• Google App Engine: How do I save uploaded text file to Blob, then read from it line by line?

  I have a huge file (over 16,000 lines) that I want to save in the datastore for parsing later. Each line contains info on an entity. How do I read line by line from the stored Blob? I can't seem to find a good tutorial or documentation on a Blob anywhere. GAE only shows how to deal with images, but I want to read from the stored text file.

  I want to develop a simple search engine, using ASP.NET and C# , where I can search for a word which contained in a very big text (like the Holy Bible or something like that), then the program shows the user where the word is. I have no idea about in which database I can put this large text and using which method will I search for a word. • Is there a way to close a Unix socket for only reading or writing?

  Is there a way to only close "one end" of a TCP socket to cleanly indicate one side of a connection is done writing to the connection? (Just like you do with a pipe in every Unix pipe tutorial ever.) Or should I use some in-band solution like a sentinel value or some such? I only found shutdown() in the libc documentation and that doesn't seem like it does what I want.

• Why must I use local path rather than 'svn://' with SVN bindings?

  I'm using the Ruby SVN bindings built with SWIG. Here's a little tutorial. When I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('/path/to/repository') I can access the repository fine. But when I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('svn://localhost/some/path') It fails with /SourceCache/subversion/subversion-35/subversion/subversion/libsvn_subr/io.c:2710: 2: Can't open file 'svn://localhost/format': No such file or directory When I do this from the command line, I do get output svn ls svn://localhost/some/path Any ideas why I can't use the svn:// protocol?
