    I'm using 64-bit TortoiseSVN on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. Every so often a checkout or update will fail with an error message like the following: Error: Can't move Error: '[...]\\.svn\tmp\entries' Error: to Error: '[...]\\.svn\entries': Error: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. then CHKDSK runs after reboot, which makes me nervous. Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can avoid it?

    I'm dealing with a server running SQL Server 2000 SP1, and the logical filenames for one of the databases appear to contain trailing spaces. That is, this query: select replace(name, ' ', 'X') from sysfiles Returns the expected names plus a long string of Xs. How can I deal with this? I've tried running ALTER DATABASE... MODIFY FILE using the name (with and without spaces) and get an error message telling me the file does not exist.

    I have installed and configured policyd 2.0.8 according to INSTALL document in installation directory. My webui works fine, no problem reported in logs. And then I setup some quotas on Default policy. Quota: - Policy: Default - Name: Sending quota - Track: SenderIP:/24 - Period: 3600 - Verdict: REJECT - Data: - Disabled: no Limits: - Type: Message count - Counter limit: 2 - Disabled: no But, problem is that I'm still able to send as manu messages as I want. Perhaps I missing something?

    I am trying to get postfix working, and when I test it using mail user I enter the subject, message, ect and get the following error: mail: /usr/sbin/sendmail: No such file or directory Can't send mail: sendmail process failed Why is it talking about sendmail? I deleted that a long time ago and am using postfix. Is it still hanging around somewhere and the mail command thinks it should be using sendmail?

  • How to create a service running a .bat file on Windows 2008 Server?

    I've created the service using sc create myService binpath=myservice.bat But when I start it, it fails with the following error message: [SC] StartService FAILED 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. On Win2k3 I used the srvany.exe from the Resource kit, but there's no resource kit for win2k8. For the time being I've installed the srvany.exe on my machine, but I don't think that's the best way to do it. Thanks!

  • Password Won't Work after Crash

    My Win 7 computer locked up, so I shut it down (holding down the power button till it shut off). Logging back on, I got an error message that it couldn't load my profile (like I'm entering the wrong password). I logged on the guest account, but can't change anything because it won't accept my password. Is this a serious problem or do I just need to reset the password with one of the options available on your site?

  • configuring slime in emacs

    I am in the process of configuring slime for emacs. So far I have read about basic functionality for common lisp such as C-c C-q which invokes the command slime-close-parens-at-point which places the proper number of parens where your mouse is. Another command that seemed cool was invoked by C-c C-c and it would pass the code you are editing in a buffer to the REPL, and "compile" it. Why won't these commands work for me? Anyway, I have downloaded slime via M-x list-packages and do not seem to have this functionality (C-h w and then any of these commands tells me that these commands do note exist). So, I saw a bunch of other slime extensions such as slime-repl', 'slime-fuzzy' and 'hippie-expand-slime'. So I again usedM-x list-packages` and downloaded them. Still I did not have these commands.   • Virtualbox alert on screen changes

    I'm using Debian GNU/Linux + awesome. Inside it I use virtualbox with ms windows. Most time I spend in Linux, however I constantly need to monitor if something new happens in the guest system. Is there any way to make virtualbox alerting about any changes on guest screen (clock is disabled, therefore only new mail or instant message may change the screen)? PS. Unfortunately I can't to move mail and instant messages from windows due to specific clients for only internal network.

    I'm trying to get to a local web site on my LAN at 192.168.1.10 with my Blackberry, but I'm getting a message saying the server did not respond. I know that some, if not all, internet traffic on a BES-connected blackberry goes through the BES. This is clear because I can access internal resources on my employers network via the mobile network. Is there any way for me to specify that the device should attempt to route directly over wifi before it tries to connect via the BES server at work?

  • Mercurial browser on Windows 2003 takes several refreshes before displaying repositories

    When attempt to browse my Mercurial repositories it usually takes several refreshes before the repository list is displayed. The configuration is as follows: Windows Server 2003 (Dedicated machine hosted by http://www.server4you.com/. Site has anonymous password protection with self-signed SSL. Mercurial 1.5.3 Python 2.6.5 Python for Windows 32 extensions 214 py2.6 isapi-wsgi 0.4.2 The repositories are being served via ISAPI using the standard hgwebdir_wspi.py file (copy to follow). Other problems with the repository server: Before doing a clone/push/etc I have to browse the repositories first otherwise hg on my local machine can not locate the site. I have one a repository with a large changeset that after a minute or so throw error "abort: error: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host". Will be asking another question for this problem.   • Traditional ASP.NET application in subdirectory of an MVC application

    Windows Server 2003, IIS6. We're trying to deploy a non-MVC ASP.NET web application as a subdirectory of an MVC application. However the ASP.NET application in the subdirectory is failing with the message "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." which is bizarre because it's not an MVC application.

  • How do I automate installation of the MSMQ components on a Windows client?

    I'm looking at message queueing for client/server communication in a new product. One of the problems with MSMQ is that it's not installed by default on most Windows desktops, and that it doesn't seem to be available as a redistributable for inclusion in our MSI. Given that the administrator will have access to Microsoft SMS or ConfigMgr or similar, how do I persuade them that it's easy to install? That is: how do I automate installation of the MSMQ components?

  • Chrooted pygopherd fails to find new directories and files

    I tried to setup a Pygopherd on my server. The default setup works fine, but when I try to change the gophermap to point to a new directory with a new file, I get an error message in my gopher client: --- [1] '/path/to/gopher/newdir' does not exist (no handler found) First I thought this is caused by the chroot in which pygopherd runs as default. But when I disable the chroot, the same error comes up. Did anyone successfully set up pygopherd or knows about a better gopher server?

  • I can't get the Samsung PC Studio to work on Vista or Windows 7

    Has anyone got a solution to this problem have asked Samsung but no reply yet! The software installs OK and the drivers, it sees the Tocco Lite when connected but will not actually connect! error message can't change mode or can't connect as "no response from the device because it is in the initializing stage. Try again after the initialization has completed" but it never does. Please Help!!! Mike
