Basically I want the border color of the div rfrsh_btn to change when productOptionsMenu is hovered over.   • PHP 6 not backward compatible

    From what I read, PHP 6 will break a lot of php scripts. I understand the reasons why it may break but why don't they just keep the PHP 5 and simply call PHP 6 as a different language based on PHP syntax? Like for example, why not just call php 6 scripts with an extension, "p6"- why are they trying so hard to make it backward compatible for old scripts when the extension can be used to call a specific interpreter?

    When creating a new Rails application, it is automatically supplied with several quite large js files. In the application layout, by default, all of them are loaded into the page: <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> I was wondering, isn't loading all those javascripts can make the site possibly mush slower? And if so, where can I change the definition of :defaults? Or should I just include the ones I need and remove the code line mentioned above? Thank you

  • Can't make HREF change based on PHP value

    I want to retrieve the user's location and then show a link that points to an URL that changes according to that location. I just want to place the user's city name at the end of the HREF. I need this work on my wordpress site, on a static page. I use a plugin called Exec-php which let's me run PHP in pages. I have a plugin that provides me the user's city through the shortcode "[mmjs-city]". I tried to make it work through different paths but I never get the link to work. Here I tried assigning that shortcode to a value, <?php $city= "[mmjs-city]"; echo $city; echo "<a href='?s=" . $city ."'>Search for your city</a>"; ?> I added the first two lines to check whether the shortcode is working or not and if it's correctly assinged to the value $city. That part works. Then it creates the link and put's the value $city at the end of it. But when trying it instead of taking me to: /?s=new+york It takes me to: /?s=%3Cscript%20language=%22javascript%22%3Edocument.write(geoip_city());%3C/script%3E I have no idea what to do. I would be really thankful for any info on how to make it work, it's really an important feature for my site. Please ask for any further info or idk anything.   • How to protect a form HTML/PHP with JS callback to AS3

    Hi guys, I'm developing a Flash website (as3) where I need to be able to upload directly to YouTube by using the DATA API. However in order to do so, I had to use a proper HTML form on top of my flash object. Why? Because of the Browser Based Upload restictions. I first hide the form using JQuery and with a little CSS the form is display just where I want it. Within flash I use ExternalInterface.call() to show/hide the form when I need it! ExternalInterface.call("YTUploader.showIt"); The upload process is working great my only problem is that the form can be displayed easily... You just need a tool like firebug and you can use the form wherever you want on my flash app. So I was wandering which will be the best way to 'protect' this form or the best way to limit its access. Any advices will be appreciated. Thanks for your time. Jk.

    I have a page that allows a user to choose some things in a form and it will calculate the weight using javascript. It breaks it up into 5 variables that I need to send to another page. Originally I was just having it put the variable into a text box and then I was posting that text box. However I dont want to have 5 text boxes.     I have a notifications app that generates notifications for users. The notification class has to be really general, because notifications are generated by all sorts of different things. My question is this: How do I insert links into the text of the notifications? What I tried was this: note = Notification(..., notification="""%s %s has accepted the task: <a href="/tasks/%d/">%s</a>.""" % (request.user.first_name, request.user.last_name, task.id, task.name), ...) While it blocks the browser during the active request, what is the most efficient way to change the cursor to the hourglass or display a wait .gif? Perhaps set the cursor as it enters this function then change it back in the success or complete function? Any advice is appreciated. Thank You.

I have a print css for it to print appropriately onto paper, the extensions are located within an unordered list, which are floated to the left. <ul> <li>Larry Hughes <span class="ext">8291</span></li> <li>Chuck Davis <span class="ext">3141</span></li> <li>Kevin Skillis <span class="ext">5115</span></li> </ul> I float it left, and when it prints the second page, it leaves off the name part of the list (in Firefox, works fine in Google Chrome and IE), see here: http://cl.ly/de965aea63f66c13ba32 I am referring to this: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/goingtoprint/ - they mentioned something about applying a float:none; to the content part of the page.   • Set z-index with javascript setTimeout()

    What I'm trying to do is to have 4 expandable divs overlapping each other with transition set in css for 0.6s. Because the expanding lasts for 0.6s I'd like to have the expanded div lose it's higher z-index after it's done collapsing, otherwise it looks silly. However, it doesn't work, the z-index remains unchanged. It's probably somethings stupid, but I just can't find it.
