  • Jquery autosuggest google maps - Load on selection

    - by user1738522
    At the moment, the Google map code works like this: When you start typing in the input box it loads a list of suggestions. Then when you click on one of these options from the list, it puts it into the input box. However, THEN you still have to click find to load up the result. I want to have it so when you click on an option from the autosuggest list, it automatically loads the result, without having to click "find" afterwards. This is the code I am working with. I hope I explained this question correctly. http://jsfiddle.net/BxG9H/

  • Jquery remove and add back click event

    - by London
    Is it possible to remove than add back click event to specific element? i.e I have a $("#elem").click(function{//some behaviour});, $(".elem").click(function{//some behaviour});(there are more than 1 element) while my other function getJson is executing I'd like to remove the click event from the #elem, and add it again onsuccess from getJson function, but preserve both mouseenter and mouseleave events the whole time? Or maybe create overlay to prevent clicking like in modal windows? is that better idea? edit : I've seen some really good answers, but there is one detail that I omitted not on purpose. There are more than one element, and I call the click function on the className not on elementId as I stated in the original question

  • Parsing plain data with Javascript (JQuery)

    - by Angelus
    Well , I have this text in a Javascript Var: GIMP Palette Name: Named Colors Columns: 16 # 255 250 250 snow (255 250 250) 248 248 255 ghost white (248 248 255) 245 245 245 white smoke (245 245 245) 220 220 220 gainsboro (220 220 220) 255 250 240 floral white (255 250 240) 253 245 230 old lace (253 245 230) 250 240 230 linen (250 240 230) 250 235 215 antique white (250 235 215) 255 239 213 papaya whip (255 239 213) And What I need is to cut it in lines and put them in one Array , after that i must separate each number and the rest in an string. I'm getting crazy searching functions to do that but now i can't see anyone in Javascript. modified End expected format will be first the next: array[0]='255 250 250 snow (255 250 250)' Then i wanna take it and extract each line into some vars to use them: colour[0]=255; colour[1]=250; colour[2]=250; string=snow (255 250 250); (the vars will be reused with each line)

  • Loop elements with Jquery and call Omniture s.tl() function to track

    - by ilovewebdev
    Hi, i have a page with a list of items. Each item has a print now link (a.printMe) to print each item. At the end of the list, there's a print all link (a.printAll) to print all items. I want to track number of times an item was printed. If a.printAll link is clicked, then i will send all the item's tracking value to Omniture. I added tracking string into individual item's a.printMe href attribute and track with the following functions: $('a.printMe').click(function() { var value = $(this).attr('href'); track(value); }); $('a.printAll').click(function() { $('a.printMe').each(function() { this.click(); }); // works in IE only. IE 6-8 }); function track(value) { var s = s_gi('account'); s.prop10 = value; s.linkTrackVars = 'prop10'; s.tl(true, 'o'); } The problem is only the last item (in the list) has its value sent to Omniture when i clicked on a.printAll. I finally got the above to work in IE but not Firefox. Anyone encounter this before?

    - by sara.ma
    I'm new. i have a popup code that when user click anywhere in the HTML page, a popup window shows up: (function () { document.onclick = function () { var sUrl = "http://URL.com"; if (typeof daily_capping == "undefined") var daily_capping = 10; if (typeof capping_minutes == "undefined") var capping_minutes = 60; if (document.cookie.indexOf("_popwin=") === -1) { var ads2day = document.cookie.split("_popwinDaily=")[1]; ads2day = typeof ads2day == "undefined" ? 0 : parseInt(ads2day.split(";")[0]); if (ads2day < daily_capping) { var isMSIE = navigator.userAgent.indexOf("MSIE") != -1 ? !0 : !1, _parent = self, sOptions, popunder; if (top != self) try { top.document.location.toString() && (_parent = top) } catch (err) {} sOptions = "toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,location=yes,statusbar=yes,menubar=no,resizable=1,width=" + screen.width.toString() + ",height=" + (screen.height - 20).toString() + ",screenX=0,screenY=0,left=0,top=0", popunder = _parent.window.open(sUrl, "rhpop", sOptions); if (popunder) { popunder.blur(); if (isMSIE) { window.focus(); try { opener.window.focus() } catch (err) {} } else popunder.init = function (e) { with(e)(function () { if (typeof window.mozPaintCount != "undefined" || typeof navigator.webkitGetUserMedia == "function") { var e = window.open("about:blank"); e.close() } try { opener.window.focus() } catch (t) {} })() }, popunder.params = { url: sUrl }, popunder.init(popunder) } var now = new Date, popDaily = (new Date(now.getUTCFullYear(), now.getUTCMonth(), now.getUTCDate(), 23, 59, 59)).toGMTString(); document.cookie = "_popwinDaily=" + (ads2day + 1) + ";expires=" + popDaily + ";path=/"; var popInterval = new Date; popInterval.setTime(popInterval.getTime() + capping_minutes * 60 * 1e3), document.cookie = "_popwin=1;expires=" + popInterval.toGMTString() + ";path=/" } } } })(); but popup is on top. is it possible to make it open behind main page?? is there any lighter popup code for this purpose? thanks guys

  • jQuery: If user clicks out of div

    - by Paul Knopf
    I am creating a popup in query. All is well with the popup on hover. I made it see a timer starts when user's mouse leaves the div to close it. If he enters the div again before the timer is done, then the timer is cleared. This is fine, but what if a user clicks out of the div? I want that to also close the div. The only problem is that I don't want to attach click events to the wrapper on the page (because it includes the popout menu). I have seen techniques that wraps entire screen with a transparent div, and then attach a click event to hit. Although this may work, it confuses the user if he clicks the hidden div intending to click a link. He will have to click the link twice. Once two close the div (hiding the link), and another time to actually click think. Also, you loose in mouse cursors attached to any masked elements on the page (such as links cursor pointer, etc). There has to be a way to check if the user clicked out of the div without a modal and without attaching events to the entire page (page wrappers and child elements included). onclicksomewhereelse="closeme();" lol.

  • IE AJAX/Jquery issue - redirecting to new page instead of loading it into a div

    - by phx-zs
    I have a page like this: <form class="ajax" method="post" action="add_item.php"> [text input] [submit button] </form> [list any items the user has in a div here called #items] When the user clicks the submit button, a function like this is called: $("form.ajax").live('submit', function(event) { params = $(this).serialize(); $.post($(this).attr("action"), params, function(data){ json = $.parseJSON(data); // do stuff based on the json results if(json.success.action == 'replace'){ $(json.success.container).html(json.success.message); } else{ $(json.success.container).prepend(json.success.message); $(json.success.container).find(".item:first").slideDown(); } }); event.returnValue = false; return false; }); This is supposed to load add_item.php into the #items div, and it works fine in FF, Chrome, Safari, just not IE. In IE (tested 7 and 8) when I click Submit it redirects the page to add_item.php rather than loading it into the #items div. I tried adding event.preventDefault(); to the end of the function but that didn't work. Any ideas?

  • Jquery toggle with two elements

    - by Jesse
    I am using a toggle on a graphic to slide out a contact form. The problem is, the contact form can cover up the graphic element on low resolutions. I thought a solution would be to include a "close this" inside the form, that would use the same toggle effect. When I add the close this element to the code, instead of working in tandem with the original graphic element, it starts the chain back over, and slides the contact form even further out. Site is here: http://www.tritonloyaltysupport.com/status Code for toggle here: $(this).html(div_form); //show / hide function $('div.contactable').toggle( function() { $('#overlay').css({display: 'block'}); $('#contactForm').animate({"marginRight": "-=0px"}, "fast"); $('#contactForm').animate({"marginRight": "+=390px"}, "slow"); }, function() { $('#contactForm').animate({"marginRight": "-=390px"}, "slow"); $('#overlay').css({display: 'none'}); } );

  • Javascript/jQuery: Varying parameters on a custom function

    - by dclowd9901
    I'm writing a plugin that will allow parameters to 'set it up.' But I predict the user won't always want to set up every aspect of the function. function This_Function(a,b,c,d); For instance, maybe they'll only want to set up a and c, but not b and d (they'll just prefer to leave those as defaults). How do I write the function (or the parameters for that matter) so that the user can customize which functions they would prefer to pass? I have a feeling it involves parsing input, but I've seen many other functions with this capability. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Jquery attach show event to select option

    - by John
    Hi, I have a select form element with 5 options. If option 2 is selected I want to display another form input box (this has a style of display:none initially). How can I attach an event to option 2 so that whenever it is selected the input box is shown otherwise it is hidden. I have this currently but this does not handle is option 2 is already selected when the page loads $('#type').change(function(){ var typeSelected = $(this).val(); if (typeSelected == 2) { $('#extraInput').show(); } }); I know I could add another bit of code which checks what is selected on page load but wondered if there was a neater way of doing this. Also something that could handle the hiding of the input box if option 2 is not selected at the start as currently I have just hard-coded style="display:none" onto the input box but I would prefer this to be dynamic. Thanks

  • Jquery: get ancestors (or descendants) and self

    - by gsakkis
    One can use matchedset.find(selector) / matchedset.parents(selector) to get the descendants/ancestors of the current matched set filtered by a sealector, but that doesn't include the matched set itself (if it happens to match the selector too). Is there a better (more consise and/or faster) way to get it than matchedset.find(selector).add(matchedset.filter(selector)) and the respective for parents() ?
