    Hi everyone, I am working using richfaces 3.3.3 , tomcat 6. when i try to access my application using IE6 and the windows language is set to arabic, i get the following exception: IllegalArgumentException: Parameter "size" for convert from HTML to java can not be decoded: [1px], reason: Unparseable number: "1px". when i change the windows language back to english, restart the server and try to log in again everything works fine.. Can anybody please help me with this issue

    Consider an object declared in a method: public void foo() { final Object obj = new Object(); // A long run job that consumes tons of memory and // triggers garbage collection } Will obj be subject to garbage collection before foo() returns? UPDATE: Previously I thought obj is not subject to garbage collection until foo() returns. However, today I find myself wrong. I have spend several hours in fixing a bug and finally found the problem is caused by obj garbage collected! Can anyone explain why this happens? And if I want obj to be pinned how to achieve it?     I am attempting to add an "export to CSV" feature to a webapp that displays data from a MySQL database. I have a written a "queryExecuter" class to execute queries from my servlet.     I am using MySql ODBC driver with .Net 3.5. I have created a stored procedure in MySQl which accepts around 15 parameters with types like datetime, varchar, Int32, Int64 etc.. When I run the SP from the query window with the arguments provided, it runs fine. But whwn I test using the .Net application, it gives exception with "Memory allocation error", MySQL native error code is 4001. Any help will be much appreciated.

    I often want to include default values in Puppet templates. I was hoping that given a class like this: class myclass ($a_variable=undef) { file { '/tmp/myfile': content => template('myclass/myfile.erb'), } } I could make a template like this: a_variable = <%= a_variable || "a default value" %> Unfortunately, undef in Puppet doesn't translate to a Ruby nil value in the context of the template, so this doesn't actually work. What is the canonical way of handling default values in Puppet templates? I can set the default value to an empty string and then use the empty? test... a variable = <%= a_variable.empty? ? "a default value" : a_variable %> ...but that seems a little clunky.

    Hi there, I'm trying to find out an SVN command that would return some kind of true / false value depending on wether the user running it has access to a given repository. I'm building a tool for automated deployment and part of the process is checking out the code from the SVN repository. I'd like to find out if the user running the tool has a valid login already. If there's no valid login, just show a message and exit the tool (handling the SVN login internally is not an option at the moment). Plan B would be parsing the file in svn.simple looking for the repo URL, but thought about asking first. Thanks, Juan

    Evaluating a third party data processing tool, I have bumped into a case where some WinZip files cause an exception: Caused by: gnu.java.util.zip.ZipException: Unknown compression method 98 at gnu.java.util.zip.ZipFile.getInputStream(ZipFile.java:470) I have seen this with files created with WinZip 11.2 and newer. What's the latest version of WinZip (or compatible compression method) that the zip.dll can handle? I've been hunting for some reference on this, but other than unversioned source code, I have had little luck so far.
