost e.g. I am interested in the process of building binaries for Windows and *nix. Makefiles (*nix) and .vcproj (Windows) call compilers with some specifications such as the order of compilation, compilation options and stuff. CMakeLists.txt can be used by CMake to build either makefiles or .vcproj and use very helpful commands such as recursive search of files, automatic linkage with known libraries, installers, variables that can be used in source files... Is there any existing tool that would generate a CMakeLists.txt from specified options ? Options could be like : scan this folder and make a library out of it, then scan this other folder and make an executable and automatically link both with Boost as well along with a user friendly installer with generated INSTALL.txt and README.txt. Something very powerful like that.

  • assembly.GetTypes() does not return all types

    - by meta
    I try to lead the types from an .dll (which is also referenced in the executing project). I call: public static void LoadPlugin(string pluginFile) { Assembly assembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(pluginFile); foreach (Type type in assembly.GetTypes()) { // play with it } } It loads just a few of them: public partial class Mathematics : UserControl, IMathematics, IPortable and public partial class Welcome : UserControl but the next one, and some others, are ignored: public partial class Test : UserControl, ITest, IPortable They all stand in the same assembly, under the same namespace. The public static void LoadPlugin(string pluginFile) method is located in other assembly that is also referenced in the executing project. No exceptions are thrown. What could be the issues for not loading all the types? Any ideas?

  • What pattern is this? php

    - by user151841
    I have several classes that are basically interfaces to database rows. Since the class assumes that a row already exists ( __construct expects a field value ), there is a public static function that allows creation of the row and returns an instance of the class. Here's an example ( without the actual database inserts ): class selfStarter { public $type; public function __construct( $type ) { $this->type = $type; } public static function create( $type ) { if ( ! empty($type) ) { $starter = & new selfStarter($type); return $starter; } } } $obj1 = selfStarter::create( "apple" ); $obj2 = & new selfStarter( "banana" ); What is this pattern called?

  • When debugging in VS 2008 why does the debugger land on a second return statement?

    - by Hellfire
    When debugging the following console program: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine(DoIt(false)); Console.WriteLine(DoIt(true)); } private static Boolean DoIt(Boolean abort) { try { throw new InvalidOperationException(); } catch(Exception ex) { if (abort) { return true; } Console.WriteLine("Got here"); return false; } } } Why does the IDE land on the second return statement during the second call to DoIt()? The results of the execution is correct but the debugging experience is misleading. Is this a known issue? Is the behavior in VS 2010 the same?

  • Catch a generic exception in Java?

    - by Alex Baranosky
    We use JUnit 3 at work and there is no ExpectedException annotation. I wanted to add a utility to our code to wrap this: try { someCode(); fail("some error message"); } catch (SomeSpecificExceptionType ex) { } So I tried this: public static class ExpectedExceptionUtility { public static <T extends Exception> void checkForExpectedException(String message, ExpectedExceptionBlock<T> block) { try { block.exceptionThrowingCode(); fail(message); } catch (T ex) { } } } However, Java cannot use generic exception types in a catch block, I think. How can I do something like this, working around the Java limitation? Is there a way to check that the ex variable is of type T?

  • how to call functions/methods within CMS block or page?

    - by latvian
    Hi, We are trying to make all our blocks and pages static so that designer or anyone else can easily change the content or design of the website, however. There is a feature that uses our own custom module. So, the template that we want to make static is calling methods out of our custom block, for example, <!--some html code--> ..... <?php $this->helpMeBePartOfCMS(); ?> ..... <!--some html code--> How do i incorporate these method calls inside cms block or page? Thank you

  • Dotnetnuke menu custom root

    - by Yobi21
    Is there anyway to use the built-in DNN Menu module to display a menu based at a different root node other than the current tab node? Given the following structure: Page1 -child1_1 -child1_2 Page3 Page2(hidden) -child2_1 -child2_2 In this scenario I will be having 2 menus on this skin. One will be normal navigation based off of the current node and the other will be a set of 'static' links to pages located outside the current node. When on Page1 the normal navigation will show Page1, Page3 and the children of Page1 nested under Page1. The 'static' links will use 'Page2' as their root and will show child2_1 and child2_2.

  • Simple Java math operations

    - by user1730056
    I'm making a BMI calculator that doesn't seem to be working. The math operations work if i just do something like w/h, but once i had the brackets, it returns an error. If i change the variables w and h and use a constant number, the operation works. Another problem is that although i'm making result a double, it seems to be rounding to the nearest int. Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? public class ass10 { public static void main(String[] args) { bmi(223,100); } public static bmi(int w, int h){ double result; result = (w/(h*h))*703 System.out.println(result) } }

  • how to compress a PNG image using Java

    - by 116213060698242344024
    Hi I would like to know if there is any way in Java to reduce the size of an image (use any kind of compression) that was loaded as a BufferedImage and is going to be saved as an PNG. Maybe some sort of png imagewriteparam? I didnt find anything helpful so im stuck. heres a sample how the image is loaded and saved public static BufferedImage load(String imageUrl) { Image image = new ImageIcon(imageUrl).getImage(); bufferedImage = new BufferedImage(image.getWidth(null), image.getHeight(null), BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB); Graphics2D g2D = bufferedImage.createGraphics(); g2D.drawImage(image, 0, 0, null); return bufferedImage; } public static void storeImageAsPng(BufferedImage image, String imageUrl) throws IOException { ImageIO.write(image, "png", new File(imageUrl)); }

  • Java generic function for performing calculations on integer, on double?

    - by Daniel
    Is this possible? Surely if you passed in a double, any sort of function implementation code which casts an object to an Integer would not be able to work unless the cast 'Integer' was specifically used? I have a function like: public static void increment(Object o){ Integer one = (Integer)o; system.out.println(one++); } I cant see how this could be made generic for a double? I tried public static <E> void increment(E obj){ E one = (E)o; system.out.println(one++); } but it didn't like it?

  • How do I convert a number (as a String) to an array of bytes in Java?

    - by user1795595
    I'm creating a method specific method for a java project i'm working on. The UML given specifies the return type to be of static byte[] that accepts the arguments (String, byte) So far, looks like this: public static byte[] convertNumToDigitArray(String number, byte numDigits) { } This method is supposed to convert a number (as a String) to an array of bytes. The ordering must go from most to least significant digits. For example, if the number String is “732” then index 0 of the array should contain 7. The last argument (numDigits) should match the length of the string passed in. How do I do this?

  • Sharing Code, Images and Core Data models across iPhone and Mac project

    - by Robert
    Hi, I am maintaining a fairly large mac project and an iphone client for this project. Some code as well as some images and core data models are shared between these two projects. I want to create a shared framework containing this shared components but to my surprise, frameworks like we cocoa developers known them are not supported on the iphone os. Currently I see the following options: a) Include the files in both projects (much tedious work) b) Create a static library for both projects and manually copying the images/core data models c) Create a static lib for iphone and a framework for mac Any suggestions?

  • Fractional Calculator in Java

    - by user2888881
    I am trying to create a fractional calculator in Java with inputs of mixed fractions, proper fractions, improper fractions or integers. It should include the four basic operators as well. The program should be set up as a loop where it is continuous until the user types "quit". I have coded the beginning loop but have no idea where to go from there. Please help, I am a beginner and would really appreciate it. Thank you again. This is what I have so far: import java.util.*; public class FractionCalculator { private static Scanner input; public static void main(String[] args) { input = new Scanner(System.in); String x = "quit"; System.out.println("Enter a fraction"); while (true) { String y = input.next(); if (y.equals(x)) { break; } } } }

  • Why my java app for android not connect to server?

    - by FredVaz
    Why my java app for android not connect to server ? I run the aplication in android emulator, and the server wich port 9999 and host 127.0.0.1 in my pc, but just not connect and i think this method isn't good for android app. It is my source code: import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.EditText; import android.widget.TextView; //Java imports //import android.util.Log; import java.io.*; import java.net.*; import java.util.*; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; public class MainActivity extends Activity { //Variaveis Interface private Button ligar; private Button enviar; private EditText text1; private TextView text2; //Variaveis static Socket cSocket; static PrintWriter out; static BufferedReader in; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); //Declaração butões ligar = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ligar); enviar = (Button) findViewById(R.id.enviar); text1 = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.text1); text2 = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.text2); //Interacao ligar.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View arg0){ connect(); } }); enviar.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View arg0){ out.println("Hello"); text2.setText(""); } }); } //Outras Funcoes public void connect(){ //Funcao ligar cSocket = null; out = null; in = null; try { cSocket = new Socket("127.0.0.1",9999); out = new PrintWriter(cSocket.getOutputStream(), true); in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(cSocket.getInputStream())); text2.setText("Estas conectado com sucesso."); } catch (IOException ex) { //Logger.getLogger(client.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); text2.setText("Erro! • Singleton pattern with Web application, Not a good idea!!

    - by Tony
    Hi I found something funny, I notice it by luck while I was debugging other thing. I was applying MCP pattern and I made a singleton controller to be shared among all presentations. Suddenly I figured out that some event is called once at first postback, twice if there is two postback, 100 times if there is 100 postbacks. because Singleton is based on a static variable which hold the instance, and the static variable live across postbacks, and I wired the event assuming that it will be wired once, and rewired for each postback. I think we should think twice before applying a singleton in a web application, or I miss something?? thanks

  • Special simple random number generator

    - by psihodelia
    How to create a function, which on every call generates a random integer number? This number must be most random as possible (according to uniform distribution). It is only allowed to use one static variable and at most 3 elementary steps, where each step consists of only one basic arithmetic operation of arity 1 or 2. Example: int myrandom(void){ static int x; x = some_step1; x = some_step2; x = some_step3; return x; } Basic arithmetic operations are +,-,%,and, not, xor, or, left shift, right shift, multiplication and division. Of course, no rand(), random() or similar staff is allowed.

  • How to code the set method of a Map with another Map as value?

    - by Nazgulled
    I normally do this to set a new Map to a private variable: public static void setListaClausulas(Map<String, Clausula> nvLista) { listaClausulas = new TreeMap<String, Clausula>(nvLista); } I suppose this is ok to set a new copy of the nvLista and all it's members and not a reference, is it? But now I have a Map inside another Map and I'm doing this: public static void setListaClausulas(Map<String, Map<String, Clausula>> nvLista) { listaClausulas = new TreeMap<String, Map<String, Clausula>>(nvLista); } Is this the correct way to do it or do you recommend something else? What I want is to set a new copy of nvLista (and all it's elements) and not copy just the reference.
