  • Retrieving accessors in IronRuby

    - by rsteckly
    I'm trying to figure out how to retrieve the value stored in the Person class. The problem is just that after I define an instance of the Person class, I don't know how to retrieve it within the IronRuby code because the instance name is in the .NET part. /*class Person attr_accessor :name def initialize(strname) self.name=strname end end*/ //We start the DLR, in this case starting the Ruby version ScriptEngine engine = IronRuby.Ruby.CreateEngine(); ScriptScope scope = engine.ExecuteFile("c:\\Users\\ron\\RubymineProjects\\untitled\\person.rb"); //We get the class type object person = engine.Runtime.Globals.GetVariable("Person"); //We create an instance object marcy = engine.Operations.CreateInstance(person, "marcy");

  • How to create virtual Environment for users on server

    - by Bhushan Nagaonkar
    I have a web application where users can register them self and then save Java and C++ programs in their account. Programs are saved in a tmp directory like, /tmp -user1 --program1 --program2 -user2 --program1 --program2 So all the users folders are in same "tmp" directory. I want to know how can I proved security by not allowing a user to access files of other users. A user will be executing a java or c++ program in his folder which can be used to read files on the server. How to prevent this? I am new to this thing I don't know how to go about this. The server is Linux server and project is in python using Django. Thank in advance

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS on startAsynchronous request using ASIFormDataRequest

    - by user280556
    I am getting EXC_BAD_ACCESS on the Line: [asiUsernameRequest startAsynchronous]; in this code. Spent hours trying to figure it out, but no solution. Any idea? • NSPredicate error/behaving differently on 10.5 vs 10.6

    - by Tristan
    I am using a NSPredicate to determine if an entered email address is valid. On 10.6 it works perfectly as expected. I recently decided to get my app going on 10.5 and this is the only thing that doesn't work. The error i get is as follows: "Can't do regex matching, reason: Can't open pattern U_MALFORMED_SET (string [email protected], pattern ([\w-+]+(?:\.[\w-+]+)*@(?:[\w-]+\.)+[a-zA-Z]{2,7}), case 0, canon 0)" The code im using is as follows: NSString *regex = @"([\\w-+]+(?:\\.[\\w-+]+)*@(?:[\\w-]+\\.)+[a-zA-Z]{2,7})"; NSPredicate *regextest = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"SELF MATCHES %@", regex]; if ([regextest evaluateWithObject:[userEmail objectValue]] == YES) Does anyone know why this isn't working on 10.5? And how I might get it working or be able to do this test in a way compatible for both 10.5 and 10.6?

  • Help with complex sql query

    - by eugeneK
    To make story short, i'm building self-learning banner management system. Users will be able to insert these banners to their site when banners will be shown based on sales/impressions ratio. I have 4 tables Banners bannerID int bannerImage varchar.... SmartBanners smartBannerID int smartBannerArrayID int bannerID int impressionsCount int visibility tinyint (percents) SmartBannerArrays smartBannerArrayID int userID int Statistics bannerID int saleAmountPerDay decimal... Each night i need to generate new "visibility" for each SmartBanner based on whole SmartBannerArray that same user has. So i need to get sum of impressions and sales for each bannerID in SmartBannerArray. All comes to my mind is to use double cursor, one will loop thought SmartBannerArrays get needed values for sum of impressions and sales and then inner loop which will access each SmartBanner and change it's "visibility" percentage based on (sales/impressions)/(sumOfSales/sumOfImpressions)*100 Hope you get the picture... Is there any other way to design better tables or not to use double cursor to avoid server overload ?

  • Cocoa touch SDK 3.2 - How to play video

    - by teepusink
    Hi, How do I play video on SDK 3.2 (iPad)? Read many questions here but they talked mostly for iPhone. For example, the MoviePlayer example here http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/samplecode/MoviePlayer_iPhone/Introduction/Intro.html That works on 3.1.3 but when I run it on 3.2, it doesn't work. So basically I'm able to play a video on 3.1.3 using this code but the same code won't run on 3.2 NSString *moviePath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"Movie.mp4"]; MPMoviePlayerController *moviePlayer = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:moviePath]]; moviePlayer.movieControlMode = MPMovieControlModeDefault; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(movieFinishedCallback:) name:MPMoviePlayerPlaybackDidFinishNotification object:moviePlayer]; [moviePlayer play]; Thanks, Tee

I currently have this listener function in my global html file: function numberChanged() { if(event.key == "number") alert("Number has changed!"); } safari.self.addEventListener("change", numberChanged, false); I hope somebody can help me. Does somebody know what I'm doing wrong?

  • NOOB Memory Problem - EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by Michael Bordelon
    I have been banging my head against the wall for a couple days and need some help. I have a feeling that I am doing something really silly here, but I cannot find the issue. This is the controller for a table view. I put the SQL in line to simplify it as part of the troubleshooting of this error. Normally, it would be in an accessor method in a model class. It gets through the SQL read just fine. Finds the two objects, loads them into the todaysWorkout array and then builds the cells for the table view. The table view actually comes up on the scree and then it throws the EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I ran instruments and it shows the following: 0 CFString Malloc 1 00:03.765 0x3946470 176 Foundation -[NSPlaceholderString initWithFormat:locale:arguments:] 1 CFString Autorelease 00:03.765 0x3946470 0 Foundation NSRecordAllocationEvent 2 CFString CFRelease 0 00:03.767 0x3946470 0 Bring It -[WorkoutViewController viewDidLoad] 3 CFString Zombie -1 00:03.917 0x3946470 0 Foundation NSPopAutoreleasePool Here is the source code for the controller. I left it all in there just in case there is something extraneous causing the problem. • Sprite backgrounds

    - by Mattias Akerman
    I use cocos2d for iphone and in my game I'm using a sprite as static background image. I've noticed that when removing code for adding the sprite the framerate goes from ~30fps to over 40fps. Is it any other way to show a static background that is less expensive? I'm not moving the background sprite at all. To code right now: background = [Sprite spriteWithFile:@"t1_5.jpg"]; [self addChild:background z:0]; background.position = ccp(240, 160);

  • Is System.AddIn mostly about making it easier to use Remoting or does it make it harder to do so?

    - by MatthewMartin
    It takes at least 7 assemblies and restricting my AddIn's data model to data types that remoting can deal with before the appdomain isolation features begin to work. It is so complex! The System.AddIn teams blog implies to me they were trying to re-create a mental model of COM, a model I never understood very well in the first place and am not sold on the benefits. (If COM is so good why's it dead?-rhetorical question.) If I don't need to mirror or interop with legacy COM (like VSTO does using System.AddIn), is it possible to just create some classes that load load in a new AppDomain? I can write the discovery code my self, I've done it before and a naive implementation is pretty fast because I'm not like iterating over the assemblies in the GAC! So my specific question is, can I get the AppDomain isolation that AddIns provide with a few code Remoting snippets, and what would those be?

  • Check if hydrated doctrine result is NULL

    - by iggnition
    Hi, I'm trying to check if a result in my DQL is NULL. I got the following DQL query: $q = self::createQuery("l") ->select('i.*, s.aantal, m.naam, c.cat_naam, a.app_id') ->from('InstalledBase i, i.Spare s, i.Apparaat a, a.Categorie c, a.Merk m') ->execute(); return $q; Now i want to check if the s.aantal is NULL so i do: if(is_null($installedbase->Spare->spare_id)) when the variable is NOT null everything works, but when it is actually NULL i get a E notice message: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in \installedbase\templates\_index.php on line 29 It does see that it is null though because the if condition is executed. Weird thing is i'm doing the exact same thing on another page where it works no problem. But i must be doing something wrong or stupid since those messages generally don't show for nothing. So can anybody explain this to me? :)

  • iPhone modal view inside another modal view?

    - by Rick
    My App uses a modal view when users add a new foo. The user selects a foo type using this modal view. Depending on what type is selected, the user needs to be asked for more information. I'd like to use another modal view to ask for this extra information. I've tried to create the new modal view like the first one (which works great) and it leads to stack overflow/“Loading Stack Frames” error in Xcode. Am I going about this in completely the wrong way i.e. is this just a really bad idea? Should I rethink the UI itself? UINavigationController *navigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:addController]; [self presentModalViewController:navigationController animated:YES];

  • touches event handler for UIImageView

    - by madmik3
    I am just getting stated with iPhone development and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for what I want to do. It seems like I should be able to programmatically create a UIImageView and then set up an event handler for it's touch functions. in c# i would have something that looks like Button b = new Button(); b.Click+= my handler code right now I have this CGRect myImageRect = CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 141.0f, 151.0f); UIImageView *myImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:myImageRect]; myImage.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [myImage setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"myImage.png"]]; myImage.opaque = YES; // explicitly opaque for performance [self.view addSubview:myImage]; [myImage release]; What do I need to do to override the touch events? thanks

  • iphone - passing an object on an UIToolbarButton action

    - by Mike
    Is that possible to make a UIToolbarButton pass an object to its target by using some exoteric method (as it seems not to be possible using regular button use)? I mean something like UIBarButtonItem *Button = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithImage:buttonImage style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(doSomething:) **withObject:usingThis**]; I know I can trigger a method that will launch the full method with the object, but for the sake of elegance I was trying to minimize the code... I suspect it is not possible, but as you guys out there are insanely good you may come with an transcendental answer... who knows...

  • set Image to Button

    - by Ivan
    Hello all, Could somebody help me a little bit with my issue below? When I call the myFunction, images which I want to set to buttons appear after 2 sec simultaneously, not one by one with delay of 0.5 sec. More info: generatedNumbers is array with four elements of NSNumber (4,1,3,2) buttons are set in UIView via IB and are tagged (1,2,3,4) -(IBAction) myFunction:(id) sender { int i, value; for (i = 0; i<[generatedNumbers count]; i++) { value = [[generatedNumbers objectAtIndex:i] intValue]; UIButton *button = (UIButton *)[self.view viewWithTag:i+1]; UIImage *img = [UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d.png",value]]; [button setImage:img forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [img release]; usleep(500000); } }

  • Best practices for using memcached in Rails?

    - by Matt
    Hello everybody, as database transcations in our app are getting more and more time consuming, we have started to use memcached to reduce the amount of queries passed to MySQL. All in all, it works fine and really saves a lot of time. But as caching was "silently appearing" as a workaround to give the app more juice, a lot of our models now contain code like this: def self.all_cached Rails.cache.fetch('object_name') { find( :all, :include => [associations]) } end This is getting more and more a pain as filling and flushing the cache happens in several classes accross the application. Now, I was wondering if there was a better way to abstract memcached logic to make it more powerful and easy to use across all needed models? I was thinking about having some kind of memcached-module which is included in all needed modules. But before playing around, I thought: Let's ask experts first :-) Thanks Matt

  • How's my pygame code?

    - by Isaiah
    I'm still getting the hang of lots of things and thought I should post some code I made with pygame and get some feedback^^. I posted code here: http://urlvars.com/code/snippet/39272/my-bouncing-program http://urlvars.com/code/snippet/39273/my-bouncing-program-classes There's tome things that I implemented that I'm not using yet I just realized like a timer at the bottom of the main while loop. If my code isn't readable, I'm sorry, I'm self taught and this is the first code I've ever posted anywhere. By the way I made some variables that take the screensize and half it to find a point to spit out the squares, but when I try to use it, it makes a weird effect :/ Try switching the list i have in the newbyte() function with the halfScreen variable and see it freak out o.O thank you

  • __getattr__ on a module

    How can implement the equivalent of a __getattr__ on a class, on a module? Example When calling a function that does not exist in a module's statically defined attributes, I wish to create an instance of a class in that module, and invoke the method on it with the same name as failed in the attribute lookup on the module. class A(object): def salutation(self, accusative): print "hello", accusative def __getattr__(mod, name): return getattr(A(), name) if __name__ == "__main__": salutation("world") Which gives: matt@stanley:~/Desktop$ python getattrmod.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "getattrmod.py", line 9, in <module> salutation("world") NameError: name 'salutation' is not defined Evidently something is not right about my assumed implementation.

  • iphone not displaying array variables correctly

    I was reading a tutorial on how to do a UIPicker and found this code: - (IBAction)buttonPressed { NSInteger row = [userPicker selectedRowInComponent:0]; NSString *selected = [userPickerData objectAtIndex:row]; NSString *title = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"You selected %a", selected]; UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:title message:@"Thank you for Choosing." delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"You're Welcome" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [alert show]; [alert release]; [title release]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { // [super viewDidLoad]; NSArray *array = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"New", @"Frank", @"Bob", @"Thor", nil]; self.userPickerData = array; [array release]; } The UIPicker displays correctly and the variables in the picker also display correctly. When the button is pressed then the alert message does come up but it says, "You selected.." and then it's a bunch of gibberish. Why aren't the array variables being passed correctly?

  • One off errors with NSLog and NSString stringWithFormat

    - by David Liu
    Does anyone know why there would be one-off errors with NSLog and NSString? It works fine in 99% of my program, but for some reason this error appears in one of my model's description method: Example code: localFileId = 7; type = 2; localId = 5; NSLog(@"CachedFile localId=%d, 2=%d, localFileId=%d, type=%d, path=%@", localId, 2, localFileId, type, self.path); Example Result: CachedFile localId=5, 2=0, localFileId=2, type=7, path=(null) Notice the "0" that gets inserted in there, where it should be "2=2". This happens with NSString stringWithFormat as well.
