  • Trying to re-create UI object from the native iPhone Calendar Notes

    Probably a lame question for a start but i'm trying to re-create the ui object that's used in Apple's native Calendar to create notes. It's the basic text-field but with multiple lines. Sort of a text-area. Now i know that anything from the calendar in terms of ui objects isn't available but i have seen this in quite few apps so i'm guessing it's some sort of standard component. I must be dumb but i just cannot find it. Help please... Thx :)

    Hello, I am trying to set up a list of file names for a parameter to SHFileOperation. I want to be able to concatenate a file name onto the char array, but i dont want to get rid of the terminating character. for example, I want this: C:\...\0E:\...\0F:\...\0\0 when i use strcat(), it overwrites the null, so it looks like C:\...E:\...F:\...0\ Is there any easy way to do this? or am i going to have to code a new strcat for myself?

    I have a data set that I import into a SQL table every night. One field is 'Address_3' and contains the City, State, Zip and Country fields. However, this data isn't standardized.     Can I assign each value in an array to separate variables in one line in C#? Here's an example in Ruby code of what I want: irb(main):001:0> str1, str2 = ["hey", "now"] => ["hey", "now"] irb(main):002:0> str1 => "hey" irb(main):003:0> str2 => "now" I'm not sure if what I'm wanting is possible in C#. Edit: for those suggesting I just assign the strings "hey" and "now" to variables, that's not what I want. Imagine the following: irb(main):004:0> val1, val2 = get_two_values() => ["hey", "now"] irb(main):005:0> val1 => "hey" irb(main):006:0> val2 => "now" Now the fact that the method get_two_values returned strings "hey" and "now" is arbitrary.   • Accessing two sides of a user-user relationship in rails

    Basically, I have a users model in my rails app, and a fanship model, to facilitate the ability for users to become 'fans' of each other. In my user model, I have: has_many :fanships has_many :fanofs, :through => :fanships In my fanship model, I have: belongs_to :user belongs_to :fanof, :class_name => "User", :foreign_key => "fanof_id" My fanship table basically consists of :id, :user_id and :fanof_id. This all works fine, and I can see what users a specific user is a fan of like: <% @user.fanofs.each do |fan| %> #things <% end %> My question is, how can I get a list of the users that are a fan of this specific user? I'd like it if I could just have something like @user.fans, but if that isn't possible what is the most efficient way of going about this? Thanks!

    what is best way to model many-to-many relationship? lets say we have a two classes , Team and Player any given Player can be in multiple Team s any Team can have as many Player s as they like I like to call methods like playerX.getTeamList() to get the list of all the Team s he/she is in teamY.getPlayerList() to get the list of all the Player s in the team (or have some other way to do this effectively) I can think of two ways of doing this , but they just don't feels like good oop pattens. can you think of any good ways , perhaps a design patten ?

I want to find all values in data that contain 'underscore r underscore'. I try to achieve this: I have column(nvarchar) with this: for ex.row1. 1;3;4;5,row2. 3;4;6 row3. 7;8;16 etc. I have list(of string) with 1,6. My goal is to get row1 and row2 in result set. I try with linq to entity and with linq to sql but i can't get this right. I stuck with this and any help would be appreciated... Tnx

It it working in FF, Chrome/Safari but not in IE 7/8. Is there something I'm missing here? Big Picture: We're using a swf to render custom type and there is a link in the rendered (flash) content. We're hoping to catch the link action in the jQuery listener so we don't have to extend our swf have an optional param to return false on link click. We thought we got around it, until IE testing commenced... Let me know if any more info is needed. Thanks!

If so how does the example work?

However, for the sake of making the life easier I need to attach a method to the ConfigurationManager class in asp.net. It's a static object so this won't work: public static List<string> GetSupportedDomains(this ConfigurationManager manager) { //the manager needs to be static. } So the question is - is it possible to write an extension method for a static class in .net?

  • Save objects to a database?

    So far in my .Net coding adventures I've only had a need to save information to files. So I've used XmlSerializer and DataContractSerializer to serialize attributed classes to XML files. My next project, however, requires that I save and retrieve information from a SQL server database. I'm wondering what my options are for doing this. The current version of the app, which was not created by me, uses a lot of hard coded SQL commands. But now I'm trying to avoid doing anything where I have to read or write individual fields to or from the database or objects. I especially want to avoid a lot of hard coded SQL in my code. I like how the serializer classes just figure out how to read and write XML files based on the attributes and or public properties of the class. Is there something similar for a database rather then XML?

  • Promoting letters in a string to the next letter in java

    I'm having issues figuring out how to get my code to increment the string that is given by user input so that when a user chooses to replace a letter like z it would go to a, b to c ect. The catch is I have to do this without using boolean. I am supposed to get this by using arithmetics to get the promotion from z to a from the users input. Plus must be only lower case letters from a-z. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
