  • How to tunnel port 25565 through SSH?

    I want to play a game which is hosted on port 25565 (minecraft!), but my university firewall does not allow this port. I have a dedicated server running linux not too far from uni, so I think there's a way to tunnel through it (but I've never done this before and have no knowledge/experience of tunnelling) It would probably be slow, but it's better than not being able to play at all. Is it possible to do using only SSH, or do I need other client/server software? My server has OpenSSH installed. Also, the computer I'm using to play the game is running Ubuntu. I've tried searching but there seem to be so many different solutions to different types of problem =/

  • Windows Server 2008: Limit UDP/TCP packets per IP or ban

    How I can limit UDP/TCP packets per IP send to my host (or better PORT) per second or minute ? Would be nice to ban that IP for 12/24 hours or even for ever. I got Windows Server 2008 and I'm very poor in Windows administration but quite good in Linux. EDIT: By basic problem is that They sending a lot of rubbish UPD and TCP packets.. TCP packets without SYNCH, fragmented UDP packets so my servers stop responding.. So I need to cut off users (IPs) sending more than X packets per second. I need solution witch provides me, somehow, configurable: X packets of certain type (UDP, TCP or both - lets say parameter named Z ) are allowed to be received by IP on Y port, otherwise this packet should be DROPPED. My virtual hosts are hosted by VirtualBox and I'm able to forward all incoming packets certain type and certain port to the specific Virtual Host, but I need to DROP them before my VirtualBox receive them.

    I know that it's possible to get this information - Intel's own TurboBoost sidebar gadget appears to use an ActiveX control to determine the current clock speed of an i3/i5/i7 CPU when TurboBoost is active. However, I'm wanting to do this programmatically in C# - obtaining the CurrentClockSpeed value from WMI tops out at the set maximum clock speed of the CPU, so in TurboBoost mode, it doesn't report the current actual clock speed.

  • Changing Windows 'hosts' file in guest OS under Parallels Desktop 6 on Mac

    I am running Win7 in a Parallels Desktop 6 on Mac. On the mac, I use /etc/hosts : 127.0.0.1 mysite and it works fine : I can type mysite in the url and the website will display. What I want to do is be able to reproduce the same on Win7 with IE8 for example. Another guy did it successfully here but I can't : Parallels: How to see a Mac-hosted website from Windows? On Mac : ifconfig -a vnic0 10.211.55.2 on Win7 I tried this C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts 10.211.55.2 mysite What am I missing ?

    Is there a simple way to recursively find all files in a directory hierarchy, that do not end in a list of extensions? E.g. all files that are not *.dll or *.exe UNIX/GNU find, powerful as it is, doesn't seem to have an exclude mode (or I'm missing it), and I've always found it hard to use regular expressions to find things that don't match a particular expression. I'm in a Windows environment (using the GnuWin32 port of most GNU tools), so I'm equally open for Windows-only solutions.

  • How to force emacs to use \n instead of \r\n

    I have to use windows to write some shell scripts. I decided to use emacs, but I get a weird error when running the script: /bin/bash^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like the shebang ends in \r\n instead of just \n. How can I tell emacs to only write \n? I'm in Shell-script major mode. It's quite surprising this isn't fixed by default.

  • Switch 302 redirect to 301 with Apache 2 ProxyPass in front of Tomcat 6

    I'm trying to optimise my site for SEO and it seems as though their is a 302 direct in action for the http requests. I'm hosting my app on a Tomcat 6 server which lies behind an Apache 2 server. I use the ProxyPass method (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/proxy-howto.html) to forward all requests to port 8080 (the port my app is hosted on). I've seen a lot of advice on how to set the redirect type when using the VirtualHost method but none to do with ProxyPass. The app is a Struts app that forwards users on to index.jsp when they hit the base url. Could this also be the issue? I'm grateful for any help on this one! Cheers!

  • Save a single web page (with background images) with Wget

    I want to use Wget to save single web pages (not recursively, not whole sites) for reference. Much like Firefox's "Web Page, complete". My first problem is: I can't get Wget to save background images specified in the CSS. Even if it did save the background image files I don't think --convert-links would convert the background-image URLs in the CSS file to point to the locally saved background images. Firefox has the same problem. My second problem is: If there are images on the page I want to save that are hosted on another server (like ads) these wont be included. --span-hosts doesn't seem to solve that problem with the line below. I'm using: wget --no-parent --timestamping --convert-links --page-requisites --no-directories --no-host-directories -erobots=off http://domain.tld/webpage.html

Background: I am integrating two separate web application that are developed in ASP .NET and JSP/Struts. As such, they are hosted on two different server technologies, namely Win2K3 and Redhat Enterprise Server 5.5. Problem: There is a copy of production data in my test environment with real e-mail addresses. I need to test the e-mail functionality of these applications, but I do not want them to send out actual e-mails. Is there a way to catch and redirect all outgoing e-mails? Ideally, I would like to send all outgoing e-mails to another e-mail (i.e., [email protected]) so my testers can look at them.

But with the options, the thred count increases gradually (even in the burst mode). The machine where SOAPUI is installed is a WinXP machine. Can I actually do the concurrency testing? If so how?     I'm trying to figure out why sometimes the client fails to load objects/requests from a dynamic page served from Apache/MySql/Debian machine. Let's say 13 objects are to be loaded for a total of 185.3 KB load, with no external objects (no DNS lookups) and no other traffic at the same time, randomly some of those object do not load. However, if I perform a refresh, sometimes all of them load or some might fail again. I only have 1Mbps/up and my DNS is been hosted externally (everydns). What could be the reason of this issue? Any comments will be appreciated.

    f# interactive throws System.OutOfMemoryException when loading large objects into memory. Exception is thrown at approximately 1.3 gigs. Data set is 2.2 gigs, and loads fine in debugger mode. Using VS2008 with April 2010 CTP This is mostly a java library that is being used via ikvmc, but if that were an issue, it shouldn't be running in the debugger either.

  • Geben for emacs on Ubuntu 10.04

    I've had geben running perfectly on previous versions of Ubuntu. After the upgrade, and installing the latest version of geben (0.26), it only half works. Specifically, when in context mode, local variables are always marked as undefined. Has anybody successfully gotten geben up and running under Ubuntu 10.04, or is this a bug in geben (I've reported it as one, but thought I'd check here just in case there is a workaround). geben 0.26 xdebug 2.0.5 emacs 23.1.1 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.1 Thanks!

  • How long do you keep session cookies around for?

    Hi, I'm implementing a web app, which uses sessions. I'm using GWT and app engine as my client/server, but I don't think they're doing anything really different than I would do with PHP and apache etc. When a user logs into my web app, I am using HttpSession to start a session for them. I get the session id like this: // From my login servlet: getThreadLocalRequest().getSession(false).getId(); I return the sessionId back to the client, and they store it in a cookie. The tutorial I'm using sets this cookie to 'expire' in two weeks: Cookie.write("sid", theSessionId, 1000 * 60 * 60 * 24 * 14); // two weeks Here's where I'm confused: if the cookie expires in two weeks, then my user will go along using the webapp happily, only to one day browse to my site and be shown a login screen. What are my options? Can I just set no expiration time for this cookie? That way the user would have to explicitly log out, otherwise they could just use the app forever without having to log back in? Or is there a better way to do this? I can't remember sites like Twitter having ever asked me to log back in again. I seem to be permanently logged in. Do they just set no expiration? The webapp isn't protecting any sort of highly sensitive data, so I don't mind leaving a cookie that doesn't expire, but it seems like there must be a better way?     Hi, it is possible to change global mouse cursor from c#? the thing is i use a global hook shortcut key to capture a window like spywindow and i want to change mouse cursor globally when i select my handle and restore it when i click left mouse.
