Passing a variable from beggining to end - Paypal

Hi all, I'be been at this for days and i cant seem to figure it out. All i want to do is when subscribe button is pushed, a variable is send ( post get i dont care ) payment is completed and landed on the success page, with my variable! Drupal - Search box not working - custom theme template

Hello, I am using a customised version of search-theme-from.tpl When I use the search box, I do get transferred to the search page. But the search does not actually take place. The search box on the search results page does work though. Inline form fields with labels placed on top

I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but I'm at my wit's end. I'm trying to display 2 form fields inline, but with the label for each field on the top. In ascii art: Label 1 Label 2 --------- --------- | | | | --------- --------- Should be pretty simple. <label for=foo>Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar>Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> This will get me: --------- --------- Label 1 | | Label 2 | | --------- --------- To get the labels on top of the boxes, I add display=block: <label for=foo style="display:block">Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar style="display:block">Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> After I do this, the labels are where I want them, but the form fields are no longer inline: Label 1 --------- | | --------- Label 2 --------- | | --------- I've been unable to find a way to wrap my html so the fields display inline. Can anyone help?

Linux library that handles both GUI/textual mode user interfaces

Hello, I am looking for some Linux library/programming language that can be used on a variety of Linux platforms and can operate in both textual and GUI mode interfaces. For example YCP (the Yast programming language) will display in GUI if in Gnome/KDE environment and run in text/ncurses mode when display is not available. The problem is that YCP is SUSE specific. Any ideas will be appreciated!

Stop animation on last element

I have a sliding panel and on the last element I want the animation to stop i've tried using the .is(':last') and it doesn't stop. here is my code. the current var is set to the first element when the form loads. Hi, considering I have experience with Java SE: which language should I learn(and is best for that purpose) in order to build web applications some day with it? I have been contemplating PHP and Java EE. The latter does indeed seems as an obvious choice given my Java SE knowledge. But how does it fares in comparison with PHP and how good is it for the aforementioned purpose? If there is a better language for this purpose, feel free to recommend it. Thank you.

Scientific Data processing(Graph comparison and interpretation)

Hi stackoverflow friends, I'm trying to write a program to automate one of my more boring and repetative work tasks. I have some programming experience but none with processing or interpreting large volumes of data so i am seeking your advice(both suggestions of techneques to try and also things to read to learn more about doing this stuff). I have a piece of equipment that monitors an experiment by taking repeated samples and displays the readings on its screen as a graph. The input of experiment can be altered and one of these changes should produce a change in a section of the graph which i currently identify by eye and is what im looking for in the experiment. I want to automate it so that a computer looks at a set of results and spots the experiment input that causes the change. I can already extract the results from the machine. Currently they results for a run are in the form of an integer array with the index being the sample number and the corresponding value being the measurement. The overall shape of the graph will be similar for each experiment run. The change im looking for will be roughly the same and will occur in approximatly the same place every time for the correct experiment input. Unfortunatly there are a few gotcha's that make this problem more difficult. There is some noise in the measuring process which mean there is some random variation in the measured values between different runs. Although the overall shape of the graph remains the same. The time the experiment takes varies slightly each run causing two effects. First, the a whole graph may be shifted slightly on the x axis relative to another runs graph. Second, individual features may appear slightly wider or narrower in different runs. In both these cases the variation isn't particularly large and you can assume that the only non random variation is caused by the correct input being found. Thank you for your time, Pinky

Excel VBA creating a new column with formula

I have an excel file with a column which has date data. I want the user to input a date of their choosing and then I want to create a new column that lists the difference in days between the two dates. The Macro that I have is working but I have a few questions and I would like to make it better. Link to MWE small data file is here. The user input date was 9/30/2013, which I stored in H20 Macro: Sub Date_play() Dim x As Date Dim x2 As Date Dim y As Variant x = InputBox(Prompt:="Please enter the Folder Report Date. The following formats are acceptable: 4 1 2013 or April 1 2013 or 4/1/2013") x2 = Range("E2") y = DateDiff("D", x2, x) MsgBox y 'Used DateDiff above and it works but I don't know how to use it to fill a column or indeed a cell. Range("H20").FormulaR1C1 = x Range("H1").FormulaR1C1 = "Diff" Range("H2").Formula = "=DATEDIF(E2,$H$20,""D"")" Range("H2").AutoFill Destination:=Range("H2:H17") Range("H2:H17").Select End Sub Now, could I have done this without storing the user input date in a particular cell? I would've preferred to use the variable "x" in the formula but it wasn't working for me. I had to store the user input in H20 and then use $H$20. What's the difference between the function Datedif and the procedure DateDiff? I am able to use the procedure DateDiff in my macro but I don't know how to use it to fill out my column. Is one method better than the other? Is there a better way to add columns to the existing sheet, where the columns include some calculations involving existing data on the sheet and some user inputs? There are tons of more complicated calculations I want to do next. Thanks

Why does setting the margin on a div not affect the position of child content?

I'd like to understand a little more clearly how css margins work with divs and child content. If I try this... <div style="clear: both; margin-top: 2em;"> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </div> ...the Save button is right up against the User Role (margin fail): If I change it to this... <div style="clear: both;"> <input style="margin-top: 2em;" type="submit" value="Save" /> </div> ...there is a gap between the Save button and the User Role (margin win): Questions: Can someone explain what I'm observing? Why doesn't putting a margin on the div cause the input to move down? Why must I put the margin on the input itself? There must be some fundamental law of css I am not grasping.

jQuery hide all table rows which contain a hidden field matching a value

I have a table for which I'd like to filter rows based on whether or not they contain a hidden field matching a value. AJAX filter MySQL results using checkboxes

I'm attempting to get to grips with displaying filterable MySQL data within a PHP page based on user checkbox selections. I have a database of domain names and the dates on which these will require renewal as per Nominet DAC information and I can get unfiltered data to display, but filtering results by domain extensions is proving tricky for me to accomplish. I should point out at this stage that I am a serious newcomer to many of the ideas I am trying to learn to work with here, so please be gentle. I have tried following some other articles on here also, but no dice. Define "Validation in the Model"

If not, I apologise in advance. If you come from the Validation in the Model camp - does Model mean OOP representation of data (i.e. Active Record/Data Mapper) as "Entity" (to borrow the DDD terminology) - in which case you would, I assume, want all Model classes to inherit common validation constraints. Or can these rules simply be part of a Service in the Model - i.e. a Validation service? For example, could you consider Zend_Form and it's validation classes part of the Model? The concept of a Domain Model does not appear to be limited to Entities, and so validation may not necessarily need to be confined to this Entities. It seems that you would require a lot of potentially superfluous handing of values and responses back and forth between forms and "Entities" - and in some instances you may not persist the data recieved from user input, or recieve it from user input at all.

I have two fields which calculate a total, but I have a radio button pair that determines a variable within the equation. I want to know how does my controller know to go to the MatterDAL implementation of the Interface IMatterDAL. What if I have another class called MatterDAL2 which is based on the interface. How will my controller know then to call the right method? I am sorry if this is a stupid question, this is baffling me.

What I would like to do, is take this string and apply the values to the original form when the user goes back to the form as 'pre-selected' checkboxes, indicated that the user has already selected those values previously, and keeping those values in the database if they choose to edit any other information in the form. I'm assuming this would need to be done with javascript but if there is a way to do it with PHP I'd rather do it that way.

Inspiration and influence of the else clause of loop statements in Python?

Python offers an optional else clause in loop statements, which is executed if and only if the loop is not terminated by a break. For an interesting discussion about this neglected commodity, see this question. Here, I just wanted to know: if the very concept of this loop-else construct originates from another language (either theoretical or actually implemented), conversely, if it was taken up in any newer language. May be I should ask the former to Guido, but he surely is a too busy guy for such a futile inquiry. ;-)
