• trying to convert rails 2.3.4 app to rails 3 but views not appearing

  I have a simple rails 2.3.4 application I am trying to get running with rails 3.0.0-beta2. I have the server running and all my links and navigation showing, however for some reason the content of my views is not displaying. When I navigate to Site/index the html in my index.html.erb in my site view is completely ignored. There are no errors in the server log. My template is rendered properly (where all the links and navigation are being created) within application.html.erb however all of my actual view files are being ignored. Has anyone experienced this? I am using old style routing with map.connect, could this be the issue? Does anyone have a tutorial on how to convert old routes to new ones? I couldn't figure it out. my current routes look like this: map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' map.root :controller => :site, :action => :index

• Do I need afxres.h, if I am not using MFC? How do I remove it from the .RC script?

  I don't know RC scripts. I want to include Product version, File version, etc. metadata into a DLL I'm building. I'm using an .rc file to do that. The build is makefile driven. I'm following along with an example .rc scrpit I found. The template .rc file includes afxres.h , but I don't think I need that. But if I just remove it I get a bunch of compile errors. What does a basic, non-MFC RC script look like? • How to update an XBAP’s config file after deployment

  Hi All, Here is my scenario and would love any feedback. We have a WPF XBAP application which gets hosted on our customer's IIS server on which we as a vendor do not have any control over. So as a part of configuration, clients first need to configure the WCF service to point to the proper endpoints. Default location for the service is say "http://localhost/XYZ.svc" which needs to change to proper adderess such as "http://USC.intl.edu/XYZ.svc" (offcourse our service is not called XYZ, just using that name as an example). Problem in our test scenario is as soon as we change these values in the config file (Appname.exe.config) the manifest file becomes invalid and we start getting errors. The solutions that I have looked at talk about mageui.exe. Our clinets may not have this utility. So how can we achieve this without using this utility and have the app be configurable. • ASP.NET Ajax.BeginForm Posts Even If Validation Fails

  I'm just overlooking something simple... but my form, which is an Ajax form, always submits even if the validation fails. I'm not using jQuery validation, just the standard .NET MVC validation. Each of the field failing get show the validation message and highlight the field, but the form just submits anyway. Is there an OnBegin script I can call to prevent the form from submitting if there are errors? Thanks for the help! • Cognos 8.3 - date prompt macro problem

  In Report Studio 8.3, I've got this raw SQL query running against a MySQL 5.1 data source: SELECT enc.encounterID, enc.date FROM enc WHERE enc.date between #prompt('textPromptStartDate')# AND #prompt('textPromptEndDate', 'date')# This produces text prompts for the user. If the user enters dates into these prompts in the format of 'YYYY-MM-DD', e.g. '2010-01-15', the query works fine. But I want to replace the text prompts with proper Date prompts. When I try replacing the above prompts with #prompt('datePromptStartDate', 'date') AND #prompt('datePromptEndDate', 'date')# the query runs (no errors are generated), but I get an empty result set. I have a feeling I need to adjust the date format that the date prompt macro returns, but I'm stuck after many hours of experimentation as to how to debug this.

If Bouncycastle is shipped along with SDK, what should i do to avoid these errors? I am using Android 1.6, eclipse-V3.4.0 on winXP . Thanks in advance

• Set Proxy Credential in Web Browser Control

  I am working on a legacy code where an application uses AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser (NOT System.Windows.Forms.Control) to open up web pages and am extending it to take proxy into considerations. I have following example on http://www.pinvoke.net/default.aspx/wininet/internetsetoption.html to use InternetSetOption() to go through specified proxy and tested that it works. Now the hurdle is I tried everything but failed to pass username and password with following code: //-- Set Proxy Username bool resultF = InternetSetOption(IntPtr.Zero, INTERNET_OPTION_PROXY_USERNAME, username, username.Length+1); var errorF = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); //-- Set Proxy Password bool resultG = InternetSetOption(IntPtr.Zero, INTERNET_OPTION_PROXY_PASSWORD, password, password.Length+1); var errorG = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); Both resultF and resultG return true and has no errors but it still working. • MinGW/G++/g95 link problem - libf95 undefined reference to `MAIN_'

  Hi folks, Summing up, my problem consists on compiling g95 objects inside a C++ application. Actually, I'm constructing an interface for an old fortran program. For this task, I'm using the wxWidgets GUI library, and calling fortran subroutines when necessary. At the beginning, I was developing the entire project compiling my fortran files with gfortran (which comes with GCC) and linking them with my app by the g++ -o... command. Everything was working fine but some numbers values calculated by my fotran subroutines returned NAN values. Doing some research, I realized that compiling my fortran files with gfortran with the -m32 flag, generates this NAN values problem. Although compiling with -m64 flag, my code works properly well. The only trouble here is that my App should be 32bits and then I tryed another compiller. Here I found g95 Fortran compiler, which compiles my fortran code and gives the right output on a 32bits environment. Finishing, I don't have a main method implemented because this is managed by wxWidgets, and my fortran subroutines can not have a main function because this is a C++ program calling fortran functions. There are no errors on the console or on the page, but it doesn't work either! Before I was using $(function() { $('ul a').pjax('section') }); and $('document').ready(function(){ $('ul a').pjax('section') }); But when I don't use either of those and just use $('ul a').pjax('section') I see this error in the console: Uncaught no pjax container for section in jquery.pjax.js (line: 353) Could I get some help with this? • Creating sub-applications within applications in IIS/ASP.Net

  I am basically trying to do the same thing as this question, create a new application within a folder so it could be accessed as follows. * http://www.domain.com/ < Main App * http://www.domain.com/newapp < New App The problem is that newapp is reading the web.config from the Main App, which is causing errors because it doesn't have all the same dlls etc. For New App, in IIS, the starting point is set at /newapp, so I am not sure why it is reading the web.config from / at all. It is set as it's own application. I am testing this in IIS6 on XP Pro, so not sure if that makes a difference. The Main App is dotnet 1.1, and New App is 3.0.

  The following is a basic log4j configuration inside Config.groovy using the log4j DSL with Grails 1.2, it works as expected (log all errors to the given file): log4j = { appenders { file name:'file', file:"c:/error.log" } error 'grails.app' root { error 'file' } } How would one translate this into a properties style log4j configuration file? The following does not work: log4j.rootLogger=ERROR, FA log4j.appender.FA=org.apache.log4j.FileAppender log4j.appender.FA.File=C:/error.log log4j.logger.grails.app=ERROR, FA I suspect it has something to do with the translation of error 'grails.app' but I really don't know. If it makes any difference, the properties file is configured externally: grails.config.locations = ["file:${basedir}/extconf/log4j.properties"] All I really want is an external log4j properties file which logs all application exceptions to a file.

  I'm using the new d:DesignInstance feature of the 4.0 series WPF tools. Works great! Only issue I'm having is: how can I set properties on the instance? Given something like this: <Grid d:DataContext="{d:DesignInstance plugin:SamplePendingChangesViewModel, IsDesignTimeCreatable=True}"/> How can I set properties on the viewmodel, aside from setting them in its default ctor or routing it through some other object initializer? I gave this a try but VS gives errors on compile "d:DataContext was not found": <Grid> <d:DataContext> <d:DesignInstance IsDesignTimeCreatable="True"> <plugin:SamplePendingChangesViewModel ActiveTagIndex="2"/> </d:DesignInstance> </d:DataContext> For the moment I'm going back to using a resource and 'd:DataContext={StaticResource SampleData}', where I can set the properties in the resource. Is there a way to do it via a d:DesignInstance?

  I'm testing CeGCC, that is a gcc built to cross-compile applications to Windows CE devices. • WCF/C# Unable to catch EndpointNotFoundException

  Hi all, I have created a WCF service and client and all works until it come to catching errors. Specifically I am try to catch the EndpointNotFoundException for when the server happens not to be there for whatever reason, I have tried performing a simple try catch block catching the specific error and the communication exception it derives from and I've tried catching just Exception. None of these succeed in catching the exception, however I do get A first chance exception of type 'System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException' occurred in System.ServiceModel.dll in the output window when the client tries to open the service. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

  Is there any good tutorial that has all the basic rules for writing queries to store $_Post vars from php to mysql? Like when to use backticks and singleqoutes, and how to safely write code with functions like get_magic_quotes_gpc()? Another thing is, assuming there is no javascript validation(since the user can easily turn it off), how should I handle empty form fields being sent as empty $_post variables and throwing errors? Do I have to use isset() call on all the post variables? What is the best way to handle users turning off javascript validation on a form?

• Cannot find System.Web.Script.Service namespace error after upgrading to Visual studio 2010

  I've just upgraded a VS 2008 project to VS 2010, converting the project but keeping the target as .NET 3.5 (SP1 is installed). My project worked without issue under VS 2008 on another machine. I've added references to System.Web.Extensions.dll but I'm still getting the following errors from code in the App_Code folder: 1) Cannot find System.Web.Script.Service namespace 2) Type 'System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService' is not defined. 3) Type 'System.Runtime.Serialization.Json.DataContractJsonSerializer' is not defined. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be as I'm pretty stumped? :(

  Hi All, I tried to create linq-to-sqlite dbml using DbLinq but in vain. Each time I get different type of errors. May be I'm somewhere wrong. Can anyone tell me the step by step procedure to create the dbml file from the Dblinq source code. Edit: Steps I Followed: I downloaded the source file from this link. Edited the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file in \\DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder as 'DbMetal.exe -database:myDb.db3 -namespace:myNS -code:myCode.cs' -dbml:myDbml.dbml Tried to run the DbMetal project file to produce the executable but there was a runtime error since Options object in Parameters.cs was null. Hence downloaded the readymade exe file from this location Copied it into the \DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder Executed the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file I got a blank screen and Windows Error Msg "DbLinq has stopped Working" Any help? • Qt static build with static mysql plugin confusion

  I have built a Qt application which uses the MySQL library, but I am confused by the documentation on static versus shared builds. From the Qt documentation at http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/deployment-windows.html it says: To deploy plugin-based applications we should use the shared library approach. And on http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/deployment.html, it says: Static linking results in a stand-alone executable. The advantage is that you will only have a few files to deploy. The disadvantages are that the executables are large and with no flexibility and that you cannot deploy plugins. To deploy plugin-based applications, you can use the shared library approach. But on http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/plugins-howto.html, it seems to say the opposite, giving directions on how to use static plugins: Plugins can be linked statically against your application. If you build the static version of Qt, this is the only option for including Qt's predefined plugins. Using static plugins makes the deployment less error-prone, but has the disadvantage that no functionality from plugins can be added without a complete rebuild and redistribution of the application. ... To link statically against those plugins, you need to use the Q_IMPORT_PLUGIN() macro in your application and you need to add the required plugins to your build using QTPLUGIN. I want to build the Qt libraries statically (for easy deployment) and then use the static MySQL plugin. To do this, I did NOT use the binary distrubtion for Windows. Instead, I've started with the source qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.7.4 Is the following the correct way to do a static build so that i can use the static MySql plugin? configure -static -debug-and-release -opensource -platform win32-msvc2010 -no-qt3support -no-webkit -no-script -plugin-sql-mysql -I C:\MySQL\include -L C:\MySQL\lib This should build the Qt libraries statically AND the static plugin to be linked at run-time, correct? I would NOT need to build the Mysql Plugin from source separately, correct? If I was to subtitute "-qt-sql-mysql" for "-plugin-sql-mysql" in above, it would include the MySQL driver directly in the QT static libraries, in which case I would NOT need to use the plugin at all, correct?   Hello, Is there a way to modify the HTTP response code when using apache axis 1.4 for java? This would be useful for testing purposes, for example simulating server side errors. I've already tried the following: Set the HTTP code directly in the http servlet Request: MessageContext context = MessageContext.getCurrentContext(); HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) context.getProperty( HTTPConstants.MC_HTTP_SERVLETRESPONSE); response.setStatus(e.getErrorCode()); // no effect Set the HTTP code as axis message context property: MessageContext context = MessageContext.getCurrentContext(); context.setProperty(HTTPConstants.MC_HTTP_STATUS_CODE, e.getErrorCode()); But this didn't seem to work, the actual HTTP code always was 200. • PHP File Upload second file does not upload, first file does without error

  So I have a script I have been using and it generally works well with multiple files... When I upload a very large file in a multiple file upload, only the first file is uploaded. I am not seeing an errors as to why. I figure this is related to a timeout setting but can not figure it out - Any ideas? " I tried to use php cURL + dom but I'm getting a lot of errors like this "htmlParseEntityRef: expecting ';' in Entity, line: 243" and no result displayed Also I tried to use preg_match or preg_match_all but doesn't work either .
