  • Objects not loading on second request in Restkit

    - by Holger Edward Wardlow Sindbæk
    I'm sending off 2 requests simultaneously with Restkit and I receive a response back from both of them, but only one of the requests receives any objects. If I send them off one by one, then my objectloader receives all objects. First request: self.firstObjectManager = [RKObjectManager sharedManager]; [self.firstObjectManager loadObjectsAtResourcePath:[NSString stringWithFormat: @"/%@.json", subUrl] usingBlock:^(RKObjectLoader *loader){ [loader.mappingProvider setObjectMapping:designArrayMapping forKeyPath:@""]; loader.userData = @"design"; loader.delegate = self; [loader sendAsynchronously]; }]; Second request: self.secondObjectManager = [RKObjectManager sharedManager]; [self.secondObjectManager loadObjectsAtResourcePath:[NSString stringWithFormat: @"/%@.json", subUrl] usingBlock:^(RKObjectLoader *loader){ [loader.mappingProvider setObjectMapping:designerMapping forKeyPath:@""]; loader.userData = @"designer"; loader.delegate = self; [loader sendAsynchronously]; }]; My objecloader: -(void)objectLoader:(RKObjectLoader *)objectLoader didLoadObjects:(NSArray *)objects { //NSLog(@"This happened: %@", objectLoader.userData); if (objectLoader.userData == @"design") { NSLog(@"Design happened: %i", objects.count); }else if(objectLoader.userData == @"designer"){ NSLog(@"designer: %@", [objects objectAtIndex:0]); } } My response: 2012-11-18 14:36:19.607 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] Started loading of request: designer 2012-11-18 14:36:22.575 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] I restkit.network:RKRequest.m:680:-[RKRequest updateInternalCacheDate] Updating cache date for request <RKObjectLoader: 0x95c3160> to 2012-11-18 19:36:22 +0000 2012-11-18 14:36:22.576 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] response code: 200 2012-11-18 14:36:22.584 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] Design happened: 0 2012-11-18 14:36:22.603 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] I restkit.network:RKRequest.m:680:-[RKRequest updateInternalCacheDate] Updating cache date for request <RKObjectLoader: 0xa589b50> to 2012-11-18 19:36:22 +0000 2012-11-18 14:36:22.605 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] response code: 200 2012-11-18 14:36:22.606 RestKitTest5[14220:c07] designer: <DesignerData: 0xa269fc0> Update: Setting my base url RKURL *baseURL = [RKURL URLWithBaseURLString:@"http://iphone.meer.li"]; [RKObjectManager setSharedManager:[RKObjectManager managerWithBaseURL:baseURL]]; Solution Problem was that I used the shared manager for both object managers, so I ended up doing: RKURL *baseURL = [RKURL URLWithBaseURLString:@"http://iphone.meer.li"]; RKObjectManager *myObjectManager = [[RKObjectManager alloc] initWithBaseURL:baseURL]; self.firstObjectManager = myObjectManager; and: RKURL *baseURL = [RKURL URLWithBaseURLString:@"http://iphone.meer.li"]; RKObjectManager *myObjectManager = [[RKObjectManager alloc] initWithBaseURL:baseURL]; self.secondObjectManager = myObjectManager;

  • How do I blur (ios7 style) a section of an image in a UITableViewCell?

    - by George McKibbin
    I've got a UIImageView that takes up the whole cell and shows an image. I'd like to blur the bottom third of the view in the iOS7 style (we're targeting iOS7). There will be a label over the blurred part. The issue seems to be that I can't "screenshot" the UIImageView right as I am setting up the cell in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: as it hasn't loaded yet. Although i've even tried setting up a timer for a 0.1 second delay and that also doesn't work. I've tried the stuff on http://damir.me/posts/ios7-blurring-techniques I've tried https://github.com/justinmfischer/7blur I'd like to use the new screenshotting API drawViewHierarchyInRect:afterScreenUpdates: I'd also like to use apple's sample code UIImage+ImageEffects The only thing that has worked so far has been to just put a UIToolbar in but the performance is really slow. I don't need dynamic updates. I've managed to get the following effect a few times but it has just tinted the view and hasn't actually blurred anything so I'm a bit confused.

  • How to create a CGBitmapContext which works for Retina display and not wasting space for regular display?

    - by ????
    Is it true that if it is in UIKit, including drawRect, the HD aspect of Retina display is automatically handled? So does that mean in drawRect, the current graphics context for a 1024 x 768 view is actually a 2048 x 1536 pixel Bitmap context? (is there a way to print this size out to verify it). We actually enjoy the luxury of 1 point = 4 pixels automatically handled for us. However, if we use CGBitmapContextCreate, then those will really be pixels, not points? (at least if we provide a data buffer for that bitmap, the size is not for the higher resolution, but for the standard resolution, and even if we pass NULL as the buffer so that CGBitmapContextCreate handles the buffer for us, the size probably is the same as if we pass in a data buffer, and it is just standard resolution, not Retina's resolution). We can always create 2048 x 1536 for iPad 1 and iPad 2 as well as the New iPad, but it will waste memory and processor and GPU power, as it is only needed for the New iPad. So do we have to use a if () { } else { } to create such a bitmap context and how do we actually do so? And all our code CGContextMoveToPoint has to be adjusted for Retina display to use x * 2 and y * 2 vs non-retina display of just using x, y as well? That can be quite messy for the code. (or maybe we can define a local variable scaleFactor and set it to 1 for standard resolution and 2 if it is retina, so our x and y will always be x * scaleFactor, y * scaleFactor instead of just x and y.) It seems that UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions can create one for Retina automatically if the scale of 0.0 is passed in, but I don't think it can be used if I need to create the context and keep it (and using ivar or property of UIViewController to hold it). If I don't release it using UIGraphicsEndImageContext, then it stays in the graphics context stack, so it seems like I have to use CGBitmapContextCreate instead. (or do we just let it stay at the bottom of the stack and not worry about it?)

  • Decoration View *above* cells in UICollectionView

    - by Dhiraj Gupta
    I've got a decoration view showing the way I want, in my UICollectionView. The position and size is right. The decoration view stays at the frame I'm setting for it in my layout. But, I want the decoration view to be above the cells, not below them. I tried setting the zIndex property on the UICollectionViewLayoutAttributes for the decoration view, but this has no effect - I tried logging out the zindex of the cells, and they're all returning 0, and my decoration view's zIndex is set to 20. I'm guessing having decoration views above the cells is not supported, at least in UICollectionViewFlowLayout? Someone please confirm this, thanks! In the meantime, I'm going back to having a custom UIView subclass as a subview in the parent controller of the collection view and laying out the frame of it in the - (void) viewWillLayoutSubviews() method.

  • How to disable other touch gestures after adding another tap gesture to the view?

    - by Hudson Duan
    I have a view with some tables and buttons on it, and then I want to add a tap gesture to the entire view, but I only want that gesture recognizer to recognize taps. Ideally, I want to do something when the added gesture recognizer is tapped, then remove that gesture recognizer after so the other buttons and tables can be accessed. Basically a tap to dismiss functionality that replicates something like the facebook notifications window, tap outside to dismiss, but not interfere with the buttons outside of the notifications view. Can anybody help? My current code is: NotificationsWindow *customView = [[[NSBundle mainBundle]loadNibNamed:@"NotificationsWindow" owner:self options:nil]objectAtIndex:0]; customView.frame= CGRectMake(12, 12, customView.frame.size.width, customView.frame.size.height); UITapGestureRecognizer *recognizerForSubView = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleTapBehindAgain:)]; [recognizerForSubView setNumberOfTapsRequired:1]; recognizerForSubView.cancelsTouchesInView = NO; //So the user can still interact with controls in the modal view [customView addGestureRecognizer:recognizerForSubView]; [self.view addSubview:customView]; UITapGestureRecognizer *recognizerForSuperView = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleTapBehind:)]; [recognizerForSuperView setNumberOfTapsRequired:1]; recognizerForSuperView.cancelsTouchesInView = NO; //So the user can still interact with controls in the modal view [customView.superview addGestureRecognizer:recognizerForSuperView]; (void)handleTapBehind:(UITapGestureRecognizer *)sender { NSLog(@"tapped"); [[self.view.subviews lastObject] removeFromSuperview]; [self.view removeGestureRecognizer:sender]; } I want to make it so that the recognizer for the super view dismisses the subview, but not to interfere with the other taps on the super view.

  • MIN() and MAX() in Swift and converting Int to CGFloat

    - by gotnull
    I'm getting some errors with the following methods: 1) How do I return screenHeight / cellCount as a CGFLoat for the first method? 2) How do I use the equivalent of ObjC's MIN() and MAX() in the second method? func tableView(tableView: UITableView!, heightForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath!) -> CGFloat { var cellCount = Int(self.tableView.numberOfRowsInSection(indexPath.section)) return screenHeight / cellCount as CGFloat } // #pragma mark - UIScrollViewDelegate func scrollViewDidScroll(scrollView: UIScrollView) { let height = CGFloat(scrollView.bounds.size.height) let position = CGFloat(MAX(scrollView.contentOffset.y, 0.0)) let percent = CGFloat(MIN(position / height, 1.0)) blurredImageView.alpha = percent }

  • How to resize UILabel text after zooming UIScrollview zoomable

    - by netadictos
    I have an UIScrollview that is zoomable, the subview is one UIView (viewTexto) that contains an UILabel inside (messageLabel). This is the code - (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollViewtmp{ return viewTexto; } -(void)scrollViewDidEndZooming:(UIScrollView *)scrollViewtmp withView:(UIView *)view atScale:(float)scale{ messageLabel.contentScaleFactor=scale; [scrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(scrollView.frame.size.width, messageLabel.frame.origin.y + messageLabel.frame.size.heightt)]; } With this code I can zoom, and the text is not blurry, there is no horizontal scroll but the size of the UILabel continues to be too large, so it is cut. I need that the width of the UILabel adopts to the scrollView width again as at the beginning. I have read any question about UIScrollViews in SO and having found exactly what I need.

  • Understanding addSubview: memoryLeak

    - by Leandros
    I don't really understand, why this code leaks. ParentViewController *parentController = [[ParentViewController alloc] init]; ChildViewController *childController = [[ChildViewController alloc] init]; [parentController containerAddChildViewController:childController]; [[self window] setRootViewController:parentController]; - (void)containerAddChildViewController:(UIViewController *)childViewController { [self addChildViewController:childViewController]; [self.view addSubview:childViewController.view]; // Instruments is telling me, the leak occurs here! [childViewController didMoveToParentViewController:self]; } According to Instruments, this line: [self.view addSubview:childViewController.view]; is leaking. The whole code is called once in application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:, but it is shown that this code is responsible for 30 leaks (approx. 1.12 kB).

  • How to specify a font from javascript?

    - by Steven Lu
    I am trying to customize a view-src bookmarklet for iPad. This one is looking pretty good so far. But I want to make it just a little more readable: The Courier (New) font is a bit ugly even (especially?) on the retina display and I'd prefer any one of DejaVu Sans Mono, Monaco, Lucida Console, Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I tried to modify the bookmarklet script by adding: pre.style.fontFamily = '"DejaVu Sans Mono", "Lucida Console", Monaco;'; It's not doing the trick. Perhaps prettyprint cancels out my fontFamily setting when it loads. Maybe I can set it at the end of the script somehow...

  • ios6 web app delete privacy setting

    - by Higgs Boson
    I'm developing a web app and testing on my iPhone 5 running iOS6. The app was running as a home screen app and during use requested access to the camera roll on the phone which I allowed, this has added a toggle in settings privacy photos on the phone for my web app. I've since abandoned this web app and deleted the home screen icon but the toggle still shows in the privacy settings, I'd like to remove this toggle but I can't seem to find a way to do so. Can anyone help?

  • Adding a custom subview (created in a xib) to a view controller's view - What am I doing wrong

    - by Fran
    I've created a view in a xib (with an activity indicator, a progress view and a label). Then I've created .h/.m files: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface MyCustomView : UIView { IBOutlet UIActivityIndicatorView *actIndicator; IBOutlet UIProgressView *progressBar; IBOutlet UILabel *statusMsg; } @end #import "MyCustomView.h" @implementation MyCustomView - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end In IB, I set the file's owner and view identity to MyCustomView and connect the IBOutlet to the File's owner In MyViewController.m, I've: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; UIView *subView = [[MyCustomView alloc] initWithFrame:myTableView.frame]; [subView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:0.0 green:0.0 blue:0.0 alpha:0.5]]; [myTableView addSubview:subView]; [subView release]; } When I run the app, the view is added, but I can't see the label, the progress bar and the activity indicator. What am I doing wrong?

  • How to segue modal without losing tab bar controller

    - by Arian
    Okay, so I want to be able to have a TabBar Controller with two Tabs (like the template in Xcode), but inside the Second tab, I want to have a button that takes the view to a Third View Controller. I want the Third View Controller to have a back button to the Second Tab, I don't want the Third View to retain the TabBar, but when I go back to the Second Tab I want the TabBar to return. So this is what I actually did, and it doesn't work. I put a button in 2nd view and 3rd view, and I control clicked and dragged to the respective views, and clicked modal. Everything works, except when I go back to the 2nd view I lose the tab bar. I don't understand why I have this, when I resize the UIWebBrowser in the storyboard I don't have this problem but I want to do it programmatically Thanks,

  • Hidden UIView Orientation Change / Layout problems

    - by gargantaun
    The Problem: I have two View Controllers loaded into a root View Controller. Both sub view layouts respond to orientation changes. I switch between the two views using [UIView transformationFromView:...]. Both sub views work fine on their own, but if... Views are swapped Orientation Changes Views are swapped again the View that was previously hidden has serious layout problems. The more I repeat these steps the worse the problem gets. Implementation Details I have three viewsControllers. MyAppViewController A_ViewController B_ViewController A & B ViewControllers have a background image each, and a UIWebView and an AQGridView respectively. To give you an example of how i'm setting it all up, here's the loadView method for A_ViewController... - (void)loadView { [super loadView]; // background image // Should fill the screen and resize on orientation changes UIImageView *bg = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds]; bg.contentMode = UIViewContentModeCenter; bg.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; bg.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"fuzzyhalo.png"]; [self.view addSubview:bg]; // frame for webView // Should have a margin of 34 on all sides and resize on orientation changes CGRect webFrame = self.view.bounds; webFrame.origin.x = 34; webFrame.origin.y = 34; webFrame.size.width = webFrame.size.width - 68; webFrame.size.height = webFrame.size.height - 68; projectView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:webFrame]; projectView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; [self.view addSubview:projectView]; } For the sake of brevity, the AQGridView in B_ViewController is set up pretty much the same way. Now both these views work fine on their own. However, I use both of them in the AppViewController like this... - (void)loadView { [super loadView]; self.view.autoresizesSubviews = YES; [self setWantsFullScreenLayout:YES]; webView = [[WebProjectViewController alloc] init]; [self.view addSubview:webView.view]; mainMenu = [[GridViewController alloc] init]; [self.view addSubview:mainMenu.view]; activeView = mainMenu; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(switchViews:) name:SWAPVIEWS object:nil]; } and I switch betweem the two views using my own switchView method like this - (void) switchViews:(NSNotification*)aNotification; { NSString *type = [aNotification object]; if ([type isEqualToString:MAINMENU]){ [UIView transitionFromView:activeView.view toView:mainMenu.view duration:0.75 options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionFlipFromRight completion:nil]; activeView = mainMenu; } if ([type isEqualToString:WEBVIEW]) { [UIView transitionFromView:activeView.view toView:webView.view duration:0.75 options:UIViewAnimationOptionTransitionFlipFromLeft completion:nil]; activeView = webView; } // These don't seem to do anything //[mainMenu.view setNeedsLayout]; //[webView.view setNeedsLayout]; } I'm fumbling my way through this, and I suspect a lot of what i've done is implemented incorrectly so please feel free to point out anything that should be done differently, I need the input. But my primary concern is to understand what's causing the layout problems. Here's two images which illustrate the nature of the layout issues... UPDATE: I just noticed that when the orientation is landscape, the transition flips vertically, when I would expect it to be horizontal. I don't know wether that's a clue as to what might be going wrong. Switch to the other view... change orientation.... switch back....

  • How to prevent a modal UIImagePickerController from rotating?

    - by coneybeare
    I have an app that fully support rotation. I am modally adding a UIImagePickerController for which there is no support for UIInterfaceOrientationLandscape and I cannot get the controller to stay in portrait. In other words, I need to disable rotation for the UIImagePickerController so it stays in portrait, without removing rotation for the rest of my app. this seems basic, but I can't seem to locate it. How can I prevent this rotation? UPDATE As suggested, I tried subclassing with the following code: @interface UAImagePickerController : UIImagePickerController { } @end @implementation UAImagePickerController - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation { return UIDeviceOrientationIsPortrait(toInterfaceOrientation); } @end The line is not being hit at all with a breakpoint… i think there must be something funky about the UIImagePickerView

  • Completion block not being called. How to check validity?

    - by HCHogan
    I have this method which takes a block, but that block isn't always called. See the method: - (void)updateWithCompletion:(void (^)(void))completion { [MYObject myMethodWithCompletion:^(NSArray *array, NSError *error) { if (error) { NSLog(@"%s, ERROR not nil", __FUNCTION__); completion(); return; } NSLog(@"%s, calling completion %d", __FUNCTION__, &completion); completion(); NSLog(@"%s, finished completion", __FUNCTION__); }]; } I have some more NSLogs inside completion. Sometimes this program counter just blows right past the call to completion() in the code above. I don't see why this would be as the calling code always passes a literal block of code as input. If you're curious of the output of the line containing the addressof operator, it's always something different, but never 0 or nil. What would cause completion not to be executed?

  • UIView Login screen to tabbar logic

    - by Benjamin De Bos
    Folks, i'm having trouble with some navigation logic. Currently i have a simple two tabbed tabbar application. But i want to show a loginscreen in front. So that would be an UIView. Currently the code is as follows: - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { self.window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; UIViewController *viewController1 = [[roosterViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"roosterViewController" bundle:nil]; UIViewController *viewController2 = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SecondViewController" bundle:nil]; self.tabBarController = [[UITabBarController alloc] init]; self.tabBarController.viewControllers = @[viewController1, viewController2]; self.window.rootViewController = self.tabBarController; [self.window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; } SO this pushes a simple tabcontroller. Well, now i want to have a login screen. So that would be a simple UIView which pushes the tabbar controller. But i can't seem to see the logic on how to do this. I've been trying to present a modal view controller, but the thing is: the tabbar will be loaded on the background. Since i need the username/password information to work on the tabbarview, this won't work. My Logic would be: delegate load loginViewController load tabbar controller But, then i need to be able to "logout". So i need to destroy the tabbar controller and present the login screen. Any thoughts on this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the code that was requested, thank you very very much for your help: (It is an extract from the method where I think the error happens) The weird thing is that it only happens with certain contacts, and deleting the contact, then creating a new one solves the problem... - (BOOL)peoplePickerNavigationController:(ABPeoplePickerNavigationController *)peoplePicker shouldContinueAfterSelectingPerson:(ABRecordRef)person property:(ABPropertyID)property identifier:(ABMultiValueIdentifier)identifier NSString* firstName = (NSString *)ABRecordCopyValue(person, kABPersonFirstNameProperty); NSString* lastName = (NSString *)ABRecordCopyValue(person, kABPersonLastNameProperty); NSNumber* record = [NSNumber numberWithInt:ABRecordGetRecordID(person)]; if(lastName!=nil){ name=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@",firstName,lastName]; } else { name=firstName; } ABMultiValueRef phone = ABRecordCopyValue(person, property); NSString *value =(NSString *)ABMultiValueCopyValueAtIndex(phone, identifier); NSString *label =(NSString *)ABMultiValueCopyLabelAtIndex(phone, identifier); NSMutableArray *tempArray=[[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray:[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"MainArray"]]; NSDictionary *stringDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:name, kLabelKey, value, kNumberKey,label, kNumberLabelKey,record, kReferenceKey, nil]; [tempArray addObject:stringDictionary]; NSArray *mainArray = [NSArray arrayWithArray:tempArray]; [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:mainArray forKey:@"MainArray"];
