• htaccess not working as it should

  well, ofcourse its not working, im still a n00b :) this is the code that i have : Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule (.*)\.css - [S=7] RewriteRule (.*)\.jpg - [S=6] RewriteRule ^gallery gallery.html [L] RewriteRule (.*)/(.*)/ index.html?page=$2 [L] RewriteRule (.*)/(.*) index.html?page=$2 [L] RewriteRule (.*)/ index.html?page=$1 [L] RewriteRule (.*) index.html?page=$1 [L,QSA] Now, this works fine, if i try localhost/abc but it wont work if i try localhost/abc/ also, when i try localhost/abc/def (or localhost/abc/def/ for that matter) the css file isnt being included properly. i get an error saying /abc/def/style.css does not exist. :( however, the code doesnt work if i remove the QSA flag from the last rule. this is the code that ive come up with after a lot of googling and reading SO. if anyone can help out i'll be extremely grateful. thanks!

• UITableViewCell select even doesn't work

• Codeigniter PHP - loading a view at an anchor point

  I have a form at the bottom of a long page, if a user fills out the form but it doesn't validate the page is reloaded in the typical codeigniter fashion: $this->load->view('template',$data); however because the form is way down at the bottom of the page I need the page to load down there like you do with HTML anchors. Does anyone know how to do this in codeigniter? I can't use the codeigniter redirect(); function because it loses the object and the validation errors are gone. Other frameworks I've used like Yii you can call the redirect function like: $this->redirect(); which solves the problem because you keep the object. I've tried using: $this->index() within the controller which works fine as a redirect but the validation errors are in another method which is where the current page is loaded from: $this->item($labs) but when I use this it get stuck in a loop Any ideas? I've seen this question a lot on the net but no clear answers. I'm researching using codeigniter "flash data" but think it's a bit overkill. cheers.

I'm thinking about if it's possible to use engine from firefox? Is there some dll library I can use, navigate to the page and go throw DOM of the page?

• Jquery and CSS switching - is this possible?

  I build a css file using PHP which allows me to easily customize the color of many elements. Is it possible for me to "rebuild" the stylesheet and apply it to the page in the DOM using Jquery? eg. <?php if (isset($_POST['mycolor'])){ $myColor = $_POST['mycolor']; } else { $myColor = "blue"; } ?> <style type='text/css'> .style1{ color:<?php $myColor;?>; } </style> Now on my page I have a link you can click called "change color to red" and when you click "red" it does a $.post to my php script, which rebuilds the css including .style1 - and allows the page to change the stylesheet. I haven't tested this but would it even work? If I echo'ed out the new stylesheet after the post into the dom... would it even apply to the page?

  Can you help me with my problem regarding iframe because whenever the iframe is scrolled till end, and the user clicks a control inside the page within iframe, and page content is on the top of the page, the user needs to scroll up the Iframe just to see the content. Are there any properties that I can set or code that I can do so that the Iframe scrollbar goes back to top whenever an event is triggered inside the form??

When I perform the following steps Let the login cookie expire Click on a link that requires a logged in user The user is redirected to the login page Click the browser back button The user is redirected to the login page again Log in using a valid username/password I get this exception Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. This case appears only in safari (windows and mac). The fundamental difference between safari and other browsers is that when we click the back button in step 4, safari shows the login page again, while the other browsers show the previous page the user was working on. Please help in this regard

• CI + Joomla 1.5

  Hi, This is something that I just cooked up with Joomla and CodeIgniter(CI). I Wrote my database intensive application in CodeIgniter and frontend is Joomla. I'm using Jumi(Joomla Extention) so I can include the CI files inside joomla to basically insert the content generated by CI into Joomla articles. Problem is, you can't include CI files directly using JUMI from joomla because CI tends to route the pages so instead of seeing your joomla page with the CI content, you be redirected to the CI page itself. I did a little work around for this : Made an additional page that just basically does cURL to the CI page - gets the data and echos it out. From jumi, I include this cURL page instead. Couple of questions: I've seen at least a few posts that CI + Joomla is difficult to do(link). 1) Do you see any glaring security issues or possible performance issues? 2) Do you know of a better way to implement this? 3) What do you think of this? Do you think this is a good way to do this? There is one component out there that plugs CI with Joomla but it requires you to have a fresh CI install. It allows only one controller & the download link is down as well.

• Large Table in iFrame crashes IE8

  I have a page with an iFrame whose source is an ashx page. The handler takes in 3 arguments through the query string and generates a text/html response containing a table. When the table gets 1700 rows it crashes the IE8 browser. The browser freezes and returns a null reference error. If I take the html that is being rendered and place it inside a DIV on the page it renders fine in IE8. Any suggestions?

  I am receiving an error that states: "The HTTP verb POST used to access path '[my path]' is not allowed.". The error is being caused by the fact that I am implementing an HTML form element that uses the POST method and does not explicitly define an .aspx page in its ACTION parameter. For example: <form action="" method="post"> <input type="submit" /> </form> The HTML above is on a file at "/foo/default.aspx". Now, if the user points the URL to the root directory "foo" without specifying the aspx file (i.e. "http://localhost/foo") and then submits the form, the error "The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/foo' is not allowed." will be thrown. However, if the user goes to "http://localhost/foo/default.aspx" and then submits the form, all goes well (even if the ACTION parameter is left empty). Note: If I explicitly add the name of the .aspx (default.aspx) page to the ACTION parameter, no errors are thrown. So the example below works fine regardless if the user defines the name of the file in the URL or not. <form action="default.aspx" method="post"> <input type="submit" /> </form> I was curious as to why the error was being thrown, so I read a Microsoft KB that states This problem occurs because a client makes an HTTP request by sending the POST method to a static HTML page. Static HTML pages do not support the POST method. I suppose the core of the explanation makes sense, however in my case, my form is not being sent to a static html page - it's being sent to the same page that the html form lives on (default.aspx)... this is implicit to an ACTION param that is left empty. Is it possible to configure IIS (or otherwise) that will allow us to do form POSTing and keep the ACTION param empty?

  I'm using webbrowser component to show an page of articles. My webbrowser will, if the user read an article, to mark it like read. So, i'm need to each articles of the page (these articles are dynamic) and verify, in a local xml how articles are read.To article read i'm set a determinated css class,and if not, another css class. To do it, i'm checking all elements of type "DIV" in page using this code line: HtmlElementCollection col = webBrowser.Document.GetElementsByTagName("div"); I'm wanna filter the div's to get only 'divs' that i will change and not all div's of page Somebody can help me? • Accesing server control from withing app_code class

  My question is about how to acces a server control (listbox) that is located in default.aspx. I wish to acces this control in Functions.cs (this class is located in the App_Code folder). My page structures: - 1 masterpage with 1 content holder - Default.aspx (all the controls are within the content place holder) - Functions.cs (located in App_Code) Now when i try to fill up the listbox elements i get the error "object reference not set to an instance of an object." What i have tried to gain acces to this control: (this code is located in Functions.cs in App_Code). • UpdatePanel doesn't Refresh

  I have got a simple page with a HtmlInputHidden field. I use Javascript to update that value and, when posting back the page, I want to read the value of that HtmlInputHidden field. The Value property of that HtmlInputHidden field is on postback the default value (the value it had when the page was created, not the value reflected through the Javascript). I also tried to Register the HtmlInputHidden field with ScriptManager.RegisterHiddenField(Page, "MyHtmlImputHiddenField", "initialvalue") but it still only lets me read the 'initialvalue' even though I (through javascript) can inspect that the value has changed. I tried to hardcoded the rowid and, to my surprise, after postback gridview was exactly the same before the delete but the record was deleted from the database. • Post data with jQuery to ASP.net, am I doing this secure enough?

  For a website I am building, I am using jQuery to post data to Generic Handlers I created for this purpose. Because you need to be logged in, to do most post actions (like 'rate a picture'), I am currently using the following technique: User visits page Page determines if user is logged in On Page_Load the page fills a hidden field with an encrypted string, which contains several needed variables, like User ID, Picture ID (of the picture they are currently viewing), the DateTime when the page was rendered. When the user clicks a "I like this picture"-button, I do a $.ajax post to my Generic Handler, with the encrypted string and the value whether or not they liked the picture. The Generic Handler decrypts the supplied encrypted string and takes a look at the DateTime to determine if it was not too long ago When everything works out, the vote is submitted to the database. In my understanding this is a pretty secure way to handle a situation like this. But maybe I am missing a very important point here. Any advice would be very welcome.

• CSS file not getting downloaded in Visual Studio 2008 SP?

  Hi guys, This might sound a little wierd, but all of a sudden the CSS and Javascript files referenced in my master page are not being downloaded while the page is being rendered. I am working on a ASP.NET MVC project and things were all fine like half an hour ago! Here is what I have in head section of the master page, <link href="/Content/MyCSS.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="/Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> I can see the CSS class intellisense while designing pages. But in the page source I do not see these files being added. I can see the css being applied in the VS designer. I have tried restarting VS, restarting my machine too. Anyone else faced this situation before. I might go crazy now.

• Should an object be fully complete before injected as a dependency?

BUT: I'm ending up with too many dependencies to inject I'm passing in initialized but empty objects I want to limit how many parameters I am passing around I could inject $post(-many) into $thread(one<-), but on that page I'm not looking at a thread, I'm looking at a post I could combine/inject them into a new object Detail If I am injecting an object into another, is it best to have it fully created first? I'm trying to limit how many parameters I have to pass in to a page, but I end up with a circle. // 1, empty object injected via constructor $thread = new Thread; $post = new Post($thread); // $thread is just an empty object $post->load($post_id); // I could now do something like $post->get('thread_id') to get everything I want in $post // 2, complete object injected via constructor $thread = new Thread; $thread->load($thread_id); // this page would have to have passed in a $thread_id, too $post = new Post($thread); // thread is a complete object, with the data I need, like thread name $post->load($post_id); // 3, inject $post into $thread, but this makes less sense to me, since I'm looking at a post page, not a thread page $post = new Post(); $post->load($post_id); $thread = new Thread($post); $thread->load(); // would load based on the $post->get('post_id') and combine.   TLDR When clicking on a link I want to assign a cookie with a name of instrument and a value of the text on the link clicked. Using Jquery.1.4.2.min.js, Jquery.cookie.1.0.js I am trying to create a cookie when a link is clicked (will always link to "page.html"). name of instrument value of the TEXT So far I am trying to use: Link1: <a href="page.html">link1</a> Link2: <a href="page.html">link2</a> Script: $('a[href=page.html]').click(function() { var name = 'instrument'; var value = $(this).text(); $.cookie(name, value, { expires: 365 }); }); When I click the link it just loads the link and no cookie is set. Debugging with firebug, firecookie, firequery. No cookie for instrument or anything along the lines is found. Onload I'll hit the "<a href="page.html">projects</a>" but not the "$.cookie(name, value, { expires: 365 });" at all.

• IE not showing jquery append() images

  Ok, so i took John Raasch's slideshow script and modyfied it too dynamicly fetch images from folders on the server through ajax. The slideshow work like a charm in FF and Chrome but IE is not showing the images. And since IE's javascript debugging possibilities is close to none I cant figure out what is crashing. • javascript unable to locate a form using the ID tag

  Here's my problem: I'm trying to set up a simple mobile contact form with a captcha built in. The page I'm working on can be found here: http://m.lancasterpainting.com/contact.php I'm using the following php contact form: http://www.html-form-guide.com/contact-form/php-email-contact-form.html I want to first say that I'm not the only one to run into this problem. After googling the issue, I've found multiple people struggling with this, but no-one seems to have an answer. Now for the problem... As you can see if you visit the page, each time the page is accessed, an error appears that says "Error: couldnot get Form object contact_form". I cannot--for the life of me--figure out why the javascript can't find the form I pass it. I call the function that generates this error at the top of the page: var frmvalidator = new Validator("contact_form"); The form I'm referencing is as follows in the HTML code: <div data-role="page" data-theme="e" id="contact_form" name="contact_form" data-position="inline"> ... And the function that is called that generates the error can be found in an external .js file here: http://m.lancasterpainting.com/scripts/gen_validatorv31.js Is there something that I am simply not seeing?
