    Hi All There is this 3rd party webservice. One of the public webmethods available is a GetDocument() method. This method returns a Document object. The Document object has properties for File(byte[]), ContentType(string) ect. My Question : Can I subscribe to this service using javascript(mootools) + ajax + JSON, return the document object, in this case an excel document, and force the file download?

    I'm working on an application that relies on data that the browser sends within the HTTP headers (and there's no way around this). This also happens to be my first time working with something node.js based, so it's very likely I'm completely missing something simple! Basically what I want to be able to do is call a method on the server from the client, and in that method read the HTTP headers that the client sent.

    This is another exam related question. I want to know how can I use the AssemblyName class to represent an existing assembly that already exists on disk??? I am talking about from the perspective of using the AppDomain's instance method .Load(), that takes an AssemblyName object as a parameter. I know what MSDN has to say about what the .Load() method was designed for but that aside, I still want to know how to use it !!!

  • How do you raise a Java BigInteger to the power of a BigInteger without doing modular arithmetic?

    I'm doing some large integer computing, and I need to raise a BigInteger to the power of another BigInteger. The .pow() method does what I want, but takes an int value as an argument. The .modPow method takes a BigInteger as an argument, but I do not want an answer congruent to the value I'm trying to compute. My BigInteger exponent is too large to be represented as an int, can someone suggest a way to work around this limitation?

    Hello, Say I have a test like: void TestSomething(int someParam) { // Test code } I would like to execute this test with a set of "someParam" values. I could write explicit [Test] fixtures calling TestSomething() with the parameters, which means having N methods for every TestSomething() method. I could write another [Test] method looping on "someParam" values and calling TestSomething(), it means 2 methods for every test, and the test report is not as good as with individual TestSomethingWithXValue() methods. So, is there any way to programmatically generate fixtures for every test methods and input values?

  • Scalable Database Tagging Schema

    EDIT: To people building tagging systems. Don't read this. It is not what you are looking for. I asked this when I wasn't aware that RDBMS all have their own optimization methods, just use a simple many to many scheme. I have a posting system that has millions of posts. Each post can have an infinite number of tags associated with it. Users can create tags which have notes, date created, owner, etc. A tag is almost like a post itself, because people can post notes about the tag. Each tag association has an owner and date, so we can see who added the tag and when. My question is how can I implement this? It has to be fast searching posts by tag, or tags by post. Also, users can add tags to posts by typing the name into a field, kind of like the google search bar, it has to fill in the rest of the tag name for you. I have 3 solutions at the moment, but not sure which is the best, or if there is a better way. Note that I'm not showing the layout of notes since it will be trivial once I get a proper solution for tags. Method 1. Linked list tagId in post points to a linked list in tag_assoc, the application must traverse the list until flink=0 post: id, content, ownerId, date, tagId, notesId tag_assoc: id, tagId, ownerId, flink tag: id, name, notesId Method 2. Denormalization tags is simply a VARCHAR or TEXT field containing a tab delimited array of tagId:ownerId. It cannot be a fixed size. post: id, content, ownerId, date, tags, notesId tag: id, name, notesId Method 3. Methods 1 and 2 should be fast for returning tags by post, but for posts by tag, another lookup table must be made.     What would the proper way be to modify values on the fly as they are loaded into a DataTable by SqlAdapter.Fill()? I have globalized my application's log messages. An integer indicating the event type and serialized data relevant to the event is stored in the database as show below. I'd greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can give me.

    In Java, is there a way (at runtime) to obtain the bytecode which defined a particular class? Put another way, is there a way to obtain the byte[] array passed to ClassLoader.defineClass(String name, byte[] b, int off, int len) when a particular class was loaded? I see that this method is declared final, so creating a custom ClassLoader to intercept class definitions seems out of the question. In the past, I have used the class's ClassLoader to obtain the bytecode via the getResourceAsStream(String) method, but I would prefer a more canonical solution.

    For example, let's use the Add method of the ArrayList class. If I am using the default compiler settings in Visual Studio C# project in which arithmetic overflow is not checked, would ArrayList.Add() throw an OverflowException if I added too many items? Would surrounding the method call with checked or unchecked make any difference? BTW, I would write a test program to determine the answer to this question if I had Visual Studio available to me right now.
