• scrollTop issue on constant moving div

  I have a FLASH object that I mouse over which in turn calls the following function to scroll a div. It works but due to the constant high speed scrolling it would throw up NULLS. This in turn caused IE to open a new page through my FLASH ActionScript 2.0 I found that by creating the SC variable and throwing in the condition "if it exists" keeps FLASH from causing IE to open a new page. However, it still creates an error behind the scenes of "Object Required". Although my application works I do not want load up memory with errors. • Getting id of row just inserted into MySQL database

  I have my table columns set like this: likes(id, like_message, timestamp) id is the primary key that is auto incrementing. This is the SQL that I use to add a row: $sql = "INSERT INTO `likes` (like_message, timestamp) VALUES ('$likeMsg', $timeStamp)"; Everything works, but now I need to throw back the id attribute of the newly inserted row. For example, if I insert a row and the id of that row is 13, I need to echo out 13 so my AJAX request can pick that up and use it. Any help would be appreciated, as well as related code samples. • How do I inherit abstract unit tests in Ruby?

  I have two unit tests that should share a lot of common tests with slightly different setup methods. If I write something like class Abstract < Test::Unit::TestCase def setup @field = create end def test_1 ... end end class Concrete1 < Abstract def create SomeClass1.new end end class Concrete2 < Abstract def create SomeClass2.new end end then Concrete1 does not seem to inherit the tests from Abstract. Or at least I cannot get them to run in eclipse. If I choose "Run all TestCases" for the file that contains Concrete1 then Abstract is run even though I do not want it to be. If I specify Concrete1 then it does not run any tests at all! If I specify test_1 in Concrete1 then it complains it cannot find it ("uncaught throw :invalid_test (ArgumentError)"). I'm new to Ruby. What am I missing here?

• Getting URL of executing JavaScript file (IE6-7 problem mostly)...

  Hey all, I've been trying to throw together a generic function that retrieves the absolute URL of an executing JavaScript file on a web page: http://gist.github.com/433486 It works great in almost all the browsers I've tested (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera v10 at least, and IE 8). It seems to fail, however, in IE 6 and 7. The callback function gets executed, but the retrieved name is simple the URL to the main HTML page, not the JavaScript file. So all I'm really asking is if there's some other way of getting the URL of the current JavaScript file (which could be IE 6 and 7 specific)? Thanks in advance!

  When creating a form, you can define a bunch of methods, clean_xyz, to make sure the data gets forced into the correct format. Is there any way to do this on a model level? Perhaps I can override the field setters somehow? I want it so that if I write something like my_address.postal_code = 'a1b2c3' It will automatically get formatted into A1B 2C3. Perhaps throw an exception if it can't be converted. That way I know I'll never have any malformed data in the database.

I can convert to double and then to long, but I'm just wondering if there is an easier way. I'm trying to implement basic type checking for the __init__ method of my binary tree class, and I want to be able to check if the value of the node is orderable, and throw an error if it isn't.   Hi I have the following powershell script: Import-Module BitsTransfer Get-BitsTransfer -AllUsers | Set-BitsTransfer -SetOwnerToCurrentUser which is running on Server2008 R2. I get the error message: Set-BitsTransfer : Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) I have googled around but cannot seem to find the reason why this happens or how to fix this. I suspect it is a permission issue. I am logged in as local administrator and use the 'Run as administrator' option when starting powershell. I have also tried setting the execution policy, but it makes no difference. I am not aware of permissions on commands in powershell. Could someone please shed some light on this. Thanks. Rouan

  Hi all, I've just installed a fresh copy of NPS on a new 2008 R2 Std server. When I go to add a Radius client, I get "NPS Error: The service being accessed is licensed for a particular number of connections. No more connections can be made to the service at this time because there are already as many connections as the service can accept. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070573)". What do I do? This is the first Radius client I am installing (and the first change to the vanilla NPS since running the role installation wizard) so obviously I have not hit the 50 client max. Cheers

• Eclipse says "Access Denied" when running javaw and how to fix it?

  I'm trying to get Eclipse to compile and run a HelloWorld class but it can't even do that. I have installed Eclipse x86 SDK 4.2.0 together bit with the latest JRE and JDK both in 64 bit as well. I also have the PATH variables set to respond to command prompts. When I try to run the following code: class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!" ) ; } } And it returns the following error: Exception occurred executing command line. Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" (in directory "C:\Users\Default\workspace\devs"): CreateProcess error=5, Access is denied. Can you help me fix this? Thanks!

  I'm trying to load Exchange Management Shell and it gives me a big 'ol red error that says: Import-Module : There were errors in loading the format data file: Microsoft.PowerShell, , %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Exchange\RemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml : File skipped because of the following validation exception: File %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Exchange\RemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml cannot be loaded. The file %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\ExchangeRemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml is not digitally signed. The script will not execute on the system. Please see "get-help about_signing" for more details... The %APPDATA% is stored on an external server on my network (that I can ping to without problems). I am missing a ton of PS cmdlets too, which I'm presuming are stored in '*.format.ps1xml' Can someone tell me where to start?
