  • how to avoid jQuery UI draggable from also triggering click event

    A have a large div (a map) that is draggable via jQuery UI draggable. The div has child divs which are clickable. My problem is that if you drag the map, on mouse up, the click event is fired on whatever child div you started the drag from. How do I stop the mouse up from triggering the click event if its part of a drag (as opposed to someone just clicking without a drag, in which case the click event is desired).

  • No matter what, I can't get this stupid progress bar to update from a thread!

    I have a Windows app written in C (using gcc/MinGW) that works pretty well except for a few UI problems. One, I simply cannot get the progress bar to update from a thread. In fact, I probably can't get ANY UI stuff to update. Basically, I have a spawned thread that does some processing, and from that thread I attempt to update the progress bar in the main thread. I tried this by using PostMessage() to the main hwnd, but no luck even though I can do other things like open message boxes. However, it's unclear whether the message box is getting called within the thread or on the main thread.     I've got the following regex that was working perfectly until a new situation arose ^.*[?&]U(?:RL)?=(?<URL>.*)$ Basically, it's used against URLs, to grab EVERYTHING after the U=, or URL= and return it in the URL match So, for the following http://localhost?a=b&u=http://otherhost?foo=bar URL = http://otherhost?foo=bar Unfortunately an odd case came up http://localhost?a=b&u=http://otherhost?foo=bar&url=http://someotherhost Ideally, I want URL to be "http://otherhost?foo=bar&url=http://someotherhost", instead, it is just "http://someotherhost"

    In Silverlight with RIA services it is very easy to implement simple data filtering with 'FilterDescriptor' instances. However I've got a case where I have several filters and I want to enable or disable them based on other filters. It seems like a simple 'Enabled' property would make this really easy - but there is none. Is there a way to achieve this without just manually defining all the filters I need every time the relevant checkbox is checked.
