  • serving cached files based upon cookie?

    So I realized something today. In my application, you really can't get anywhere (except the front page) unless you're logged in. And you can't be logged in without a cookie. So my front page could be cached, except the problem is if you are logged in (have a cookie set) then it should just redirect into the application. Is there a way for nginx to look for a cookie and if it finds it then deliver a cached file? Just an idea...

  • Silverlight ~ MVVM ~ Dynamic setting of Style property based on model value

    I have a class called Question that represents a question and it's answer. I have an application that renders an ObservableCollection of Question objects. Each Question is rendered as a StackPanel that contains a TextBlock for the question verbiage, and a TextBox for the user to enter in an answer. The questions are rendered using an ItemsControl, and I have initially set the Style of the Questions's StackPanel using a StaticResource key called 'IncorrectQuestion' (defined in UserControl.Resources section of the page). In the UserControl.Resources section, I've also defined a key calld 'CorrectQuestion' which I need to somehow apply to the Question's StackPanel when the user correctly answers the question. My problem is I'm not sure how to dynamically change the Style of the StackPanel, specifically within the constraints of a ViewModel class (i.e. I don't want to put any style selection code in the View's code-behind). My Question class has an IsCorrect property which is accurately being set when the correction is answered. I'd like to somehow reflect the IsCorrect value in the form of a Style selection. How do I do that?

  • Event-based interaction between two custom classes

    Hello everybody. I have such problem: I have 2 custom components, which have their own nesting hierarchy ... One is container for another. I have to "familiarize them" with each other. The way I'm trying to achieve that is using global events (one side is firing and the other one is catching): Application.application.addEventListener("Hello", function (data:Event):void{ // .. some actions }); //and Application.application.dispatchEvent(new Event(Hello)); Everything is pretty good, but there's one thingy .. when I'm trying to catch the event, I can't access the class, who is catching it. E.g.: Container fires the event. Child caughts it. Then should be created the connection between container and it's child. BUT, the only thing I could acheive is passing a reference to the Container in the DynamicEvent. Is there any chance that I could access the child at the event-handler function. Or maybe there's more elegant way to solve this problem ... Any help would be greately appreciated :)

Some of the questions are identical such as fields related to personal information. I'm thinking of using ASP.NET MVC to build this web application. When generating the multi page application would it be best to Create partial views (sections of applications) and combine them when generating the form. OR Build some type of dynamic form generator

I want to filter the items in the ListBox to show only items containing a string I'm searching for. I have done this by keeping a list of the original items and selecting matching items from that list each time the search string changes and updating the ListBox.Items Is there a more elegant/efficient way to do this?

How can I let google know what is there so people can find the site through a search engine. What programming techniques could I use to give more content to the google bot. But there's a specific chapter about class loader in the book <java reflection in action> and says: Class loader calls findLoadedClass to check if the class has been loaded already.If a class loader does not find a loaded class, calls loadClass on the parent class loader. which is correct ?

I need to control this with a cookie, so when the user hides #wrapper it remains hidden on all pages or when they re-visit the page. I know there is a jQuery Cookie plugin, but I'd like to do this with plain Javascript rather then including another plugin. Can anyone tell me how i can build in it in plain javascript and merge with the JQuery to create a cookie, then check the cookie each time the page loads to see if #wrapper should be hidden or displayed?

    I was looking at AppFog's Pricing and they appear to be giving 2GB of ram away for free, to nonpaying customers. This seems unprecedented for PAAS provodes--providers like Heroku and App Engine remove the app from memory if it has been inactive for certain amount of time. Does cloudfoundry work similarly? Am I wrong in assuming that in a few years appfog servers will be filled with inactive non paying applications?

    I have a layout roughly as follows: <div id="foo"> <!-- a bunch of content --> </div> <div id="thumbnails"> <div class="thumb-content1"></div> <div class="thumb-content2"></div> <div class="thumb-content3"></div> </div> <div id="content-1"> <!-- some text and pictures, including large-pic1 --> </div> <div id="content-2"> <!-- some text and pictures, including large-pic2 --> </div> <div id="content-3"> <!-- some text and pictures, including large-pic3 --> </div> etc .... On page load I want to show 'foo' and 'thumbnails' and hide the three content divs. As the user clicks each thumbnail, I want to hide foo, and replace it with the matching 'content-x'. I can get my head round jQuery show, hide and replace (although, bonus points if you want to include that in your example!). But how would I extract and construct the appropriate content id, from the thumbnail class, then pass it to the show hide code?

    What I am trying to do is simple. I have a few .wav files. I want to remove noise and filter out specific frequencies. I don't have matlab and I intend to write my own code for all the filters. Right now, I have a way to read the .wav file and dump out the structure into a text file. My questions are the following: Can I directly apply the digital filters on this sampled data?{ ie, can I directly do a convolution between my input samples and h(n) for the filter function that i choose?). How do I choose the number of coefficients for the Window function? I have octave, so if someone can point me to anything that gives me some idea on how to process the .wav file using octave, that would be great too. I want to be able to filter out the frequency and then listen to the sound again. Is this possible with octave? I'm just a beginner with these kinds of things, so please bear with me if my questions are too naive. Any help will be great.

How can I achieve the same in Sql Server 2000 without any variable declaration or loop or cursor? If I use COALESCE as an alternative, then I need to use a variable which will defeat the purpose Please help

    I have a simple form: a combobox and a textbox. My combobox has 2 values: A and B. When value A is selected I want textbox to use a validation rule. When value B is selected there should be no validation rules applied to the textbox. I've read an article that has a solution and I'm trying to use it, but had no luck so far, and I think there might be a more elegant solution. Has anyone done anything like this before?     I have a simple dataframe with two columns: df <- data.frame(x = c(1,1,2,2,3), y = c(rep(1:2,2),1), target = c('a','a','a','b','a')) I would like to compare the strings in the target column (find out whether they are equal or not, i.e., TRUE or FALSE) within every level of x (same number for x). First I would like to compare lines 1 and 2, then 3 and 4 ... My problem is that I am missing some comparisons, for example, line 5 has only one case instead of two - so it should turn out to be FALSE. Variable y indicates the first and second case within x. I played around with ddply doing something like: ddply(df, .(x), summarise, ifelse(as.character(df[df$y == '1',]$target), as.character(df[df$y == '2',]$target),0,1)) which is ugly ... and does not work ... Any insights how I could achieve this comparison? Thanks

    How should I handle multiple user-connection defined datasource connection in my .NET application? To illustrate this better; the user provides three (3) pieces of information, username, password and data source name. This data source name is then looked-up in a central database telling that application which main database this user should connect to. My question is, in the DataAccess layer, should we only pass down enough information to uniquely identify that user, and query the central database each time in the DAL; or, should we provide another way to pass the datasource connection down to the DAL?

  • Community based translating system

    Since we don't funds to hire translators for getting multiple languages translated we want the community to do the translation for us. Its a social network. I can't find any good open souce framework to auto do this. Thinking something like: User selects a language, system displays random sentences and user will translate it. Then other users can vote on how good it is. If it's 100 votes + with 95% yes then it becomes official. Site is in PHP. Any ideas?
