  • Read/Modify PDF Metadata using iTextSharp

    - by muruge
Hello, I am trying to use iTextSharp to read/modify PDF metadata. I figured out how to do it using pdfreader and pdfstamper. I was wondering if I could also read/modify additional metadata information like copyright information and few others within the XMP photoshop namespace. I would greatly appreciate any pointers to the solution. Thank you, Murugesh.

  • Flash Player 10.1 crash on shared object access

    - by Simon
Hi all, since updating my Flash Player plugin from 10 to 10.1, I'm seeing a weird crash when accessing shared objects. Flex Builder's debugger pops up and prints a stack trace like this: undefined at flash.net::SharedObject$/getLocal() at my.code::MyClass$/load()[/my/path/to/my/MyClass.as:27] (...) This happens when calling SharedObject.getLocal("someString") for the second time for the same string, though it doesn't always crash. When using another browser on the same machine (not configured as the preferred debugging browser in Flex Builder), Flash Player remains silent. The code is wrapped in a try/catch(Error) block which does not catch this error. I'm using Flex SDK 3.5 and Flex Builder 3 on Mac OS X 10.6.3. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks, Simon

  • Objective C ASIHTTPRequest nested GCD block in complete block

    - by T.Leavy
I was wondering if this is the correct way to have nested blocks working on the same variable in Objective C without causing any memory problems or crashes with ARC. It starts with a ASIHttpRequest complete block. MyObject *object = [dataSet objectAtIndex:i]; ASIHTTPRequest *request = [[ASIHTTPRequest alloc]initWithURL:@"FOO"]; __block MyObject *mutableObject = object; [request setCompleteBlock:^{ mutableObject.data = request.responseData; __block MyObject *gcdMutableObject = mutableObject; dispatch_async(dispatch_get_global_queue(DISPATCH_QUEUE_PRIORITY_DEFAULT,0),^{ [gcdMutableObject doLongComputation]; dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(),^{ [self updateGUIWithObject:gcdMutableObject]; }); }); [request startAsynchronous]; My main concern is nesting the dispatch queues and using the __block version of the previous queue to access data. Is what I am doing safe?

  • How can I change the images on an ImageButton in Android when using a OnTouchListener?

    - by Cody
I have the following code which creates an ImageButton and plays a sound when clicked: ImageButton SoundButton1 = (ImageButton)findViewById(R.id.sound1); SoundButton1.setImageResource(R.drawable.my_button); SoundButton1.setOnTouchListener(new OnTouchListener() { public boolean onTouch(View v, MotionEvent event) { if (event.getAction() == MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN ) { mSoundManager.playSound(1); return true; } return false; } }); The problem is that I want the image on the ImageButton to change when you press it. The OnTouchListener appears to be overriding the touch and not allowing the images to change. As soon as I remove the OnTouchListener, the ImageButton swaps to a different image when pressed. Any ideas on how I can have the images change on the ImageButton while still using the OnTouchListener? Thank you very much!

  • Silverlight 4 OOB application access HTML DOM of the page in WebBrowser control

    - by Mike Weerasinghe
Does anybody know if it is possible to access and manipulate an element in the html page that is rendered by the Silverlight 4 WebBrowser control. The scenario is like this. The user launches a Silverlight OOB application with elevated trust. The user manipulates some data in the application but must submit part of the data to an external web site. If I open the external site in a WebBrowser control, is there any way I can assist the user by pre filling some information in the external sites' web form via programmatic access to the DOM?

  • WPF: Is it possible to add or modify bindings via styles or something similar?

    - by Eamon Nerbonne
I'm still learning the WPF ropes, so if the following question is trivial or my approach wrong-headed, please do speak up... I'm trying to reduce boilerplate and it sounds like styles are a common way to do so. In particular: I've got a bunch of fairly mundane data-entry fields. The controls for these fields have various properties I'd like to set based on the target of the binding - pretty normal stuff. However, I'd also like to set properties of the binding itself in the style to avoid repetitiveness. For example: <TextBox Style="{StaticResource myStyle}"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Path="..." Source="..." ValidatesOnDataErrors="True" ValidatesOnExceptions="True" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged"> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> Now, is there any way to use styling - or some other technique to write the previous example somewhat like this: <TextBox Style="{StaticResource myStyle}" Text="{Binding Source=... Path=...}/> That is, is there any way to set all bindings that match a particular selection (here, on controls with the myStyle style) to validate data and to use a particular update trigger? Is it possible to template or style bindings themselves? Alternatively, is it possible to add the binding in the style itself? Clearly, the second syntax is much, much shorter and more readable, and I'd love to be able to get rid of other similar boilerplate to keep my UI code comprehensible to myself :-).

  • SSRS Report from Oracle DB - Use stored procedure

    - by Emtucifor
I am developing a report in Sql Server Reporting Services 2005, connecting to an Oracle 11g database. As you post replies perhaps it will help to know that I'm skilled in MSSQL Server and inexperienced in Oracle. I have multiple nested subreports and need to use summary data in outer reports and the same data but in detail in the inner reports. In order to spare the DB server from multiple executions, I thought to populate some temp tables at the beginning and then query just them the multiple times in the report and the subreports. In SSRS, Datasets are evidently executed in the order they appear in the RDL file. And you can have a dataset that doesn't return a rowset. So I created a stored procedure to populate my four temp tables and made this the first Dataset in my report. This SP works when I run it from SQLDeveloper and I can query the data from the temp tables. However, this didn't appear to work out because SSRS was apparently not reusing the same session, so even though the global temporary tables were created with ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS my Datasets were empty. I switched to using "real" tables and am now passing in an additional parameter, a GUID in string form, uniquely generated on each new execution, that is part of the primary key of each table, so I can get back just the rows for this execution. Running this from Sql Developer works fine, example: DECLARE ActivityCode varchar2(15) := '1208-0916 '; ExecutionID varchar2(32) := SYS_GUID(); BEGIN CIPProjectBudget (ActivityCode, ExecutionID); END; Never mind that in this example I don't know the GUID, this simply proves it works because rows are inserted to my four tables. But in the SSRS report, I'm still getting no rows in my Datasets and SQL Developer confirms no rows are being inserted. So I'm thinking along the lines of: Oracle uses implicit transactions and my changes aren't getting committed? Even though I can prove that the non-rowset returning SP is executing (because if I leave out the parameter mapping it complains at report rendering time about not having enough parameters) perhaps it's not really executing. Somehow. Wrong execution order isn't the problem or rows would appear in the tables, and they aren't. I'm interested in any ideas about how to accomplish this (especially the part about not running the main queries multiple times). I'll redesign my whole report. I'll stop using a stored procedure. Suggest anything you like! I just need help getting this working and I am stuck. If you want more details, in my SSRS report I have a List object (it's a container that repeats once for each row in a Dataset) that has some header values and then contains a subreport. Eventually, there will be four total reports: one main report, with three nested subreports. Each subreport will be in a List on the parent report.

  • Android ListView style

    - by xger86x
Hi, I have a question about list views. I hope someone knows the solution, because I have been trying to solve this problem all weekend. I have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is that when I try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, the typical orange rectangle should appear over it, and the same When the item is pressed. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all I get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so I can't see it. If anyone could help me with finding the right code I would be very grateful. Thanks

  • NHibernate HiLo - new column per entity and HiLo catches

    - by Gareth
    Im currently using the hilo id generator for my classes but have just been using the minimal of settings eg <class name="ClassA" <id name="Id" column="id" unsaved-value="0" <generator class="hilo" / </id ... But should I really be specifying a new column for NHibernate to use foreach entity and providing it with a max lo? <class name="ClassA" <id name="Id" column="id" unsaved-value="0" <generator class="hilo" <param name="table"hibernate_unique_key</param <param name="column"classA_nexthi</param <param name="max_lo"20</param </generator </id ... <class name="ClassB" <id name="Id" column="id" unsaved-value="0" <generator class="hilo" <param name="table"hibernate_unique_key</param <param name="column"classB_nexthi</param <param name="max_lo"20</param </generator </id ... Also I've noticed that when I do the above the SchemaExport will not create all the columns - only classB_nexthi, is there something else im doing wrong. Thanks

  • Winforms TabControl causing spurious Paint events for UserControl

    - by Tom Bushell
For our project, we've written a WinForms UserControl for graphing. We're seeing some strange behavior when our control is sited in a TabControl - our control continuously fires Paint events, even when there is absolutely no activity by the user. We only see this in the TabControl. When we site our control in other containers such as Forms or Splitters, Paint is only fired when you'd expect e.g. when the control is first displayed, etc. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening? Here's a stack trace from a breakpoint in our control's Paint handler, if that's any help. • [R] Merge multiple data frames - Error in match.names(clabs, names(xi)) : names do not match previou

    - by Jasmine
    Hi all- I'm getting some really bizarre stuff while trying to merge multiple data frames. Help! I need to merge a bunch of data frames by the columns 'RID' and 'VISCODE'. Here is an example of what it looks like: d1 = data.frame(ID = sample(9, 1:100), RID = c(2, 5, 7, 9, 12), VISCODE = rep('bl', 5), value1 = rep(16, 5)) d2 = data.frame(ID = sample(9, 1:100), RID = c(2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 5, 7, 7, 7), VISCODE = rep(c('bl', 'm06', 'm12'), 3), value2 = rep(100, 9)) d3 = data.frame(ID = sample(9, 1:100), RID = c(2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 5, 9,9,9), VISCODE = rep(c('bl', 'm06', 'm12'), 3), value3 = rep("a", 9), values3.5 = rep("c", 9)) d4 = data.frame(ID =sample(8, 1:100), RID = c(2, 2, 5, 5, 5, 7, 7, 7, 9), VISCODE = c(c('bl', 'm12'), rep(c('bl', 'm06', 'm12'), 2), 'bl'), value4 = rep("b", 9)) dataList = list(d1, d2, d3, d4) I looked at the answers to the question titled "Merge several data.frames into one data.frame with a loop." I used the reduce method suggested there as well as a loop I wrote: try1 = mymerge(dataList) try2 <- Reduce(function(x, y) merge(x, y, all= TRUE, by=c("RID", "VISCODE")), dataList, accumulate=F) where dataList is a list of data frames and mymerge is: mymerge = function(dataList){ L = length(dataList) mdat = dataList[[1]] for(i in 2:L){ mdat = merge(mdat, dataList[[i]], by.x = c("RID", "VISCODE"), by.y = c("RID", "VISCODE"), all = TRUE) } mdat } For my test data and subsets of my real data, both of these work fine and produce exactly the same results. However, when I use larger subsets of my data, they both break down and give me the following error: Error in match.names(clabs, names(xi)) : names do not match previous names. The really weird thing is that using this works: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:47, ]) And using this fails: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:48, ]) As far as I can tell, there is nothing special about row 48 of faq. Likewise, using this works: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], pdx[1:47, ]) And using this fails: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], pdx[1:48, ]) Row 48 in faq and row 48 in pdx have the same values for RID and VISCODE, the same value for EXAMDATE (something I'm not matching on) and different values for ID (another thing I'm not matching on). Besides the matching RID and VISCODE, I see anything special about them. They don't share any other variable names. This same scenario occurs elsewhere in the data without problems. To add icing on the complication cake, this doesn't even work: dataList = list(demog[1:50,], neurobat[1:50,], apoe[1:50,], mmse[1:50,], faq[1:48, 2:3]) where columns 2 and 3 are "RID" and "VISCODE". 48 isn't even the magic number because this works: dataList = list(demog[1:500,], neurobat[1:500,], apoe[1:500,], mmse[1:457,]) while using mmse[1:458, ] fails. I can't seem to come up with test data that causes the problem. Has anyone had this problem before? Any better ideas on how to merge? Thanks for your help! Jasmine

  • Redirect logging output using custom logging handler

    - by mridang
Hi Guys, I'm using a module in my python app that writes a lot a of messages using the logging module. Initially I was using this in a console application and it was pretty easy to get the logging output to display on the console using a console handler. Now I've developed a GUI version of my app using wxPython and I'd like to display all the logging output to a custom control — a multi-line textCtrl. Is there a way i could create a custom logging handler so i can redirect all the logging output there and display the logging messages wherever/however I want — in this case, a wxPython app. Thanks

    - by Thomas
Hi all, i know it's been asked before but i cant get it to run and i'm out of things to try. So i want to colorize a row in a Grid if its value is not 1 - i use a custom formatter for this. The formatter itself works, thats not the problem. I've tried multple ways I've found so far on the web - adding a class, directly adding css code, using setRowData, using setCell.... Here are my examples - none of them worked for me (linux, ff363) - any pointer would be gratly appreciated. 27.05.2010_00:00:00-27.05.2010_00:00:00 is my row id <style> .state_inactive { background-color: red !important; } .state_active { background-color: green !important; } </style> function format_state (cellvalue, options, rowObject) { var elem='#'+options.gid; if (cellvalue != 1) { jQuery('#list2').setRowData(options.rowID,'', {'background-color':'#FF6F6F'}); jQuery('#list2').setRowData('27.05.2010_00:00:00-27.05.2010_00:00:00', '',{'background-color':'#FF6F6F'}); for (var cnt=0;cnt<rowObject.length;cnt=cnt+1) { jQuery(elem).setCell(options.rowId,cnt,'','state_inactive',''); jQuery(elem).setCell('"'+options.rowId+'"',cnt,'','state_inactive'); jQuery(elem).setCell('"'+options.rowId+'"',cnt,'5', {'background-color':'#FF6F6F'},''); } } else { for (var cnt=0;cnt<rowObject.length;cnt=cnt+1) { jQuery(elem).setCell(options.rowId,cnt,'','state_active',''); } } <!-- dont modify, we simply added the class above--> return cellvalue; } Thanks, Thomas

  • Creating .NET 3.0 sub-applications within .NET 1.1 applications in IIS/ASP.Net

    - by Karen
I am basically trying to do the same thing as this question, create a new application within a folder so it could be accessed as follows. * http://www.domain.com/ < Main App * http://www.domain.com/newapp < New App The problem is that newapp is reading the web.config from the Main App, which is causing errors because it doesn't have all the same dlls etc. For New App, in IIS, the starting point is set at /newapp, so I am not sure why it is reading the web.config from / at all. It is set as it's own application. I am testing this in IIS6 on XP Pro, so not sure if that makes a difference. The Main App is dotnet 1.1, and New App is 3.0. Edit: Adding 'inheritInChildApplications to <location doesn't work in 1.1, you get an error: Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'inheritInChildApplications'

  • Where do all the old programmers go?

    - by Tony Lambert
I know some people move over to management and some die... but where do the rest go and why? One reason people change to management is that in some companies the "Programmer" career path is very short - you can get to be a senior programmer within a few years. Leaving no way to get more money but to become a manager. In other companies project managers and programmers are parallel career paths so your project manager can be your junior. Tony

  • In my WCF service with IXmlSerializable class, I get ArrayOfXElement[] instead of ObservableCollecti

    - by Scott
I have an existing class (I didn't write) that implements IXmlSerializable. I decided to create a WCF service so my Silverlight application could access this class. I return the class as List. In the generated proxy, instead of an ObservableCollection like I'm expecting, I get ArrayOfXElement[]. If I remove the IXmlSerializable attribute, I get an the ObservableCollection. I don't quite understand what is happening, but I just want my SL app to receive an ObservableCollection. Is my only choice to create a DTO class and send back a list of those? Any advice?

  • How to populate a generic list of objects in C# from SQL database

    - by developr
I am just learning ASP.NET c# and trying to incorporate best practices into my applications. Everything that I read says to layer my applications into DAL, BLL, UI, etc based on separation of concerns. Instead of passing datatables around, I am thinking about using custom objects so that I am loosely coupled to my data layer and can take advantage of intellisense in VS. I assume these objects would be considered DTOs? First, where do these objects reside in my layers? BLL, DAL, other? Second, when populating from SQL, should I loop through a data reader to populate the list or first fill a data table, then loop through the table to populate the list? I know you should close the database connection as soon as possible, but it seems like even more overhead to populate the data table and then loop through that for the list. Third, everything I see these days says use Linq2SQL. I am planning to learn Linq2SQL, but at this time I am working with a legacy database that doesn't have foreign keys setup and I do not have the ability to fix it atm. Also, I want to learn more about c# before I start getting into ORM solutions like nHibernate. At the same time I don't want to type out all the connection and SQL plumbing for every query. Is it ok to use the Enterprise DAAB for now?

  • SetWindowLong in CustomDraw causes unhandled exception

    - by neeul
    Hello, I am making some changes to a CSliderCtrl using the Custom Draw, the control is to be used in a dialog. Here is the structure: In my MessageMap I have : ON_NOTIFY_REFLECT_EX(NM_CUSTOMDRAW, OnNMCustomdraw) The OnNMCustomdraw method looks like the following: BOOL CCustomSliderCtrl::OnNMCustomdraw(NMHDR *pNMHDR, LRESULT *pResult) { *pResult = CDRF_DODEFAULT; LPNMCUSTOMDRAW pNMCD = reinterpret_cast<LPNMCUSTOMDRAW>(pNMHDR); switch(pNMCD->dwDrawStage) { case CDDS_PREPAINT: { //Dialogs don't receive CDRF_NOTIFYITEMDRAW notifcations by returning it as part of pResult, we must //use the following so we ensure we receive the msg SetWindowLong(pNMHDR->hwndFrom, DWL_MSGRESULT, CDRF_NOTIFYITEMDRAW); return TRUE; } case CDDS_ITEMPREPAINT: if(pNMCD->dwItemSpec == TBCD_CHANNEL) { ...SNIP... SetWindowLong(pNMHDR->hwndFrom, DWL_MSGRESULT, CDRF_SKIPDEFAULT); return TRUE; } } return FALSE; } Reading around I learnt that you had to use SetWindowLong to set the return value for the custom draw, otherwise your method will not always receive the CDDS_ITEMPREPAINT message. However, when using SetWindowLong my application will never receive the CDDS_ITEMPREPAINT and so my slider just looks like a standard slider. The application crashes when any sort of interaction takes place upon the slider, such as hovering over it or minimizing and maximizing the dialog. I snipped the TBCD_CHANNEL code as it is never reached. When running in debug mode, it crashes at the end of the AfxUnlockGlobals method, in afxcrit.cpp. Here is a stack trace: Update: Since adding debug symbols, the crash seems to be picked up at CWnd::DefWindowProc mwthod. comctl32.dll!_TrackBarWndProc@16() + 0x551 bytes user32.dll!_InternalCallWinProc@20() + 0x28 bytes user32.dll!_UserCallWinProcCheckWow@32() + 0xb7 bytes user32.dll!_CallWindowProcAorW@24() + 0x51 bytes user32.dll!_CallWindowProcW@20() + 0x1b bytes mfc90ud.dll!CWnd::DefWindowProcW(unsigned int nMsg=15, unsigned int wParam=0, long lParam=0) Line 1043 + 0x20 bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!CWnd::WindowProc(unsigned int message=15, unsigned int wParam=0, long lParam=0) Line 1756 + 0x1c bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!AfxCallWndProc(CWnd * pWnd=0x0012fdbc, HWND__ * hWnd=0x000308fe, unsigned int nMsg=15, unsigned int wParam=0, long lParam=0) Line 240 + 0x1c bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!AfxWndProc(HWND__ * hWnd=0x000308fe, unsigned int nMsg=15, unsigned int wParam=0, long lParam=0) Line 403 C++ mfc90ud.dll!AfxWndProcBase(HWND__ * hWnd=0x000308fe, unsigned int nMsg=15, unsigned int wParam=0, long lParam=0) Line 441 + 0x15 bytes C++ user32.dll!_InternalCallWinProc@20() + 0x28 bytes user32.dll!_UserCallWinProcCheckWow@32() + 0xb7 bytes user32.dll!_DispatchClientMessage@20() + 0x4d bytes user32.dll!___fnDWORD@4() + 0x24 bytes ntdll.dll!_KiUserCallbackDispatcher@12() + 0x13 bytes user32.dll!_NtUserDispatchMessage@4() + 0xc bytes user32.dll!_DispatchMessageW@4() + 0xf bytes mfc90ud.dll!AfxInternalPumpMessage() Line 183 C++ mfc90ud.dll!CWinThread::PumpMessage() Line 900 C++ mfc90ud.dll!AfxPumpMessage() Line 190 + 0xd bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!CWnd::RunModalLoop(unsigned long dwFlags=4) Line 4386 + 0x5 bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!CDialog::DoModal() Line 584 + 0xc bytes C++ SetSelection.exe!CSetSelectionApp::InitInstance() Line 64 + 0xb bytes C++ mfc90ud.dll!AfxWinMain(HINSTANCE__ * hInstance=0x00400000, HINSTANCE__ * hPrevInstance=0x00000000, wchar_t * lpCmdLine=0x00020a84, int nCmdShow=1) Line 37 + 0xd bytes C++ SetSelection.exe!wWinMain(HINSTANCE__ * hInstance=0x00400000, HINSTANCE__ * hPrevInstance=0x00000000, wchar_t * lpCmdLine=0x00020a84, int nCmdShow=1) Line 34 C++ SetSelection.exe!__tmainCRTStartup() Line 578 + 0x35 bytes C SetSelection.exe!wWinMainCRTStartup() Line 403 C kernel32.dll!_BaseProcessStart@4() + 0x23 bytes So, does anyone have any insight into this matter?
