  We are using Exchange 2010. I would like to retrieve a list of total sent emails and received emails from all users in the work place. The list should have all the users' names, then total of sent and received emails. I have tried the code below and tried to change this to no avail. • How to effectively clip the amount of entries in a dictionary?

  I had a List<myClass> myList for storing a list of items. When I had to clip this (discard any amount of items above some threshold) I used: myList.RemoveRange(threshold, myList.Count - threshold); where threshold is the max amount of things the list can contain Now I've upgraded the datatype to a Dictionary<key, myClass> myDictionary How can I basically do the same: Discard all entries above some threshold. (It doesn't matter which ones are discarded) I guess I could foreach through the keys collection and manually delete all keys/value pairs. But I was hoping there was a more elegant solution.

  I have a TableViewController which display a list of NewsItem objects: @interface NewsItem : NSObject { NSString *feedID; NSString *title; NSDate *published; } I'm trying to implement a Table View Controller (multiple sections) that can display the list in two ways: One divide News Items into sections which based on Published Date The other would be based on FeedID (News source). And I don't know how to structure the data source so that the code is easy to maintain. I tried to put the list of News Items into a 2 dimension Array in this case is a NSMutableArray of NSArray objects. However I got some objc_exception_throw and I don't think this is flexible enough. Could you guys give me some ideas?

• Initialize generic object from a System.Type

  I need to create a generic type, but I do not know the type at compile time. I would like to do this: Type t = typeof(whatever); var list = new List<t> this won't compile, because t is not a valid type. But it does know all about a valid type. Is there a way to dynamically create the generic list from a System.Type like this? I may need reflection, and that's ok, I am just a bit lost here.

• Disambiguating Named Entities in Java

  I have a list of strings (company names, in this case), and a Java program that extracts a list of things that look like company names out of mostly-unstructured text. I need to match each element of extracted text to a string in the list. Caveat: the unstructured text has typos, things like "Blah, Inc." referred to as "Blah," etc. I've tried Levenshtein Edit Distance, but that fails for predictable reasons. Are there known best-practices ways of tackling this problem? Or am I back to manual data-entry?

  I'm presenting a list of items to the user with a field for a new item, like this: - current_user.tasks.build - semantic_form_for current_user do |f| - f.semantic_fields_for :tasks do |t| - t.inputs do = t.input :_destroy, :as => :boolean, :label => '' - if t.object.new_record? = t.input :name, :label => false - else = t.object.name Which looks lovely and works like a charm. My only problem is I want the new record at the TOP of the list, not the bottom. Is there an elegant and easy way to do this, or am I going to have to do the new element separately, or loop through the list manually?

• zsh partially completion in aptitude/wajig

  I'm using wajig to install packages, however when i've changed my shell to zsh it turned out that zsh doesn't list all packages in completion list, for ex. apt-get install octave[TAB] (about 70 completions) but when i try wajig install octave[TAB] or aptitude install octave[TAB] zsh shows only 19 completions other shells i've tested (bash, fish) shows all ~70 completions in all 3 cases. So is there any way to 'fix' this completion in zsh?

  I have a databound Listbox bound to a generic list as follows (Provider is a very simple class that just includes a single property (Name). ProviderList = new List<Provider>(); //Populate list Providers.ItemsSource = ProviderList; I can save the selected item with no problem but I can't manage to set the selected item from code afterwards. I am trying to do so as follows: int x = Providers.Items.IndexOf((Provider)_Settings["provider"]); However IndexOf() is always returning -1. If I inspect both Providers.Items[1] and _Setting["provider"] at runtime using the immediate window they both return {StoreRetrieveData.Provider} Name: "Greenflag" Am I doing something wrong (well clearly I am)?

  I'm trying to implement my own version of the 'cd' command that presents the user with a list of hard-coded directories to choose from, and the user has to enter a number corresponding to an entry in the list. The program, named my_cd.py for now, should then effectively 'cd' the user to the chosen directory. Example of how this should work: /some/directory $ my_cd.py 1) ~ 2) /bin/ 3) /usr Enter menu selection, or q to quit: 2 /bin $ Currently, I'm trying to 'cd' using os.chdir('dir'). However, this doesn't work, probably because my_cd.py is kicked off in its own child process. I tried wrapping the call to my_cd.py in a sourced bash script named my_cd.sh: #! /bin/bash function my_cd() { /path/to/my_cd.py } /some/directory $ . my_cd.sh $ my_cd ... shows list of dirs, but doesn't 'cd' in the interactive shell Any ideas on how I can get this to work? Is it possible to change my interactive shell's current directory from a python script?

  In couchdb website - technical overview - security and validation - http://couchdb.apache.org/docs/overview.html - it writes that (on reader access part) "To protect document contents, CouchDB documents can have a reader list. This is an optional list of reader-names allowed to read the document. When a reader list is used, protected documents are only viewable by listed users." • What is the best practice for accessing Model using MVVM pattern

  I have a database that communicates with webservices with my Model (own thread) and exposes Data Objects. My UI application consists of different Views and ViewModels and Custom Controls. I'm using ServiceProvider (IServiceProvider) to access the Model and route the events to the UI thread. Communication between the ViewModels is handeled by a Messenger. Is this way to go? I was also wondering what is the best way to strucutre the DataObjects At the moment i have the DataObjects that have a hierarchy structure but does not support INotifyProperty though the children list are of type of ObservableCollection. I have no possiblity to implement notifypropertychange on the properties. I was wondering the best way of making them MVVM friendly. Implementing a partial class and adding all the properties or commands that are necessary or wrapping all the DataObjects and keep the Model list and MVVM list in sync. All thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

  This might be a dupe. I did not find enough information on this. I was discussing memory allocation for collections in .Net. Where is the memory for elements allocated in a collection? List<int> myList = new List<int>(); The variable myList is allocated on stack and it references the List object created on heap. The question is when int elements are added to the myList, where would they be created ? Can anyone point the right direction?

  I have 2 Lists: List<User> List<UserStats> So I want to add a property Count to User (it doesn't have one now, and I can't change the implementation at this point). For a web service call, that returns json, I want to modify the User object. Basically I add the Users to a collection. So I want to add a modified user class (via anonymous functions?) to the collection before I serialize it to json. So something like: loop users { user.Count = userstats[user.ID].Count; list.Add(user); } is this possible? how?

I have, for example, the following list, each item separated by comma: monkeys, dogs, cats pineapple, banana, orange yellow, red, blue, green silver, gold, platinum delphi, java, c++, visual basic I want to sort each line alphabetically, WITHOUT changing line order. My desired result would be: cats, dogs, monkeys banana, orange, pineapple blue, green, red, yellow gold, platinum, silver c++, delphi, java, visual basic My target list has got 3000+ lines, so it should be an automated process. • Non US characters in section headers for a UITableView

  I have added a section list for a simple Core Data iPhone app. I followed this so question to create it - How to use the first character as a section name but my list also contain items starting with characters outside A-Z, specially Å,Ä and Ö used here in Sweden. The problem now is that when the table view shows the section list the three last characters are drawn wrong. See image below It seems like my best option right now is to let those items be sorted under 'Z' if ([letter isEqual:@"Å"] || [letter isEqual:@"Ä"] || [letter isEqual:@"Ö"]) letter = @"Z"; Someone that have figured this one out? And while I'm at it... 'Å', 'Ä' and 'Ö' should be sorted in that order but are sorted as 'Ä', 'Å' and 'Ö' by Core Data NSSortDescriptor. I have tried to set set the selector to localizedCaseInsensitiveCompare: but that gives a out of order section name 'Ä. Objects must be sorted by section name' error. Seen that too?

  Hello all, I am a newb to Android and Java and want to write a funtion that will display a list based on a varable that I pass to the function. The function is below and the code below creates an array out of a string called type, but what I want to do is pass it a variable string and have it build a list based on that string. So if I wanted the type list I would say list_it("type") But if I try something like getResources().getStringArray(R.array.thelist); it doesn't work.   I need little help with transferring data from variables, arrays, lists to my SQL Server. Im not bad in SQL, but im not familiar with DataSet, DataTable objects. My data is now stored in list of strings (List). Every string in that list looks similar to this: QWERTY,19920604,0.91,0.35,0.34,0.35,343840 There are about 900000 rows like this. Target datatypes in SQL Server: BIGINT (primary key, im not inserting it, its identity(1,1)) VARCHAR(10), DATE, DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), INT How to convert that data to SQL Server data types? How to insert that data into SQL Server? Also i need some progress bar updates between inserts. I could do this using old-fashion SQL command, but i have learn more modern way :)

• How does hibernate use an empty string for an equality restriction?

  I have a column that potentially has some bad data and I can't clean it up, so I need to check for either null or empty string. I'm doing a Hibernate Criteria query so I've got the following that returns incorrectly right now: Session session = getSessionFactory().openSession(); Transaction tx = session.beginTransaction(); Criteria myCriteria = session.createCriteria(Object); ... myCriteria.add(Restrictions.or(Restrictions.isNull("stringColumn"), Restrictions.eq("stringColumn", ""))); List<Objects> list = myCriteria.list(); I can't get it to properly return the results I'd expect. So as an experiment I changed the second restriction to read: Restrictions.eq("stringColumn", "''") And it started returning the expected results, so is hibernate incorrectly translating my empty string (e.g. "") into a SQL empty string (e.g. ''), or am I just doing this wrong?
