  • is it possible to issue dynamic include in asp-classic?

    I mean, like php'h include... something like my_file_to_be_included = "include_me.asp" -- for what I've seen so far, there are a couple of alternatives, but every one of them has some sort of shortcoming... what I'm trying to figure out is how to make a flexible template system... without having to statically include the whole thing in a single file with a loooooong case statement... here there are a couple of links a solution using FileSysmemObject, just lets you include static pages idem yet another one same thing from adobe this approach uses Server.Execute but it has some shortcomings I'd like to avoid... seems like (haven't tried yet) Server.Execute code runs in another context, so you can't use it to load a functions your are planning to use in the caller code... nasty... same thing I think this one is the same this looks promising!!! I'm not sure about it (couldn't test it yet) but it seems like this one dinamycally handles the page to a SSDI component... any idea???

  • Using jQuery, setting Draggable on an element prevents blur from firing when you click the draggable

    Using jQuery, when you set a blur event on a text box and set another element as draggable, when you click the draggable element, the blur event does not fire in FireFox. IE is a little better, you get the blur event but you don't get the click event on the draggable element.   • How do you invoke a python script inside a jar file using python ?

    I'm working on an application that intersperses a bunch of jython and java code. Due to the nature of the program (using wsadmin) we are really restricted to Python 2.1 We currently have a jar containing both java source and .py modules. The code is currently invoked using java, but I'd like to remove this in favor of migrating as much functionality as possible to jython. The problem I have is that I want to either import or execute python modules inside the existing jar file from a calling jython script. I've tried a couple of different ways without success. My directory structure looks like: application.jar |-- com |--example |-- action |-- MyAction.class |-- pre_myAction.py The 1st approach I tried was to do imports from the jar. I added the jar to my sys.path and tried to import the module using both import com.example.action.myAction and import myAction. No success however, even when I put init.py files into the directory at each level. The 2nd approach I tried was to load the resource using the java class. So I wrote the below code: import sys import os import com.example.action.MyAction as MyAction scriptName = str(MyAction.getResource('/com/example/action/myAction.py')) scriptStr = MyAction.getResourceAsStream('/com/example/action/myAction.py') try: print execfile(scriptStr) except: print "failed 1" try: print execfile(scriptName) except: print "failed 2" Both of these failed. So, for example, when the site is sitting at the home page, the menu link would render like this: <li><a class="current" href="/">Home</a></li> Do I have to overload the ActionLink method to do this, or create an entirely new HtmlHelper, or is there a better way? I'm fairly new to MVC, so I'm not sure what is the correct way to go about this. Thanks in advance.

I am describing the company's profile: company is currently having 5 branches and planning to extend their branches all over the country. it is an insurance surveying company. they are dealing with 6 Categories in the insurance domain, vide .. Engineering Fire Marine Motor Miscellaneous Risk Inspection and branches named as b1, b2, b3, b4, b5 and Extending. and finally they have contract with 22 companies. For each claim they are assign a unique ID. like contractcompany/category/serialno Ex: take a contracted company names as xxx, sss, zzz. xxx/Engineering/001 sss/Engineering/001 . . . xxx/Enginnering/002 sss/Engineering/002 . . . xxx/Fire/001 sss/Fire/001 . . . xxx/Fire/002 . . . xxx/Fire/002 . . . and so on..... by this way they issue the unique ID for each claim. Finally what i want is developing the interface with PHP mysql and ajax auto generating the unique id for each claim. store full details of the claims with reference to unique id. show all claims in one page, and they can view by branch wise and category wise. send monthly Report (All claims they have given and status of claims) to contract companies. give access to contracted companies, but they can view only their respective claims. Each claim has its own documents. So they can be uploaded by own company users or administrator. these files are associated with unique ID. contracted companies can view files. Give access to branches to enter new claims and update old claims. Administrator can create, update and delete all the claims and their details. Only administrator can grant new users (own company branches / contracted companies) Finally the the panel is completely database driven. Could any body can help.     I've added the following line to /etc/environment: FOO_DEPLOYMENT_ENV="vbox" Upon logging in via SSH, I can echo $FOO_DEPLOYMENT_ENV and, of course, see vbox output to the shell. If I open a Python shell and run os.getenv('FOO_DEPLOYMENT_ENV'), it will return 'vbox', but the same code in my Python application, when run by uWSGI (as the www-data user), it does not see the environment variable. Clearly, this isn't a problem of uWSGI, and is rather a problem with my understanding of environment variables, or how they're properly set, and the contexts in which they can be retrieved. What am I doing or understanding incorrectly?

    Is it true that a closure is created in the following cases for foo, but not for bar? Case 1: <script type="text/javascript"> function foo() { } </script> foo is a closure with a scope chain with only the global scope. Case 2: <script type="text/javascript"> var i = 1; function foo() { return i; } </script> same as Case 1. Case 3: <script type="text/javascript"> function Circle(r) { this.r = r; } Circle.prototype.foo = function() { return 3.1415 * this.r * this.r } </script> in this case, Circle.prototype.foo (which returns the circle's area) refers to a closure with only the global scope. (this closure is created). Case 4: <script type="text/javascript"> function foo() { function bar() { } } </script> here, foo is a closure with only the global scope, but bar is not a closure (yet), because the function foo is not invoked in the code, so no closure goo is ever created. It will only exist if foo is invoked , and the closure bar will exist until foo returns, and the closure bar will then be garbage collected, since there is no reference to it at all anywhere. So when the function doesn't exist, can't be invoked, can't be referenced, then the closure doesn't exist yet (never created yet). Only when the function can be invoked or can be referenced, then the closure is actually created?

  • How to connect a new query script with SSMS add-in?

    I'm trying to create a SSMS add-in. One of the things I want to do is to create a new query window and programatically connect it to a server instance (in the context of a SQL Login). I can create the new query script window just fine but I can't find how to connect it without first manually connecting to something else (like the Object Explorer). So in other words, if I connect Obect Explorer to a SQL instance manually and then execute the method of my add-in that creates the query window I can connect it using this code: ServiceCache.ScriptFactory.CreateNewBlankScript( Editors.ScriptType.Sql, ServiceCache.ScriptFactory.CurrentlyActiveWndConnectionInfo.UIConnectionInfo, null); But I don't want to rely on CurrentlyActiveWndConnectionInfo.UIConnectionInfo for the connection. I want to set a SQL Login username and password programatically. Does anyone have any ideas? EDIT: I've managed to get the query window connected by setting the last parameter to an instance of System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection. However, the connection uses the context of the last login that was connected instead of what I'm trying to set programatically. That is, the user it connects as is the one selected in the Connection Dialog that you get when you click the New Query button and don't have an Object Explorer connected. EDIT2: I'm writing (or hoping to write) an add-in to automatically send a SQL statement and the execution results to our case-tracking system when run against our production servers. One thought I had was to remove write permissions and assign logins through this add-in which will also force the user to enter a case # canceling the statement if it's not there. Another thought I've just had is to inspect the server name in ServiceCache.ScriptFactory.CurrentlyActiveWndConnectionInfo.UIConnectionInfo and compare it to our list of production servers. If it matches and there's no case # then cancel the query.

The problem is I don't know what to call and where to put it.   • In GWT I'd like to load the main page on www.domain.com and a dynamic page on www.domain.com/xyz - I

    Hi, I have a question for which I'm sure there must a simple solution. I'm writing a small GWT application where I want to achieve this: www.domain.com : should serve the welcome page www.domain.com/xyz : should serve page xyz, where xyz is just a key for an item in a database. If there is an item associated with key xyz, I'll load that and show a page, otherwise I'll show a 404 error page. I was trying to modify the web.xml file accordingly but I just couldn't make it work. I could make it work with an url-pattern if the key in question is after another /, for example: www.domain.com/search/xyz. However, I'd like to have the key xyz directly following the root / (http://www.domain.com/xyz). Something like <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>main</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> doesn't seem to work as I don't know how to address the main page index.html (as it's not an actual servlet) which will then load my main GWT module. I could make it work with a bad work around (see below): Redirecting a 404 exception to index.html and then doing the look up in the main entry point, but I'm sure that's not the best practice, also for SEO purposes. Can anyone give me a hint on how to configure the web.xml with GWT for my purpose? Thanks a lot. The problem is as follows whenever you cause partail postback the popup panels are created client side outside the updatepanel. And you get more clientside controls with the same clientside ID. When you postback with popup panel the server side control eg.   • How to add an image to an SSRS report with a dynamic url?

    I'm trying to add an image to a report. The image src url is an IHttpHandler that takes a few query string parameters. Here's an example: <img src="Image.ashx?item=1234567890&lot=asdf&width=50" alt=""/> I added an Image to a cell and then set Source to External and Value to the following expression: ="Image.ashx?item="+Fields!ItemID.Value+"&lot="+Fields!LotID.Value+"&width=50" But when I view the report, it renders the image html as: <IMG SRC="" /> What am I missing? Update Even if I set Value to "image.jpg" it still renders an empty src attribute. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using this with a VS 2008 ReportViewer control in Remote processing mode. Update I was able to get the images to display in the Report Designer (VS 2005) with an absolute path (http://server/path/to/http/handler). But they didn't display on the Report Manager website. I even set up an Unattended Execution Account that has access to the external URLs.

    Python is one of my favorite languages, but I really have a love/hate relationship with it's dynamicness. Apart from the advantages, it often results in me forgetting to check a type, trying to call an attribute and getting the NoneType (or any other) has no attribute x error. A lot of them are pretty harmless but if not handled correctly they can bring down your entire app/process/etc. Over time I got better predicting where these could pop up and adding explicit type checking, but because I'm only human I miss one occasionally and then some end-user finds it. So I'm interested in your strategy to avoid these. Do you use type-checking decorators? Maybe special object wrappers? Please share...

  • Windows 2008 R2: can't extend C drive, mystery partitions

    I have a Windows 2008 R2 server running under VMware ESX 4.0.0. I have reallocated disk space to it in order to extend the C drive, but Disk Management has "Extend Volume" greyed out. DISKPART shows more partitions than Disk Management shows, including one after the volume I'm trying to extend, which would explain why Disk Management isn't allowing the extension. Disk Management shows: System Reserved / 100MB NTFS / Healthy (System) (C:) / 39.39 GB NTFS / Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump) 10.00 GB / Unallocated DISKPART shows: Partition 1 Dynamic Data 992 KB 31 KB Partition 2 Dynamic Data 100 MB 1024 KB Partition 3 Dynamic Data 39 GB 101 MB Partition 4 Dynamic Data 1024 KB 39 GB My question at this point is: what the heck are partitions 1 and 4, where did they come from, why doesn't Disk Management show them, and, most importantly, can I delete partition 4 in order to extend partition 3?

  • Resolve sibling folder in JavaScript Function

    Hi, I am trying to pass into an JavaScript function two paths for an XML and XSLT. It would appear that in the sample HTML below that the use of "../xsl/filename" does not work for me in the xslt() function. If I specify the path as being "./filename" though this does work. Does anyone know how I can work around this or find some way that I can specify a sibling folder without an absolute path reference? I would prefer not to have to change my file paths as my development environment is set up with the xslt's, sample data and source code structured in a particular way.   • Users database empty after Samba3 to Samba4 migration on different servers

    I have to migrate a Samba 3 to a new Samba 4 server. My problem is that the database on the samba 3 server seems a bit empty. The secrets.dtb file is only 20K whereas the “pbedit -L |wc -l”command give me 16970 lines. On my Samba3 /var/lib/samba is 1,5M After I had migrate the databse (following instructions on http://dev.tranquil.it/index.php/SAMBA_-_Migration_Samba3_Samba4), “pdbedit -L” command on the new server give me only : SAMBA4$, Administrator, dns-samba4, krbtgt and nobody. So I tried to create a VM with a Samba3. I added some users, done the same things I did for the migration and now I can see the users created on the VM. It’s like users on the Samba 3 server are in a sort of cache. I already migrate the /etc/{passwd,shadow,group} files and I can see users with the “getent passwd” command. Any ideas why my users are present when I use pdbedit but the database is so empty ?     I am learning how to use Flex with Adobe Flash Builder 4 standalone. I am working my through the Adobe Flash Build 4 Bible by David Gassner. This has led me to create my own micro problems to try and solve. I am trying to connect to a dynamix XML feed created by the following aspx page: generate_xml.aspx When I create the data connection through the Data/Service panel, I can pick between XML and HTTP. I figured because the generate_xml.aspx has to generate the XML file first, I should use the HTTP service as opposed to the XML. The HTTP service offers GET, which seems to be the kinda thing I want. However, I am really struggling to do this. I keep getting: "The response is not a valid XML or a JSON string" The actual STATIC generated XML file that is created by this page works perfectly when I save it and manually connect with the XML service. Therefore I know my XML code is properly formatted and contains no other HTML of JavaScript. I figure my problem occurs because the page itself is .aspx, but I cannot work out how to successfully ask Flex to request the output of this page, rather than the page itself.

    hi, I am using jquery ajax method on my aspx page,which will invoke the webmethod in the code behind.Currently the webmethod takes a couple of parameters like firstname,lastname,address etc which I am passing from jquery ajax method using data:JSON.stringify({fname:firstname,lname:lastname,city:city}) now my requirement has been changed such that,the number and type of parameters that are going to be passed is not fixed for ex.parameter combination can be something like fname,city or fname,city or city,lname or fname,lname,city or something else.So the webmethod should be such that it should accept any number parameters.I thought of using arrays to do so, as described here. But I do not understand how can I identify which and how many parameters have been passed to the webmethod to insert/update the data to the DB.Please could someone help me with this? thanks
