• aspnet membeship logon page and https redirect

  Hello, I have a gridview control that has on onclick event bound to every cell. Once a user clicks on a cell it directs them to a booking confirmation page and passes 3 url variables. This booking page is behind a aspnet membership and thus if the user is not logged in they are served the login page. The login page has a redirect to https connection in the onload event using the IsSecure property. The issue is once the user logs in, then is returned to the booking confirmation page I lose 2 of the url vars. If I remove the https redirect, everything works fine, but the user logs on on a http connection, which is not cool. Appreciate and help thanks Reuben

  I've installed typesafe-stack from http://typesafe.com/stack/download on my ubuntu12, than I created a play project (g8 typesafehub/play-scala) and now I want to add scalatest or scalacheck to my project.   Hello, I am opening a file which has 100,000 url's. I need to send an http request to each url and print the status code. I am using Python 2.6, and so far looked at the many confusing ways Python implements threading/concurrency. I have even looked at the python concurrence library, but cannot figure out how to write this program correctly. Has anyone come across a similar problem? I guess generally I need to know how to perform thousands of tasks in Python as fast as possible - I suppose that means 'concurrently'. Thank you, Igor

  Hey guys, I have an app that uses Spring security and BlazeDS. Flex 3.2 is used for the client app. Generally client app makes service calls using RemoteObjects. However, for certain cases client app is sending a request to a URL. We're using Annotated Controllers for URL mapping.   Hi, I'm using the Boxy jQuery plugin to open dialog windows and populating it through ajax. http://onehackoranother.com/projects/jquery/boxy/ Here's my code so far: $("a.create").click(function (e) { url = $(e.target).attr('href'); Boxy.load(url, {title:'Test'}); }); This opens up a dialog alright. However, if I click the link again, another dialog will open. How can I make it such that the previously opened Boxy dialog will come into focus? I only want one instance of this dialog. I tried assigning a variable to var ele = Boxy.load(); but the variable ele returns undefined... Alas, I can't make out much from the limited Boxy documentation available. Enabling the option modal: true would prevent the user from clicking on the link multiple times, but I don't want the overlay to show. Thanks for any light you can shed on this. -Lyon

I need that so I can identify an user. Any ideas on how I could submit the whole url ? I don't want to change this method, by design is much complex than I told you here. It's a simple version. • Tomcat cookies not working via my ProxyPass VirtualHost

  Hi there. I'm having some issues with getting cookies to work when using a ProxyPass to redirect traffic on port 80 to a web-application hosted via Tomcat. My motivation for enabling cookies is to get rid of the "jsessionid=" parameter that is appended to the URLs. I've enabled cookies in my context.xml in META-INF/ for my web application. When I access the webapplication via http://url:8080/webapp it works as expected, the jsessionid parameter is not visible in the URL, instead it's stored in a cookie. When accessing my website via an apache2 virtualhost the cookies doesn't seem to work because now "jsessionid" is being appended to the URLs. How can I solve this issue?   Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with a question i have relating to Basic HTTP Authentication in an Xcode 2.3 application. Basically i have a PHP page that is on our server and when called with certain parameters returns data relating to the servers condition etc. i have managed to get a small Xcode application working where by it reads the data from the page and populates an NSTextView with the data. however to make sure this information stays safe i have setup basic HTTP Authentication on the page, but i cannot work out how to provide the username and password in XCode. here is my code to retrieve the page. • AJAX: how to get progress feedback in web apps, and to avoid timeouts on long requests?

  This is a general design question about how to make a web application that will receive a large amount of uploaded data, process it, and return a result, all without the dreaded spinning beach-ball for 5 minutes or a possible HTTP timeout. Here's the requirements: make a web form where you can upload a CSV file containing a list of URLs when the user clicks "submit", the server fetches the file, and checks each URL to see if its alive, and what the title tag of the page is. the result is a downloadable CSV file containing the URL, and the result HTTP code the input CSV can be very large ( 100000 rows), so the fetch process might take 5-30 minutes. My solution so far is to have a spinning javascript loop on the client site, which queries the server every second to determine the overall progress of the job. This seems kludgy to me, and I'm hesitant to accept this as the best solution. I'm using perl, template toolkit, and jquery, but any solution using any web technology would be acceptable.

• How to cross-reference many character encodings with ASCII OR UTFx?

  I'm working with a binary structure, the goal of which is to index the significance of specific bits for any character encoding so that we may trigger events while doing specific checks against the profile. Each character encoding scheme has an associated system record. This record's leading value will be a C++ unsigned long long binary value and signifies the length, in bits, of encoded characters. Following the length are three values, each is a bit field of that length. offset_mask - defines the occurrence of non-printable characters within the min,max of print_mask range_mask - defines the occurrence of the most popular 50% of printable characters print_mask - defines the occurrence value of printable characters The structure of profiles has changed from the op of this question. Most likely I will try to factorize or compress these values in the long-term instead of starting out with ranges after reading more. I have to write some of the core functionality for these main reasons. It has to fit into a particular event architecture we are using, Better understanding of character encoding. I'm about to need it. Integrating into non-linear design is excluding many libraries without special hooks. I'm unsure if there is a standard, cross-encoding mechanism for communicating such data already. I'm just starting to look into how chardet might do profiling as suggested by @amon. The Unicode BOM would be easily enough (for my current project) if all encodings were Unicode. Of course ideally, one would like to support all encodings, but I'm not asking about implementation - only the general case. How can these profiles be efficiently populated, to produce a set of bitmasks which we can use to match strings with common characters in multiple languages? If you have any editing suggestions please feel free, I am a lightweight when it comes to localization, which is why I'm trying to reach out to the more experienced. Any caveats you may be able to help with will be appreciated.

• Streaming Video with Blackberry Simulator

  So, I wrote a quick little app for the iphone that takes in an http URL, and plays the .mp4 video located at that URL (it does more than that, of course, but that's the meat of it). Naturally, I wanted to have it on more than just a single mobile platform, so I decided to target Blackberry next. However, I'm running into a lot of problems with the Blackberry Environment. First of all, I learn that I can only download 256k files! I learn how to set that variable in my MDS simulator (and learn that this is NOT a production solution, because any end users will have to have their BES or MDS admin change the setting there). Then, I find a video less than 2 MB I can practice with. Going to the browser prompts me to save the video (rather than it playing in the browser like I expected). After saving the video, it refuses to play, saying it's the wrong format. So. I can't find a reference to IF Blackberry can stream with HTTP (i"ve heard it CAN use RTSP, though, and heard some rumors that it can't use HTTP, which would really suck). I also can't find a reference to what format blackberry uses (although I can find a million programs that will convert one file to the 'blackberry' format). Surely SOMEONE must have tried to stream video with the blackberry before. How did they go about doing so? Is it just a hopeless pipedream? Will I have to go with RTSP? Sorry for the lack of a concrete question...I'm just really lost, and I hate how so many tutorials or forum posts seem to assume I know the capabilities of the Blackberry... Edit: I finally found out that the .3gp (which I'd never heard of ) format is what Blackberry uses. Still have no idea how to stream videos off the web, though. • Why do users have to enter a 7-digit twitter PIN to grant my application access?

  I am implementing some ruby on rails code tweet stuff for my users. I am creating the proper oauth link...something like http://twitter.com/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=y2RkuftYAEkbEuIF7zKMuzWN30O2XxM8U9j0egtzKv But after my test account grants access to twitter, it pulls up a page saying "You've successfully granted access to . Simply return to and enter the following PIN to complete the process. 1234567" I have no idea where the user should enter this PIN and why they have to do that. I don't think this should be a necessary step. Twitter should be redirecting the user to the callback URL I provided in the application settings. Does anyone know why this is happening? UPDATE I found this article that states I need to send my users to this URL (note "authenticate" instead of "authorize"): http://twitter.com/oauth/authenticate?oauth_token=y2RkuftYAEkbEuIF7zKMuzWN30O2XxM8U9j0egtzKv I made the change but Twitter redirects the user to the authorize path after he clicks "Allow" which then gives him the 7 digit PIN again!

  Hi, does anyone knows how do I specify in Ivy something like mirror/mirrorOf in Maven? I'm working with a local Maven proxy (Nexus) and need the tool to specify which of the parent repositories should Nexus proxy be accessing. In Maven I do simply: <mirrors> <mirror> <id>central-mirror</id> <mirrorOf>central</mirrorOf> <url>http://localhost:8081/content/repositories/central</url> </mirror> </mirrors> but I can't find this kind of option in Ivy.

  Make is a standard tools for building software. But make decides whether a target needs to be regenerated by comparing file modification times. Are there any proven, preferably small tools that handle builds not for software but for data? Something that regenerates targets not only on mod times but on certain other properties (e.g. completeness). (Or alternatively some paper that describes such a tool.) As illustration: I'd like to automate the following process: get data (e.g. a tarball) from some regularly updated source copy somewhere if it's not there (based e.g. on some filename-scheme) convert the files to different format (but only if there aren't successfully converted ones there - e.g. from a previous attempt - custom comparison routine) for each file find a certain data element and fetch some additional file from say an URL, but only if that hasn't been downloaded yet (decide on existence of file and file "freshness") finally compute something (e.g. word count for something identifiable and store it in the database, but only if the DB does not have an entry for that exact ID yet) Observations: there are different stages each stage is usually simple to compute or implement in isolation each stage may be simple, but the data volume may be large each stage may produce a few errors each stage may have different signals, on when (re)processing is needed Requirements: builds should be interruptable and idempotent (== robust) when interrupted, already processed objects should be reused to speedup the next run data paths should be easy to adjust (simple syntax, nothing new to learn, internal dsl would be ok) some form of dependency graph, that describes the process would be nice for later visualizations should leverage existing programs, if possible I've done some research on make alternatives like rake and have worked a lot with ant and maven in the past. All these tools naturally focus on code and software build, not on data builds. A system we have in place now for a task similar to the above is pretty much just shell scripts, which are compact (and are a ok glue for a variety of other programs written in other languages), so I wonder if worse is better?
