    I'm trying to install MySql interface for python,but I got an error(mentioned below).And I know the solution,install the Microsoft Visual C++.So what my question is there any alternative solution apart from installing Microsoft Visual C++,I mean it's really hurt me,why should I install Microsoft Visual C++ just because to build this single package it's a useless and time wasting approach from the developers perspective.So I kindly request from all of you please mention if you have any alternative solution for this issue.   • mongodb: insert if not exists

    Hello, Every day, I receive a stock of documents (an update). What I want to do is inserting each of them if it does not exists. I also want to keep track of the first time I inserted them, and the last time I saw them in an update. I don't want to have duplicate documents. I don't want to remove a document which has previously been saved, but is not in my update. 95% (estimated) of the records are unmodified from day to day. I am using the python driver (pymongo), for that matter. What I currently do is (pseudo-code): for each document in update: existing_document = collection.find_one(document) if not existing_document: document['insertion_date'] = now else: document = existing_document document['last_update_date'] = now my_collection.save(document) My problem is that it is very slow (40 mins for less than 100 000 records, and I have millions of them in the update). I am pretty sure there is something builtin for doing this, but the document for update() is mmmhhh.... a bit terse....     In VS2008, it used to be that whenever I was typing an html attribute in an .aspx page when I hit '=' a pair of double quotes was automatically inserted and the cursor placed inside them. I guess I've changed a setting, but I don't know what to change to get that functionality back. I am using Resharper if it makes a difference.

I have my table like this Product (uuid, Name) and one datagridview to display this information ( dataGridView.DataSouce = Products which is assign on runtime) My problem is that I want to have "No" column on dataGridView which will show like below No | Name 1 | ProdctA 2 | ProductB 3 | ProductC What I do right now is create a "No" field on my product Model, and loop through all the row and assign value to it.     I'm using JavaFX integrated HTMLEditor. All the functions that it has are fine but I need to have also the function of inserting an image inside the HTML text. Do you know some source which I could use? Or some other HTML (WYSIWYG) editor that could be used inside JavaFX and it has this functionality ?     At some point in my Application, I have an NSArray whose contents change. Those contents are shown in a UITableView. I'm trying to find a way to find the diff between the contents of before and after of the NSArray so i can pass the correct indexPaths to insertRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation: and deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation: in order to have the changes nicely animated.   • Bulk Copy from one server to another

    Hi All, I've one situation where I need to copy part of the data from one server to another. The table schema are exactly same. I need to move partial data from the source, which may or may not be available in the destination table. The solution I'm thinking is, use bcp to export data to a text(or .dat) file and then take that file to the destination as both are not accessible at the same time (Different network), then import the data to the destination. There are some conditions I need to satisfy. 1. I need to export only a list of data from the table, not whole. My client is going to give me IDs which needs to be moved from source to destination. I've around 3000 records in the master table, and same in the child tables too. What I expect is, only 300 records to be moved. 2. If the record exists in the destination, the client is going to instruct as whether to ignore or overwrite case to case. 90% of the time, we need to ignore the records without overwriting, but log the records in a log file. Please help me with the best approach. I thought of using BCP with query option to filter the data, but while importing, how do I bypass inserting the existing records? If I need to overwrite, how to do it? Thanks a lot in advance. ~Joseph

  • Returning to last viewed List page after insert/edit with ASP.NET Dynamic Data

    With a pretty standard Dynamic Data site, when the user edits or inserts a new item and saves, the page does a Response.Redirect(table.ListActionPath), which takes the user back to page 1 of the table. If they were editing an item on page 10 (or whatever) and want to edit the next item on that page, they have to remember the page number and navigate back to it. What's the best way to return the user to the list page they last viewed? I can conceive of some solutions using cookies, session state, or query string values to retain this state and making my own Page Template to incorporate it, but I can't help thinking this must be something that was considered when Dynamic Data was created, and there must be something simpler or built-in to the framework that I'm missing here.

  • Fastest distance lookup given latitude/longitude?

    I currently have just under a million locations in a mysql database all with longitude and latitude information. With this I use another lat/lng to find the distance of certain places in the database but it's not as fast as I want it to be especially with 100+ hits a second. Is there a faster formula or possibly a faster system other than mysql for this? The formula I'm using is this. select name, ( 3959 * acos( cos( radians(42.290763) ) * cos( radians( locations.lat ) ) * cos( radians( locations.lng ) - radians(-71.35368) ) + sin( radians(42.290763) ) * sin( radians( locations.lat ) ) ) ) AS distance from locations where active = 1 HAVING distance < 10 ORDER BY distance;

  • Multithreading/Parallel Processing in PHP

    I have a PHP script that will generate a report using PHPExcel from data queried from a MySQL DB. Currently, it is linear in processing in that it gets the data back from MySQL, reads in the Excel template, writes the data to the template, then outputs it. I have optimized the code to the point that the data is only iterated over once, and there is very little processing done on the PHP side. The query returns hundreds of lines in less than .001 seconds, so it is running fast enough. After some timing I have found my bottlenecks to be (surprise, surprise) reading the template and writing the output. I would like to do this: Spawn a thread/process to read the template Spawn a thread/process to fetch the data Return back to parent thread - Parent thread will wait until both are complete Proceed on as normal My main questions are is this possible, is it worth it? If yes to both, how would you tackle it? Also, it is PHP 5 on CentOS

    Okay, so I'm learning php, html, and mysql to learn website development (for fun). One thing I still don't get is how to use md5 of sha1 hashes. I know how to hash the plain text, but say I want to make a login page. Since the password is hashed and can't be reversed, how would mysql know that the user-inserted password matches the hashed password in the database? Here is what I mean: $password = md5($_POST['password']); $query = ("INSERT INTO `users`.`data` (`password`) VALUES ('$password')"); I know that this snippet of script hashes the password, but how would I use this piece of code and make a login page? Any working examples would be great.

    Hi, I'm having some trouble getting pictures inside a tablelayout...actually, each I have 2 columns and when i put a picture in a cell of the table, it's completely streched and disproportionnated...I can't find how to make it stay it's original inside the cell and let the rest of the space filled by white background for instance....     I am dividing a semester's worth of lectures via the \lecture command. I'd like to have in the footline (among other things) the lecture number, date, and page number of the current lecture. I would also like to use the default style footline, with the black box on the left and the blue on the right. So I define a lecture with e.g. \lecture{January 28, 2010}{lecture01} with \title[Lecture \insertlecturenumber{}(\insertlecture)\quad{}Page \insertframenumber]{Course Title} in the preamble, I get an error; it will not accept \insertlecture there. If I remove \insertlecture, it does what I want, except that the page number is counted from the start of the semester, not the lecture. Is there any way to do this? Thank you. Liam

I know that there is some way to say \something{FOO} and the FOO reference appears here.     What are your experiences using Amazons EBS snapshot features for MySql hot backups. I have a database running a batch processing job in ec2. I backup with EBS snapshot. So far the backups looks consistent. But I am afraid they "will stop being consistent as soon as I stop checking" (Uncertainty principle). What are your experiences with backuping relational databases (and mysql in particular) with ebs snapshot?
