    A program creates a mutex as part of its start-up. I don't know the format of this mutex so I wondered if there is a way to get a list of all non-abandoned mutex, open the program, get a new list and see if I can find the mutex by removing all duplicate entries. Is there a way to get this list?

  • Moving a large number of files in one directory to multiple directories

    I am looking to create a Windows batch script to move about 2,000 files and splitting them up so that there are 10 files per folder. I have attempted creating a batch script but the syntax really boggles my mind. Here is what I have so far @echo off :: Config parameters set /a groupsize = 10 :: initial counter, everytime counter is 1, we create new folder set /a n = 1 :: folder counter set /a nf = 1 for %%f in (*.txt) do ( :: if counter is 1, create new folder if %n% == 1 ( md folder%nf% set /a n += 1 ) :: move file into folder mv -Y %%f folder%nf%\%%f :: reset counter if larger than group size if %n% == %groupsize% ( set /a n = 1 ) else ( set /a n += 1 ) ) pause Basically what this script does is loop through each .txt file in the directory. It creates a new directory in the beginning and moves 10 files into that directory, then creates a new folder again and moves another 10 files into that directory, and so on. However, I'm having problems where the n variable is not being incremented in the loop? I'm sure there's other errors too since the CMD window closes on me even with pause. Any help or guidance is appreciated, thanks for your time!

    I have a struct, with a Name and a single Node called nextName It's a Singly Linked list, and my task is to create the list, based on alphabetical order of the strings. So iff i enter Joe Zolt and Arthur i should get my list structured as Joe Than Joe Zolt Than Arthur Joe Zolt I'm having trouble implementing the correct Algorithm, which would put the pointers in the right order. This is What I have as of Now.     I am working on an MVC app in Sencha Touch 2 and am having trouble getting a list to display in a nested panel. The structure of the app has a main view which is a tab panel. One of the items in the tab panel is a defined panel, xtype: 'homepanel'. An item in this panel is the list, xtype: 'newslist' that is linked to the appropriate store and model files. The list does not display unless I change its parent 'homepanel' to a type, Ext.navigation.View. What am I missing in the definition of 'homepanel' as a Panel that prevents the display of the list?     Here are the ways the Eclipse documentation states you can navigate the Content Assist list: You can use the mouse or the keyboard (Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, Enter) to navigate and select lines in the list. But all of the options require you to move your hands significantly away from their natural place on the keyboard! Are there any other, quicker ways I can navigate this list? Something like tab, or the j/k from vi?

    I have custom list item renderers and editors for a List control. I need for the editor to have a greater height then the renderer, i.e., the row should expand(in height) when it goes into edit mode. However, even when the list's variableRowHeight is set to true, it doesn't do what I want: the height seems to be based on the height of the renderer only, not the editor. Is there any way to do what I want?

  • How do I improve the efficiency of the queries executed by this generic Linq-to-SQL data access clas

    Hi all, I have a class which provides generic access to LINQ to SQL entities, for example: class LinqProvider<T> //where T is a L2S entity class { DataContext context; public virtual IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return context.GetTable<T>(); } public virtual T Single(Func<T, bool> condition) { return context.GetTable<T>().SingleOrDefault(condition); } } From the front end, both of these methods appear to work as you would expect. However, when I run a trace in SQL profiler, the Single method is executing what amounts to a SELECT * FROM [Table], and then returning the single entity that meets the given condition. Obviously this is inefficient, and is being caused by GetTable() returning all rows. My question is, how do I get the query executed by the Single() method to take the form SELECT * FROM [Table] WHERE [condition], rather than selecting all rows then filtering out all but one? Is it possible in this context? Any help appreciated, Lee

  • working with large sprite sheets on iphone

    Hi All, I am trying to use sprite sheet animation in my application. The first POC with a small sprite sheet worked fine but as i change the sprite sheet to a bigger one, i get "check_safe_call: could not restore current frame" warning and the application quits. A quick search revealed that this problem meant my app is taking too much memory or the image is too huge in dimension. My image is 4.9 Mb and dimensions are 6720 * 10080 (oops!!). i read that iphone allows maximum 3 Mb image with dimensions up to 1024 * 1024. Also that the sprite sheet image dimensions should be a power of two. So please let me know how i can use a sprite sheet this big. One approach could be to cut the sprite sheet into many smaller sprite sheets and use them one at a time. Please suggest if you know any other/better approach to accommodate bigger sprite sheets and whether the problem with my sprite sheet is size (4.9 Mb) OR dimensions (6720 * 10080). (Just FYI, i am not trying to play a movie so using MP4 file instead is not an option for me. i need to animate the sprite sheet based on accelerometer input and i have been able to achieve that in my POC with smaller sprite sheet.)   • Creating a Large Matrix in ff

    I am trying to create a huge matrix in ff, and I know that ff is good for this sort of thing. But, there is a major problem. The dimensions of the matrix exceed .Machine$max_integer! I am running on a 64 bit machine, using 64bit R and 64bit ff. Is there any way to get around this problem? It's been suggested that R is using the MAXINT value from stdint.h.   • Make process crash on large memory allocation

    I'm trying to find a significant memory leak (15MB at a time, but doing allocations like this on multiple places). I checked the most obvious places, and then used AQTime, but I still can't pinpoint it. Now I see 2 options left: 1) Use SetProcessWorkingSetSize: I've tried this but my process happily keeps on running when using up more then 150MB: DWORD MemorySize = 150*1024*1024; SetProcessWorkingSetSize( GetCurrentProcess(), MemorySize/2, MemorySize*2 ); 2) Put a breakpoint when allocating more then 1MB at a time. How should I do this, overload operator new with an 'if1MB' inside ?

    I'm doing some in browser editing, and I have some content that's on the order of around 20k characters long in a <pre>. So it looks something like: <pre> Text 1 Text 2 Text 3 Text 4 [...] Text 20,000 </pre> I'd like to use jquery to trim it down when someone hits a button to chop, but I'm having trouble doing it without overloading the browser. Assume I know that the character numbers are at 16,510 - 17,888, and what I'd like to do is trim it. I was using: jQuery('#textsection').html(jQuery('textarea').html().substr(range.start)); But browsers seem to enjoy crashing when I do this. Alternatives?

    We have Best practices on using disposable object in SharePoint. But i`m thinking - can I skip these when using Console Application? That's some code I want to execute once and after that process has finished. Do or don't SPSite and SPWeb's remain opened somwhere? Why i`m asking this? I just don't want to stress when using something like var lists = from web in site.AllWebs.Cast<SPWeb>() where web is meeting workspace && list is task list select list then do some stuff on lists etc. Some serious resource leak there because webs get opened, filtered and NOT closed. So should I worry in console app?

    Hi, I have a PHP page with two drop down lists. I am using AJAX to populate the second one according to the choice made of the first drop down list. My problem is that when i am posting both values of the two dropdownlists to another php page in which an INSERT query is being made, the value of the second dropdown list is blank (as if no value was selected from the second drop down list). Can you please take a look at this code and let me know what I am doing wrong?

    I have a list of values I want to insert into a table via a stored procedure. I figured I would pass an array to oracle and loop through the array but I don't see how to pass an array into Oracle. I'd pass a list but I don't see how to work with the list to turn it into an array using PL/SQL (I'm fairly new to PL/SQL). Am I approaching this the wrong way? Using Oracle 9i and CF8. TIA! EDIT Perhaps I'm thinking about this the wrong way? I'm sure I'm not doing anything new here... I figured I'd convert the list to an associative array then loop the array because Oracle doesn't seem to work well with lists (in my limited observation). I'm trying to add a product, then add records for the management team. -- product table productName = 'foo' productDescription = 'bar' ... ... etc -- The managementteam table just has the id of the product and id of the users selected from a drop down. The user IDs are passed in via a list like "1,3,6,20" How should I go about adding the records to the management team table?

    I'm looking to find a way to in real-time find the shortest path between nodes in a huge graph. It has hundreds of thousands of vertices and millions of edges. I know this question has been asked before and I guess the answer is to use a breadth-first search, but I'm more interested in to know what software you can use to implement it. For example, it would be totally perfect if it already exist a library (with python bindings!) for performing bfs in undirected graphs.

  • RijndaelManaged Padding when data matches block size

    If I use PKCS7 padding in RijndaelManaged with 16 bytes of data then I get 32 bytes of data output. It appears that for PKCS7 when the data size matches the block size it adds a whole extra block of data. If I use Zeros padding for 16 bytes of data I get out 16 bytes of data. So for Zeros padding if the data matches the block size then it doesn't pad. I have searched through the documentation and it says nothing about this difference in padding behavior. Can someone please point me to some kind of documentation which specifies what the padding behavior should be for the different padding modes when the data size matches the block size.

This functions as expected in all browsers apart from IE7, where if I scroll the list to choose a time lower down in the list, the list dissapears..   • handling large arrays with array_diff

    I have been trying to compare two arrays. Using array_intersect presents no problems. When using array_diff and arrays with ~5,000 values, it works. When I get to ~10,000 values, the script dies when I get to array_diff. Turning on error_reporting did not produce anything. I tried creating my own array_diff function: function manual_array_diff($arraya, $arrayb) { foreach ($arraya as $keya => $valuea) { if (in_array($valuea, $arrayb)) { unset($arraya[$keya]); } } return $arraya; } source: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2479963/how-does-array-diff-work I would expect it to be less efficient that than the official array_diff, but it can handle arrays of ~10,000. Unfortunately, both array_diffs fail when I get to ~15,000. I tried the same code on a different machine and it runs fine, so it's not an issue with the code or PHP. There must be some limit set somewhere on that particular server. Any idea how I can get around that limit or alter it or just find out what it is?
