• Monitoring XHR requests on Chrome in Linux

  Is there a way to monitor AJAX requests in the Chrome browser? I tried firebug lite, and though it seems to work for some things (javascript errors and such), the XHR tab doesn't seem to do anything. Are there any alternatives?

  Hi. I have a process where one of the things to do is to capture the output from a print into a file for further processing. For this I have configured a "FILE:" printer port which works very nicely but asks everytime for the file name to use. Unfortunately "FILE" is not a very descriptive word when trying to use a search engine :( Is there a small driver somewhere which does exactly the same as the FILE: driver, but can automatically generate a filename (perhaps based on a pattern) and just print to that?

I've seen examples in latex for things like \principaladvisor{} but that seems to be done with the thesis class. I'm guessing with the article class I'd list the advisor as a co-author or something. I want to make a copy of it, and tried the following: @b = dclone(\@a) but then when I try to read one of the scalar values from b, I get nothing back. Everything appears to work when I copy it this way, though: @b = @{dclone(\@a)} What is the reason?

  Im using jquery for various things on my site, but one thing im not sure how to do, is have it show an element, then wait X seconds, and hide the element. $('#form').ajaxForm(function() { $('#cartcontents').fadeOut("fast").load('cart.php').fadeIn("fast"); }); That's the JavaScript that I'm using now. How could I have it (when the form submits) display the div #notice for 5 seconds, then fadeOut?

• How do I get jquery & mootools to play nice?

  I've been using Mootools 1.2.4 as my JS framework of choice. I've added Checkout by Amazon to one of my pages, and they inject jQuery 1.2.6 into the page and messes up my dollar function (among other things). I have control over Mootools, but not jQuery. I would rather not rewrite my existing code to accomodate jQuery since Checkout by Amazon was an afterthought and plug-in element. Any thoughts or suggestions are recommended. Thanks!

• htaccess Rewriterule to make one query part of another

I know must redirect rules go the other way but for the purpose of the applciation I need to reverse it. Any ideas? I have tried things like: RedirectRule ^embed\?t\=([a-zA-Z0-9]+)$ /page/embed/$1 but with no luck.

• When Something Occurs in a BackgroundWorker, Trigger Code on a Different Thread?

  I have a background worker that runs and looks for stuff, and when it finds stuff, I want to update my main WinForm. The issue that I'm having is that when I try to update my WinForm from my background worker, I get errors that tell me I can't modify things that were made outside of my background worker (in other words, everything in my form).
