• Hibernate Query Exception

  I've got a hibernate query I'm trying to get working but keep getting an exception with a not so helpful stack trace. I'm including the code, the stack trace, and hibernate chatter before the exception is thrown. • Silverlight DataStateBehavior, initial value not used

  Hi, I am trying to use the Silverlight DataStateBehavior, it works fine in most cases where I click a button which sets say a 'Selected' Property in the view model to either false or true. The DataStateBehavior then tells the VisualStateManager to go to the relevant state. Like this: <Button...> <i:Interaction.Behaviors> <id:DataStateBehavior Binding="{Binding Selected}" Value="True" TrueState="SelectedVisualState" FalseState="DeselectedVisualState"/> </i:Interaction.Behaviors> </Button> The above works fine. What I am trying to do though is to get it to set the correct state when the application loads, if I were to set the 'Selected' property on the view model to true by default I wouldn't see any changes in the UI until I clicked the button to change the viewmodel property. • jQuery issue - #<an Object> has no method

  I've tried a veriety of jQuery plugins recently and I keep getting this error … … regardless of what plugin I try to use. I've checked the links to the JS files which are all there and working fine. I'm using Drupal if that makes any difference. I've run the plugins away from the main site to demonstrate that they are working and that I am doing things right with 100% success. Any ideas? So far I've looked at two libraries AnaSys Message Objects (link text) Datamation SWIFT Message Suite (link text) Both libraries allow to accomplish the tasks mentioned above but in both cases I'm not really happy. AnaSys uses a internal XML representation for all SWIFT messages which you need to know in order to access the fields of a message. And you need to operate on the DOM of the XML representation, there is no way to say "get the contents of field '50K' of the SWIFT message". And the Datamation library seems to have the nicer API but does not find all errors. So does anyone know other SWIFT libraries to use?

  Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, algo know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file. • cakephp routing problem, plugin routing works but not others

  I'm having a strange routing problem with a site I just uploaded, and I've made a number of changes to test what's happening. It doesn't make any sense. My setup is: - I'm using one plugin, which I've included all the routing in the routes.php file. - I've also included the routes for two other controllers, 'events' and 'updates' they look like this: Router::connect('/login', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'login')); Router::connect('/logout', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'logout')); Router::connect( '/events/', array( 'controller' = 'events', 'action' = 'index')); Router::connect('/updates', array('controller' = 'updates', 'action' = 'index')); What happens when I try to get to 'events' is that I get an error message saying: "Not Found Error: The requested address '/Events' was not found on this server." I've checked the database and it's accessible, through the plugin's model/controller/view. I've also made sure the model/controllers for 'events' and 'updates' are there.   I'm trying to pass a ViewData object from a master page to a view user control using the ViewDataDictionary. The problem is the ViewDataDictionary is not returning any values in the view user control whichever way i try it. The sample code below is using an anonymous object just for demonstration although neither this method or passing a ViewData object works. If for example I have a customer object with a child list of account how do I: Create a display template for the list of accounts, what is the file called? When I'm doing a foreach( var c in Model.Accounts ) how do I call a display temple while in the foreach loop?   All, Getting to grips with ASP.NET MVC. So far, so good, but this one is a little nuts. I have a view model that contains a dictionary of attributes for a hyperlink, used like this: menu = model variable Html.ActionLink(Html.Encode(menu.Name), Html.Encode(menu.Action), Html.Encode(menu.Controller), menu.Attributes, null) The problem is the position of "menu.Attributes" expects an object in the form: new { Name = "Fred", Age=24 } From what I can tell, this anonymous object is actually converted to a dictionary via reflection anyway BUT you can't pass a dictionary to it in the first place!!! The Html generated for the link simply shows the dictionary type. How on earth do I get round this? The whole point is that its general and the controller can have set the menu.Attributes previously....

• WatiN LogonDialogHandlers not working correctly in Windows 7

  I have recently updated to Windows 7, VS2010 and IE8. We have an automation suite running tests against IE using WatiN. These tests require the logon dialog handler to be used in order to log different AD Users into the IE Browser. This works perfectly when using Windows XP and IE8, but now using Windows 7 has resulted in the Windows Security dialog box no longer being recognised, the dialogue box is just being ignored. • WPF ComboBox Binding to non string object

  I'm using MVVM (MVVM Light Toolkit) and have a property on the view model which exposes a list of objects. The objects contain two properties, both strings, which correlate to an abbreviation and a description. I want the ComboBox to expose the pairing as "abbreviation - description". If I use a data template, it does this easily. I have another property on the view model which represents the object that should display as selected -- the chosen item in the ComboBox. I'm binding the ItemsSource to the list, as it represents the universe of available selections, and am trying to bind the SelectedItem to this object. I'm killing myself trying to figure out why I can't get it to work, and feeling more like a fraud by the hour. In trying to learn why this works, I created the same approach with just a list of strings, and a selected string. This works perfectly. So, it clearly has something to do with the typing... perhaps something in choosing equality? Or perhaps it has to do with the data template?   I experiment with a lot of open source software and I've noticed a fair amount of server type applications in the open source world use libevent to facilitate event-based processing rather than spawn multiple threads to handle requests. I also do a lot of .NET programming (it's my core job function), and I'm interested in learning how libevent relates to the .NET event model. Are events in .NET the equivalent of libevent for C programs? Should I try to learn libevent and attempt to use it in custom .NET server applications or is using the standard .NET event model basically the same thing?

  I am currently working with the Microsoft MVVM template and find the lack of detailed examples frustrating. The included ContactBook example shows very little Command handling and the only other example I've found is from an MSDN Magazine article where the concepts are similar but uses a slightly different approach and still lack in any complexity. Are there any decent MVVM examples that at least show basic CRUD operations and dialog/content switching? • Intellij Community can't use http proxy for Maven

  I have Intellij IDEA Community installed on a Linux box that needs to use an authenticated proxy to get to the Internet. I have a system-wide proxy on the box that works, and I have the proxy configured in ~/.m2/settings.xml. Maven correctly uses the proxy when I run try it from the command-line. I have the same proxy configured within Intellij and it gives me the plugins listing correctly. But when I try to sync with the Maven repository withing Intellij I keep getting this: [WARNING] Unable to get resource 'org.codehaus.mojo:hibernate3-maven-plugin:pom:2.2' from repository restlet (http://maven.restlet.org): Authorization failed: Not authorized by proxy. I went to Settings-Maven and put in the proxy info as properties and that didn't work. I can see by looking at those settings that Intellij is reading my ~./m2/settings.xml fine because it knows where my local repo is (it's in a non-standard place). Anyone know how I can get this working?

  We need to insert a web beacon (i know taboo) in to adobe PDFs to know when they are opened, as one of our clients is moving to a model of "giving" their documents away and following up repeat viewers for subscriptions. Its not enough to be able to provide a download, they want to attach the PDF to an email and "blast" to directed recipients (double-opt-in etc). Adding the javascript to the pdf is easy enough: (iText) and the "openAction" event. However the security box pops up and displays: "Security Warning" "Document is trying to connect to 'xxxx.yyy.com' if you trusty the site choose Allow. If do not trust the site choose Block" [help] [allow] [block] I don't think we need to completley overhaul the dialogue box, I just think we need to change the middle text to be more descriptive of why we are doing it.   Hi: This is a strange problem I encountered. I have an window application written in c# to do testing. It has a MDI parent form that is hosting a few children forms. One of the forms launch test cripts by creating processes and capture the scripts output to a text box. Another form open serial port and monitoring the status of the device I am working on(like a shell). If I ran both of them together, the output of the script seems only appear in the text box after the test is done. However, If I don't open the serial port form, the output of the script is captured in real time. Does anyone knows what's causing the problem? I notice the onDataReceived even handler for serial port form has a [SAThread] header to it. Will this cause the serial port thread having higher priority than other processes? Thanks in advance.

• Silverlight: DataContractSerializer cannot handle read only collection properties

  Hey Stackoverflowers :) For our Silverlight Project (SL4) I'm using a Model which might contain Lists (IList<AnotherModel>). According to good practice and rule CA2227:CollectionPropertiesShouldBeReadOnly the IList properties don't have a public setter. We serialize the Model using the DataContractSerializer which is working. But when I try to deserialize, a SecurityException is thrown by DataContractSerializer's ReadObject(Stream) Method, complaining that the target property (pointing to the IList property) cannot be set due to a missing public setter. Since the DataContractSerializer is sealed and neither extendable nor flexible so I currently see no chance to add some kind of additional rules which allow to deserialize the ILists using a foreach-loop on Add() method or some other method of transferring the collection items. I've also tried to dig into DataContractSerializer source (using Reflector) to create a little fork but it looks like i'd have to dig very deep and replicating whole serialization classes doesn't seem to be a viable solution. Do you see another chance to serialize a List with no public setter using the DataContractSerializer? Thank you very much in advance for your ideas! Thomas

• Silverlight Update/Trigger IValueConverter in Listbox DataTemplate in a DataGrid

  Hi I am building an application to display a datagrid bound to an ObservableCollection of Records, where each record has a Course Object and an ObservableCollection of Results Objects. The course is changed using an autocomplete box. The results collection is displayed in a Listbox with an IValueConverter implementation to change the colour of the ellipse template based on criteria of the course currently selected. It works great on loading, but subsequent updates to the course selection via the autocomplete does not trigger a recalculation/refresh of the value converter. Is there a way to trigger the refresh in XAML. I added UpdateSource=Property changed to the binding of the list box - but this caused a stack overflow (haha).   I need to send data to a hardware device over serial port. I'm using a program called serial port tool for os x. After I connect to the device there is a form box where I can type data to send. I have no idea how to format the data. Here is an excerpt from the manual for the device. "The Net Manager Command structure consists of one start byte, one command byte, five bytes of data, and a one byte checksum. • installing visual studio 2005 after 2008 already installed

  I have a machine with VS 2008/Sql 2008 already installed. I now need to install an instance of vs 2005/Sql 2005 for two reasons. The main reason is for reporting Services 2005. All of the report servers are sql 2005. Now to create a SSRS compatible with 2005 do I just need to install Sql Server 2005 and work with it in VS 2008 or do I also need to install VS 2005. The second reason is the off-site team that I am consulting with do not want the project upgraded yet. So without rebuilding the whole box is there a safe way to install VS 2005 on a box that already contains 2008? Same question for Sql Server 2005? Thanks
