    I Want to have only unique values in a SharePoin List. To achieve this I can use 'ItemAdding' event handler as mentioned in the below link. http://weblogs.asp.net/vikram/archive/2008/12/24/sharepoint-using-event-handler-to-make-a-column-unique.aspx Now I have a Doubt: Suppose that two user tries to add list Item in the list with the same column value(which requires unique value) at the same Time. will ItemAdding event would be fired at the same time for both call? If so then there is a possibility that two items having same value in the column. Please confirm.

In the email alert sent contains the heading giveb below : Modify my alert settings| View The ‘Colour of Energy’ – now on ...| View Posts View The ‘Colour of Energy’ – now on ... is the link for the post for which user has get the email alert. It is redirecting to the URL ://url/blogs/Lists /Posts/Dispform.aspx?ID=x, which is giving Page cannot be found error. It should redierct to ://url/blogs/Lists /Posts/Post.aspx?ID=x. I want to change the hyperlink URL to the above one. Please suggest as how to proceed with that.

  • Get all related products based on their full-text search relationship

    I have a Product table with the fields Id, Title, Description, Keywords (just comma separated list of keywords). Table is full-text indexed. When I view one product, I do a query and search the full-text catalog for any related products based on the Keywords field. select * from Products where Contains(Products.*, @keywordsFromOneProduct) Works like a charm. Now I would like to list all products and all their related products in a big list and I want to avoid calling this method for each item. Any ideas how could I do it? I was thinking about a job that would go through products one by one and build a one-many mapping table (fields ProductId, RelatedProductId), but I wonder is there a better way?

    I work on something in Seattle Repy which is a restricted subset of Python. Anyway, I wanted to implement my own Queue that derives from a list: class Queue(list): job_count = 0 def __init__(self): list.__init__(self) def appendleft(item): item.creation_time = getruntime() item.current_count = self.job_count self.insert(0, item) def pop(): item = self.pop() item.pop_time = getruntime() return item Now I call this in my main server, where I use my own Job class to pass Jobs to the Queue: mycontext['queue'] = Queue() # ... job = Job(str(ip), message) mycontext['queue'].appendleft(job) The last line raises the following exception: Exception (with type 'exceptions.TypeError'): appendleft() takes exactly 1 argument (2 given) I'm relatively new to Python, so could anyone explain to me why it would think that I gave appendleft() two arguments when there obviously was only one?

I thought it would be pretty easy to do, but my brain doesn't appear to be working today.     I am creating some tag functionality for a forum using linq2sql, and I have two tables [Tag] TagId TagName [ForumTagRelation] TagId ForumId I would like to retrieve, like SO, the most popular tags. I have tried to do this by: List<Tag> popularTags = db.Tags.Select(x => x.ForumTagRelations.GroupBy(y => y.TagId).OrderByDescending(z => z.Count())).Take(count).ToList(); But this just returns the following error: Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<System.Linq.IOrderedEnumerable<System.Linq.IGrouping<System.Guid?,SampleWebsite.ForumTagRelation>>>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<SampleWebsite.Tag>'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) The question is how I easily can return a list of tags which has the most counts in the ForumTagRelation table?

  • How do I transfer this logic into a LINQ statement?

    I can't get this bit of logic converted into a Linq statement and it is driving me nuts. I have a list of items that have a category and a createdondate field. I want to group by the category and only return items that have the max date for their category. So for example, the list contains items with categories 1 and 2. The first day (1/1) I post two items to both categories 1 and 2. The second day (1/2) I post three items to category 1. The list should return the second day postings to category 1 and the first day postings to category 2. Right now I have it grouping by the category then running through a foreach loop to compare each item in the group with the max date of the group, if the date is less than the max date it removes the item. There's got to be a way to take the loop out, but I haven't figured it out!

  • Bitmap files added in .rc not listed in resource.h

    I added a large number of bitmap files to my MFC project in resource view (Visual Studio). However, the resource.h file does not list any of these files. I would want them to be listed with exactly the same name as they are added in .rc bitmap list (say the name is xxx) I want it listed as #define IDB_xxx If I try to click on the bitmap in the .rc list and import it, it gets listed as IDB_BITMAP1. Owing to the large number of files it is not feasible for me to manually rename them for use in my code.

  • Do I need to include the 'this' when using a property name in a closure?

    I'm using a list of Actions to store an undo history for an object. Let's say I have a property of my object called myChildObject and it's being changed, so I want to store the undo action where I would set it back to it's current value: public class Class1 { public Class1() { } private readonly List<Action> m_undoActions = new List<Action>(); private SomeObject myChildObject { get; set; } public void ChangeState(SomeObject newChildObject) { // copies the reference SomeObject existingObject = myChildObject; m_undoActions.Add(() => myChildObject = existingObject); myChildObject = newChildObject; } } Looking at the lambda expression, existingObject is a local variable, so it's using a closure to pass a reference to that variable, but what about the property myChildObject? Do I need to use 'this' to preface it? Do I need to make a copy of the 'this' reference to a local variable first? Thanks for helping me understand this closure stuff.

    In a spring servlet xml file, I'm using org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean to regularly fire a set of triggers. <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean"> <property name="triggers"> <list> <ref local="AwesomeTrigger" /> <ref local="GreatTrigger" /> <ref local="FantasticTrigger"/> </list> </property> </bean> The issue is that in different environments, I don't want certain triggers firing. Is there a way to include some sort of configuration or variable defined either in my build.properties for the environment or in a spring custom context properties file that assists the bean xml to determine which triggers should be included in the list? That way, for example, AwesomeTrigger would be called in development but not qa.

The function should accept a list of pairs (elements which are related according to some equivalence relation), and return a set of equivalence classes without using iteration or assignment statements (e.g. do, set!, etc.). However, set utilities such as set-intersection, set-union and a function which eliminates duplicates in a list and built-in functions union, intersection, and remove-duplicates are allowed.   • Is there a SortedList<T> class in .net ? (not SortedList<Key,Value> which is actually a kind of Sort

    I need to sort some objects according to their contents (in fact according to one of their properties, which is NOT the key and may be duplicated between different objects) .net provides two classes (SortedDictionnary and SortedList), and both are some kind of Dictionaries. The only difference (AFAIK) is that SortedDictionnary uses a binary tree to maintain its state whereas SortedList does not and is accessible via an index. I could achieve what I want using a List, and then using its Sort() method with a custom implementation of IComparer, but it wouldn't be time-efficient as I would sort the whole List each time I insert a new object, whereas a good SortedList would just insert the item at the right position. What I need is a SortedList class with a RefreshPosition(int index) to move only the changed (or inserted) object rather than resorting the whole list each time an object inside changes. Am I missing something obvious ?

    In Word 2007 (and also on previous versions I have used), when I open folders, they open with icons or a list. I like 'detail' display and change it to that. I like detail because I can see which file is most recent and the size. But the next time I open the same folder, it opens back to icons or list but not details. How can I get it to stay where I left it? Thanks.

The solution below works fine but I am specifically looking for a way to lookup manager of the user who created the holiday request list item in the workflow. I have followed this link http://www.u2u.info/Blogs/Kevin/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=39 which shows you how to create a custom workflow approval. Below are the steps outlined by the link. User add new holiday item to list Workflow kicks off Wf has the manager hardcoded (need a way to look this up, maybe from AD??) and creates a Task for them to review the request.     I'm creating a custom extension and I would like to add a custom option when a certain item is purchased. For example, when the product "Name Tag" is purchased, the extension would detect that the specific product has been ordered and assign a custom option of "Year" to it. The user does not see this, but the attribute is added and displayed in the admin when viewing the order. Are there any specific listeners our there to accomplish this?

    So let me preface this by saying that I'm not an SQL wizard by any means. What I want to do is simple as a concept, but has presented me with a small challenge when trying to minimize the amount of database queries I'm performing. Let's say I have a table of departments. Within each department is a list of employees. What is the most efficient way of listing all the departments and which employees are in each department. So for example if I have a department table with: id name 1 sales 2 marketing And a people table with: id department_id name 1 1 Tom 2 1 Bill 3 2 Jessica 4 1 Rachel 5 2 John What is the best way list all departments and all employees for each department like so: Sales Tom Bill Rachel Marketing Jessica John Pretend both tables are actually massive. (I want to avoid getting a list of departments, and then looping through the result and doing an individual query for each department). Think similarly of selecting the statuses/comments in a Facebook-like system, when statuses and comments are stored in separate tables.

I don't want duplicate combinations, although I could live with them, eg in the above example I don't really need the combination [1,3,2] because it already present as [1,2,3]
