  • Super fast getimagesize in php

    Hi all, im trying to get image size(DIMENSIONS) of hundreds of remote images and getimagesize is way too slow. ive done some reading and found out the quickest way would be to use get_file_contents to read a certain aount of bytes from the images and examining the size within the binary data. Anyone attempted this before? How would i examine different formats. Seen any library for this? please let me know

  • num_rows is 0 when it should be >0 for php mysqli code

    My num_rows is coming back as 0, and I've tried calling it several ways, but I'm stuck. Here is my code: $conn = new mysqli($dbserver, "dbuser", "dbpass", $dbname); // get the data $sql = 'SELECT AT.activityName, AT.createdOn FROM userActivity UA, users U, activityType AT WHERE U.userId = UA.userId and AT.activityType = UA.activityType and U.username = ? order by AT.createdOn'; $stmt = $conn->stmt_init(); $stmt->prepare($sql); $stmt->bind_param('s', $requestedUsername); $stmt->bind_result($activityName, $createdOn); $stmt->execute(); // display the data $numrows = $stmt->num_rows; $result=array("user activity report for: " . $requestedUsername .     I have a multidimensional array like this array[value][1][1] Now i would like to implement if loop like this if ($value = array[value][1][1]) { echo "It works"; } Now it works if i assign the values like [1][1],[2][1]. Is it possible to compare the whole array. I mean if the array looks like array[value][1][1],array[value][2][1],..........,array[value][n][1] It works should be echoed. I tried like this. if ($value = array[value][][]) { echo "It works"; } But its not working. Can anyone give me the correct syntax?

And i want to extract "DESIRED IMAGE LINK" inside the "" tag, currently i'm using this: $pattern = '<div class="cont">.*?src=["\']?([^"\']?.*?(png|jpg|jpeg|gif))["\']?/i'; if (preg_match($pattern, $content, $image)) ..... But it doesn't work, the error is: warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier '.' How can i fix it? Thanks

I can dynamically instantiate a class like this: class myclass {} $my_class_name = 'myclass'; $obj = new $myclass(); If the constructor is like follows: class myclass { public function __construct( $argument1, $argument2 ) {} } and i have the values of the arguments in an array, how can i dynamically instantiate the class and pass it dynamic arguments?     Hey guys. I'm running a script that looks for a specific term in a pdf file. Well, actually I'm reading the pdf file as a txt file and look for the term there. The script processes over 20k files. But, unexpectedly, the script breaks after it hits a file that is over 50mb long. It stops. What could the reason be?     I have a time that is being sent to me in UTC time, but I want to adjust it so its the outer edges of the days on East Coast time (EST/EDT). That is, I want the user to be able to enter in EDT/EST centric dates, and have it query with the UTC correct dates. $start_date and $end_date are MM/DD/YYYY formatted dates passed via a GET variable. $start_date = date('Y-m-d 00:00:00', $start_date); $end_date = date('Y-m-d 23:59:59', $end_date); These dates are for use in a database query, whose times are stored in UTC time. So, I want the start date to be the day before at 8pm or 7pm, depending on daylight savings, and then to end at 7:59:59 or 6:59:59, again depending on daylight savings. How would I do that?
