  • Using one data source across multiple views in Kendo UI SPA

    - by user3731783
    I am trying to build a Kendo UI SPA. I have two views. View 1 (appListView) shows Application Details in a grid and view 2 (activityView) will have a dropdown for application names and a grid that shows the activity for selected application As I am loading all the application details on the loading of view 1, I would like to re-use those details to populate the dropdown on view 2. Please see my code below. Everything works fine but when I go to View 2 it makes a call to the service again to get application details. I would like to use the existing data if it is already loaded and if the uses comes to view 2 directly then it should get application data also. I am not sure what I am missing in the code. View Markup: <script id="appListView" type="text/x-kendo-template"> <h3 data-bind="html: displayName"></h3> <div data-role="grid" data-editable="{'mode':'popup'}" data-bind="source: items" data-columns="[ {'field': 'Name'}, {'field': 'ContactEmail','title':'Contact Email'} ]"> </div> </script> <script id="" type="text\x-kendo-template"> <div> Activity for Application&nbsp;&nbsp; <input name="AppName" data-role="dropdownlist" data-source="appsModel.items" data-text-field="Name" data-value-field="Id" data-option-label="Choose an application name" style="width:250px;" /> </div> <div id="Activities" data-role="grid" data-bind="source: items" data-auto-bind="false" data-columns="[ {'field': 'Domain','title':'Domain'}, {'field': 'ActivityType','title':'Activity Type'} ]"> </div> </script> js with DataSource and View Model: //data sources var applications = new kendo.data.DataSource({ schema: { model: { id: "Id" } }, serverFiltering : true, transport: { read: { url: '/api/App', dataType: 'json', type:'GET' } } }); var activities = new kendo.data.DataSource({ schema: { model: { id: "Id" } }, transport: { read: { url: '/api/Activity', dataType: 'json', type: 'GET' }, parameterMap: function (data, type) { if (type == "read") { return 'appId=' + $("#AppName").val() ; } } } }); //Models var appsModel = kendo.observable({ items: applications, displayName: 'My Applications' }); var activityModel = kendo.observable({ items: activities, onAppChange: function(t){ $("#Activities").data("kendoGrid").dataSource.read(); }, dispayName: 'Application Activities' }); //views var layout = new kendo.Layout("layout-template"); var appListView = new kendo.View("appListView", { model: appsModel }); var activityView = new kendo.View("activityView", { model: activityModel }); Thank you for taking time to read this long question.

  • Is Horde an acceptable framework for PHP groupware development?

    - by Glenn
    I'm working on this project and the customer wants it to integrate with a groupware package including bulk email, calendars, and task lists. He has heard about Horde and Horde GroupWare and is interested in using that. Do you have any developer related experience with Horde? If so, then what were your findings? Did you find it to be stable? What about the framework/API? Was it easy to integrate with?

  • How to know about results of work with COM component?

    - by chester89
    I suppose this question is more general than working with COM components. I have a .NET client written in C# and COM component written in pure Win32 API. Client side uses this component to perform some actions. How to know on the client that component did its job? I think it may be socket/pipe, with component writing to it about results, and client reading from it displaying progress to the user. What is the best way to do this?

  • Java NIO (Netty): Exceptionhandling in Downstream Hanlders/Chain

    - by Tom
    Hello Experts, could someone please explain to me, how in netty "Downstream Exceptions" are handeled? According to the javadoc there are no Downstream exceptions: http://docs.jboss.org/netty/3.1/api/org/jboss/netty/channel/ExceptionEvent.html Given the case that in one of my downstream handlers an exception occures OR in the I/0 Thread itself, where can these errors be catched and handeled? thank you very much tom

  • wpf 4 datagrid not highlighting row.

    - by SteveCav
    I have a shiny new wpf 4 datagrid, and no matter what I do I can't make the row highlight when the user clicks on a cell. It works on the empty "new record" row on the bottom, but not on rows with data (yes I've tried with and without readonly). My XAML is: <DataGrid AutoGenerateColumns="False" Background="Beige" Height="353" SelectionUnit="FullRow" SelectionMode="Single" AlternatingRowBackground="lightcyan" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Name="dgJobs" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="1160"> <DataGrid.Columns> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Job ID" Width="80" Binding="{Binding JobID}" IsReadOnly="True"></DataGridTextColumn> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Site" Width="SizeToCells" Binding="{Binding AssetName}" IsReadOnly="True"></DataGridTextColumn> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Category" Width="SizeToCells" Binding="{Binding CategoryName}" IsReadOnly="True"></DataGridTextColumn> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Status" Width="SizeToCells" Binding="{Binding JobStatusDesc}" IsReadOnly="True"></DataGridTextColumn> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Reason" Width="SizeToCells" Binding="{Binding Reason}" IsReadOnly="True"></DataGridTextColumn> </DataGrid.Columns> </DataGrid> Nothing too fancy, it's quite plain really. I had themes enabled because I'm using a Fluent Ribbon elsewhere and it forces you to, but I tried turning that off and it had no effect. I have a 3.5 form in another app which is also very plain and you can highlight the row on it. Why on earth isn't this one working?

  • Opengl Coordinate System

    - by praveen
    Say I am using an Identity Matrix for my modelViewTransformation Matrix on an Open GL ES2.0 program. The Co-ordinate system in this case is the canonical opengl co-ordinate system which extends from (-1,-1,-1) to (1,,1,1). My question is, is this coordinate system right-handed or left-handed? A broader question: Is there a document with OpenGL which can list all the mathematical conventions followed by the API?

  • Facebook Open Graph under a constrained application

    - by Hellnar
    Hello For an embedded system with internet (which works under a set-top box) I want to develop a primitive Facebook interface where users can type their user-names and password, showing their latest notificationsa, messages and other casual stuff via the recent Facebook Graph API. This middleware program uses Java ME to run programs (such as this simple facebook app) and it can connect to internet however it doesn't have a real web browser. Under this circumstance, is it possible to achieve such Facebook application? If you think so, what approach would you suggest ? Thanks

  • [ipad] Is there a SDK for the photo gallery?

    - by Rafael Steil
    The "Photos.app" in iPad has a gallery that you can browse all photos, including support for slideshow and other things. I'd like to know if this API is available (aka, not private) and which one it is (so I won't need to implement one photo gallery from scratch). I looked at http://github.com/facebook/three20, but I'm not sure if it is the same thing. Thank.

  • How can this PHP/FQL code be modified to increase the performance and usability?

    - by Kaoukkos
    I try to get some insights from the pages I am administrator on Facebook. What my code does, it gets the IDs of the pages I want to work with through mySQL. I did not include that part though.After this, I get the page_id, name and fan_count of each of those facebook IDs and are saved in fancounts[]. Using the IDs ( pages[] ) I get two messages max from each page. There may be no messages, there may be 1 or 2 messages max. Possibly I will increase it later. messages[] holds the messages of each page. I have two problems with it. It has a very slow performance I can't find a way to echo the data like this: ID - Name of the page - Fan Count Here goes the first message Here goes the second one //here is a break ID - Name of the page 2 - Fan Count Here goes the first message of page 2 Here goes the second one of page 2 My questions are, how can the code be modified to increase performance and show the data as above? I read about fql.multiquery. Can it be used here? Please provide me with code examples. Thank you $pages = array(); // I get the IDs I want to work with $pagesIds = implode(',', $pages); // fancounts[] holds the page_id, name and fan_count of the Ids I work with $fancounts = array(); $pagesFanCounts = $facebook->api("/fql", array( "q" => "SELECT page_id, name, fan_count FROM page WHERE page_id IN ({$pagesIds})" )); foreach ($pagesFanCounts['data'] as $page){ $fancounts[] = $page['page_id']."-".$page['name']."-".$page['fan_count']; } //messages[] holds from 0 to 2 messages from each of the above pages $messages = array(); foreach( $pages as $id) { $getMessages = $facebook->api("/fql", array( "q" => "SELECT message FROM stream WHERE source_id = '$id' LIMIT 2" )); $messages[] = $getMessages['data']; } // this is how I print them now but it does not give me the best output. ( thanks goes to Mark for providing me this code ) $count = min(count($fancounts),count($messages)); for($i=0; $i<$count; ++$i) { echo $fancounts[$i],'<br>'; foreach($messages[$i] as $msg) { echo $msg['message'],'<br>'; } }

  • Visual Studio IntelliSense - IHideObjectMembers trick doesn't work. What am I missing?

    - by stakx
    The IHideObjectMembers trick can be used e.g. in fluent interface implementations to hide System.Object members from IntelliSense. (If you don't know this trick, you can read up on it via the above link; I'm just repeating the interface's usual declaration here:) using System; using System.ComponentModel; [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] public interface IHideObjectMembers { [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] Type GetType(); [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] int GetHashCode(); [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] string ToString(); [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] bool Equals(object obj); } I'm now supposed to be able to hide System.Object members on another type as follows: public class SomeClass : IHideObjectMembers { ... } or: public class ISomeInterface : IHideObjectMembers { ... } I tried this in both VS 2008 Express and VS 2008 Standard. However, no members are hidden from IntelliSense at all. I have used the EditorBrowsableAttribute in different projects and it always worked well; however, it doesn't work in this particular scenario. If things had worked as expected, I would only have seen the SomeMethodTwo method. Am I missing something?

  • Google Chart Number formatting

    I need to format my pie and column charts to show the $ and comma in currency format ($###,###) when you hover over the charts. Right now, it is displaying the number and percentage but the number as #####.## here is my code. Any help would be appreciated. // Load the Visualization API and the piechart package. google.load('visualization', '1.0', {'packages':['corechart']}); // Set a callback to run when the Google Visualization API is loaded. google.setOnLoadCallback(drawChart); var formatter = new google.visualization.NumberFormat({ prefix: '$' }); formatter.format(data, 1); var options = { pieSliceText: 'value' }; // Callback that creates and populates a data table, // instantiates the pie chart, passes in the data and // draws it. function drawChart() { // REVENUE CHART - Create the data table. var data4 = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data4.addColumn('string', 'Status'); data4.addColumn('number', 'In Thousands'); data4.addRows([ ['Net tution & Fees', 213.818], ['Auxiliaries', 30.577], ['Government grants/contracts', 39.436], ['Private grants/gifts', 39.436], ['Investments', 10.083], ['Clinics', 14.353], ['Other', 5.337] ]); // EXPENSES CHART - Create the data table. var data5 = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data5.addColumn('string', 'Status'); data5.addColumn('number', 'Amount'); data5.addRows([ ['Instruction', 133.868], ['Sponsored Progams', 34.940], ['Auxiliaries', 30.064], ['Academic Support', 25.529], ['Depreciation & amortization', 18.548], ['Student Services', 22.626], ['Plant operations & maintenance', 18.105], ['Fundraising', 13.258], ['Geneal Administration', 11.628], ['Interest', 6.846], ['Student Aid', 1.886], ]); // ENDOWMENT CHART - Create the data table. var data6 = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data6.addColumn('string', 'Status'); data6.addColumn('number', 'In Millions'); data6.addRows([ ['2010', 178.7], ['2011', 211.693], ['2012', 199.3] ]); // Set REVENUE chart options var options4 = { is3D: true, fontName: 'Arial', colors:['#AFD8F8', '#F6BD0F', '#8BBA00', '#FF8E46', '#008E8E', '#CCCCCC', '#D64646', '#8E468E'], 'title':'', 'width':550, 'height':250}; // Set EXPENSES chart options var options5 = { is3D: true, fontName: 'Arial', colors:['#AFD8F8', '#F6BD0F', '#8BBA00', '#FF8E46', '#008E8E', '#CCCCCC', '#D64646', '#8E468E'], 'title':'', 'width':550, 'height':250}; // Set ENDOWMENT chart options var options6 = { is3D: true, fontName: 'Arial', colors:['#AFD8F8', '#F6BD0F', '#8BBA00', '#FF8E46', '#008E8E', '#CCCCCC', '#D64646', '#8E468E'], 'title':'', 'width':450, 'height':250}; // Instantiate and draw our chart, passing in some options. var chart4 = new google.visualization.PieChart(document.getElementById('chart_div4')); chart4.draw(data4, options4); var chart5 = new google.visualization.PieChart(document.getElementById('chart_div5')); chart5.draw(data5, options5); var chart6 = new google.visualization.ColumnChart(document.getElementById('chart_div6')); chart6.draw(data6, options6);}
