• DataGridView: how to make scrollbar in sync with current cell selection?

  I have a windows application with DataGridView as data presentation. Every 2 minutes, the grid will be refreshed with new data. In order to keep the scroll bar in sync with the new data added, I have to reset its ScrollBars: dbv.Rows.Clear(); // clear rows SCrollBars sc = dbv.ScrollBars; dbv.ScrollBars = ScrollBars.None; // continue to populate rows such as dbv.Rows.Add(obj); dbv.ScrollBars = sc; // restore the scroll bar setting back With above codes, the scroll bar reappears fine after data refresh. The problem is that the application requires to set certain cell as selected after the refresh: dbv.CurrentCell = dbv[0, selectedRowIndex]; With above code, the cell is selected; however, the scroll bar's position does not reflect the position of the selected cell's row position. When I try to move the scroll bar after the refresh, the grid will jump to the first row. It seems that the scroll bar position is set back to 0 after the reset. The code to set grid's CurrentCell does not cause the scroll bar to reposition to the correct place. There is no property or method to get or set scroll bar's value in DataGriadView, as far as I know. I also tried to set the selected row to the top: dbv.CurrentCell = dbv[0, selectedRowIndex]; dbv.FirstDisplayedScrollingRowIndex = selectedRowIndex; The row will be set to the top, but the scroll bar's position is still out of sync. Not sure if there is any way to make scroll bar's position in sync with the selected row which is set in code?

  Hello, I am using three MySQl tables: comment commentid loginid submissionid comment datecommented login loginid username password email actcode disabled activated created points submission submissionid loginid title url displayurl datesubmitted In these three tables, the "loginid" correspond. I would like to pull the top 10 loginids based on the number of "submissionid"s. I would like to display them in a 3-column HTML table that shows the "username" in the first column, the number of "submissionid"s in the second column, and the number of "commentid"s in the third column. I tried using the query below but it did not work. Any idea why not? Should I break up the characters in the query, and individually perform a LIKE % % match on each character against the row, or is there any easier way to get a row that contains one of the two characters? Using the Immediate Window confirms that "table" is a non-null object, and that table["apple"] returns 25; it's something that's being lost in translation to L2.   I have an existing program for a bank account, the user can create an account then withdraw or deposit money to the account. As a transaction is processed, labels are being used to show the current information such as (Beginning Balance, Transaction Fee, Withdrawal Amount, and Ending Balance). Now, I need to be able to keep track of the transactions being processed in a SQL database. I know how to add a database to the project and then set it up to display all of the data from the table in a gridview. This is assuming that I manually entered data into the table; however, the table should be blank when the program starts and as I process transactions, then the data should be written to the table. How do I bind my existing fields (labels) to a datatable and send the text to the table. The book that I have is all related to just displaying the data that is already in the table and I have been through a couple of tutorial online and they seem to be about the same subject. I haven't found anything on how to do what I am looking for. Can someone help me out here. I don't mind references to other websites that might have the answer. Thanks, Susan

Everything that has the IBOutlet and @property are also @synthesized and released in the .m file. Leaks is showing that I have memory leaks with CALayer when I create these custom view objects. Am I doing something wrong here when I create these custom view objects? I'm kind of tearing my hair out trying to figure out where these leaks are coming from. As a side note, I have a UIImageView background image defined in these custom views but I didn't define properties and IBOutlets in my .h and .m files. Defining them doesn't make a difference when I run it through Leaks but just wanted to confirm if I'm doing the right thing. Any input would be super helpful. Thanks :)

  Hi, I'm new to iPhone dev and wanted to get advice on the general design pattern / guide for putting a certain kind of app together. I'm trying to build a TabBar type application. One of the tabs needs to display a TableView and selecting a cell from within the table view will do something else - maybe show another table view or a web page. I need a Navigation Bar to be able to take me back from the table view/web page. The approach I've taken so far is to: Create an app based around UITabBarController as the rootcontroller i.e. @interface MyAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { IBOutlet UIWindow *window; IBOutlet UITabBarController *rootController; } Create a load of UIViewController derived classes and associated NIBs and wire everything up in IB so when I run the app I get the basic tabs working.   Hi, I am currently building a dynamic url tab system that user can say what urls they want to be displayed on a tabpage control. In the database i have the following columns. userID, int URLName var Enabled bit I am pulling the data back ok but what i am trying do is populate a checkbox list with the urlname and its status on a user options page so they can say what tabs they want displayed. I have wrote the following methods to get the urls and create the checkboxes however i keep getting the following error. ex = {"InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'index'.\r\nParameter name: index"} It reads the first row ok but when it hits the 2nd row that is being returned i get that error. Has anyone got any ideas?   Hello, i am devloping a site using .net MVC i have a data access layer which basically consists of static list objects that are created from data within my database. The method that rebuilds this data first clears all the list objects. Once they are empty it then add the data. Here is an example of one of the lists im using. its a method which generates all the UK postcodes. there are about 50 methods similar to this in my application that return all sorts of information, such as towns, regions, members, emails etc. public static List<PostCode> AllPostCodes = new List<PostCode>(); when the rebuild method is called it first clears the list. The exception is "Index was outside the bounds of the array." it is due to when a list is being cleared. ListPostCodes.AllPostCodes.Clear(); - // throws exception - although its not always in regard to this list. Once this exception is thrown application dies, All users are affected. I have to restart the server to fix it. i have 2 questions... If i utilise caching instead of static objects would this help ? Is there any way i can say "while the rebuild is taking place, wait for it to complete until accepting requests" any help is most appricaiated ;) truegilly

  I've just started a very simple WPF application which consists of a main large image and four smaller images. In order to assist with the layout, I created some JPEGs in MsPaint containing the images -2, -1, 0, +1 and +2 and just copied them into the top level of the project directory. Details | V The file plus2.jpg is not part of the project or its 'Build Action' property is not set to 'Resource'. Yet if I rename the file to plus3.jpg or plus2x.jpg, I don't have that problem. • Why qry.post executed with asynchronous mode?

We set a breakpoint at line of "beep", then lunch the test application under ide debug mode, when ide stops at the breakpoint line (qry.post has been executed), at this time we use microsoft access to open test.mdb and open table aaa you will find there are no any changes in table aaa, if you let the ide continue running after pressing f9 you can find a new record is inserted in to table aaa, but if you press ctrl+f2 to terminate the application at the breakpoint, you will find the table aaa has no record been inserted, but in normal circumstance, a new record should be inserted in to the table aaa after qry.post executed. who can explain this problem , it troubles me so long time. thanks !!! BTW, the ide is delphi 2010, and the access mdb file is created by microsoft access 2007 under windows 7

• Bind button visibility to the expresion (C#)

  I have a delete button in each row of GridView (component ASP.NET). I want some of the delete buttons to be invisible. The visibility of the delete button should depend on the data that are back the row. GridView is backed by EntityDataSource. GridView displays entities called Category, one instance in each row. Entity Category has (besides others) also a field of type EntityCollection. Name of that field is Items. Basically I want to allow user to delete a row only if the Items field of backing Category entity is an empty collection. I cannot make up the binding of Visible property. I have no experience with bindings and Google does not really help. This is how the button looks right now: <asp:Button ID="DeleteButton" runat="server" CommandName="Delete" Text="Delete" Visible=??? ></asp:Button> I don't know what should replace ???. The button schold be visible only when this expression evaluates to true: ((SimpleEShop.Model.Category) dataItem).Items.LongCount() <= 0 where dataItem variable contains data of current row in the table. What is the binding that I need ?

It seems to go on lunch break for the while loop echoing section. Any ideas?
