  • [C] Programming problem: Storing values of an array in one variable

    Hello, I am trying to use md5 code to calculate checksums of file. Now the given function prints out the (previously calculated) checksum on screen, but I want to store it in a variable, to be able to compare it later on. I guess the main problem is that I want to store the content of an array in one variable. How can I manage that? Probably this is a very stupid question, but maybe somone can help. Below is the function to print out the value.     i'm trying to follow DRY and i've got some functions i have to reuse. i put them all as static functions in a class and want to use them in another class. what is the best way to make them available to a class. cause i can't extend the class, its already extended. should/could i use composition? what is best practice? thanks!

It seems like a straightforward usage as I am declaring all the values upfront -- no mutation there. But this gives me error: The type 'System.Collections.Immutable.ImmutableDictionary<TKey,TValue>' has no constructors defined How I am supposed to create a new immutable dictionary with static content?

How would you have the wrapper take non-strings and pass them on to WriteLine()?

I started out using Drupal, but started wondering if it was overkill. So, two questions: 1) is it overkill? 2) What CMS would you recommend for a project this simple?

  • Force download through markup or JS

    Lets assume I have a file on a CDN (Cloud Files from Rackspace) and a static html page with a link to that file. Is there any way I can force download this file (to prevent it from opening in the browser -- for mp3s for example)? We could make our server read the file and set the corresponding header to: header("Content-Type: application/force-download") but we have about 5 million downloads per month so we would rather let the CDN take care of that. Any ideas?

The application I'm working with loads one of the libraries at runtime based on some hardware parameters. Unfortunately one of the libraries is configured largely with global variables. I am already using dlsym to load function references but can I used dlsym to load references to these global variables as well?
