  • Learning C bit manipulation

    I didn't know any better name for a title of the question. For ex: on one of my previous questions one answered ((a)-(b))&0x80000000) 31 - this is kind of a too advanced for me and i can't really get what it means. I am not looking just for an answer of that, but i need someone to tell me some books/sites/whatever where i can learn this cool "advanced" tricks in C - and learn how and where to use them respectively too.

    Java 6 API question. Does calling LockSupport.unpark(thread) have a happens-before relationship to the return from LockSupport.park in the just-unparked thread? I strongly suspect the answer is yes, but the Javadoc doesn't seem to mention it explicitly.

    Hi all, I have learnt Python for about a month as a one year's PHPer.And I started from Twisted as I'm working in a corporation supplying webservice.I have finished some simple application such as data transferring service,page images-fetch service etc.But the problem is ,I don't understand the struture of codes I wrote in the programs quite well .Every time I have to write codes by watching an example.And my question is ,should I just try to remember the example code's strutures?Or try to understand them?Suggestions would be very appreciated.     Will .Net 4.0 use a new version of the CLR (v2.1, 3.0) or will it stick with the existing v2.0? Supplementary: Is it possibly going to keep with CLR v2.0 and add DLR v1.0? Update: Whilst this might look like a speculative question which cannot be answered, the VS team appear to be releasing more and more info on VS10 and .Net 4.0 so this may very soon not be the case.     Hi, I'm using a RichTextBox class to make some automatic text formatting. And mz question is, how do I get the RichTextBox to put some string immediately after the caret. When I use RichTextBox.CaretPosition.InsertTextInRun("some string") the text is inserted after the current logical block, but I need to be insterted immediately after the caret, in the middle of a Run block. I hope it's clear, thx very much.

    How do I get an outline view in sublime code editor for Windos? http://www.sublimetext.com/ The minimap is helpful but I miss a traditional outline (a klickable list of all the functions in my code in the order they appear for quick navigation and orientation) Maybe there is a plugin, addon or similar? It would also be nice if you can shortly name which steps are neccesary to make it work. From the above example, my understanding is that both P_Id, LastName together represents a Primary Key for the table Persons, correct ? Another question is why would some one want to use multiple columns as Primary keys instead of a single column ? How many such columns can be used in together as Primary key in a given table ?     I am looking into solutions for providing multiple login methods to my site. I found rpxnow.com and they map user accounts from all the different networks. My question is how do they know that I am user1 on twitter and bigdude2 on facebook? I'm hoping it goes beyond email lookups. The end result I want is a unique user in my database no matter what account they sign in with, dupes are a no-no, but most likely inevitable I am guessing.

  • Why must we "change temporary credentials for token credentials" in OAuth?

    Can't the server just "upgrade" the temporary credentials to token credentials and retain the same key and secret? The client can then start doing authenticated calls right away after the recieving the callback from the server stating that the temporary credentials has been "upgraded". Of cause if the temporary credentials have not be upgrade (i.e. client doesn't wait for callback) the authenticated call fails. So the question is why make an extra call to the server after the callback to "exchange" temporary credentials for token credentials?

    Hey, I've a TimeZoneInfo object and from this one I want to create a TIME_ZONE_INFO struct. Bias, StandardDate and Daylightdate are pretty easy to obtain. However, I'm having problems getting standardbias and daylightbias. So the question is, How can I get the standardbias from a TimeZOneInfo object and how can I get the same thing for daylightbias (there is a AdjustmentRule.DaylightDelta, but as you can see I need the offset not the delta).     How to solve this error message in Xtrareport , I am confused. I am binding to a XrLabel and this is the code Report.DataBindings.Add(New DevExpress.XtraReports.UI.XRBinding("empid", myds, "empno")) ` where empid is the Xrlabel text and myds is datasource , and empno is the data field where this data will be displayed on XrLabel(empid). when I debug it gives me error ' invalid property or parameter class '. Any help will be appreciated. Is my question clear ?
