    I am trying to capture screenshots on test failure using selenium-client and rspec. I run this command: $ spec my_spec.rb \ --require 'rubygems,selenium/rspec/reporting/selenium_test_report_formatter' \ --format=Selenium::RSpec::SeleniumTestReportFormatter:./report.html It creates the report correctly when everything passes, since no screenshots are required.   • How to prevent non-admin user from disabling the Outlook 2007Addin?

    As per the MSDN documentation with the Office 2007 system, office Addins are registered under HKCU and not under HKLM. I have an Outlook 2007 addin which is also registered under HKCU. But the problem is that, even non admin users can also disable the addin since it is in HKCU. However with Outlook2003 addin this was not possible because it got registered in HKLM. I also see some of the Outlook 2007 addins that are registered under HKLM like Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin, Microsoft outlook Mobile service. When a non admin user tries to disable it, outlook displays a pop up message saying that these addins are registered in HKLM and user does not have the permission to disable it. So How can I register my Outlook 2007 addin under HKLM like these?

However, he's having a difficult time getting it set up, with some apparent code problems in the C source code for uWSGI.   • Multi-file, simultaneous, drag-and-drop file uploads in the browser without ActiveX?

    I like how Windows Skydrive lets you drag files into Internet Explorer where an ActiveX component uploads those files to your Skydrive account in a queue. This avoids the cumbersome traditional HTML approach where you present multiple "Browse" buttons and the user has to select individual files one by one, click Upload and then select more files after the first batch completes. What I'm not sure is how the same effect could be achieved in a web app without ActiveX. Any suggestions?

    I am working with Infragistics35.WebUI.WebSchedule.v8.2. I am not seeing any good documentation on this on the Infragistics Web site. Does anyone have any sample code I could see? I am trying to create a week view of the calendar. One that "Admins" can edit and the rest of the users can only view. I would love to have a different dblclick event fire based on role, so that a read only version of the activity would show for non admins. Is that possible? I'm just using an access db on the site in the App_Data directory. I really just needed (I thought) an out of the box solution. Cheers.

  • Filter a model's attributes before outputting as json

    Hey guys, I need to output my model as json and everything is going fine. However, some of the attributes need to be 'beautified' by filtering them through some helper methods, such as number_to_human_size. How would I go about doing this? In other words, say that I have an attribute named bytes and I want to pass it through number_to_human_size and have that result be output to json. I would also like to 'trim' what gets output as json if that's possible, since I only need some of the attributes. Is this possible? Can someone please give me an example? I would really appreciate it.

  • Cucumber Textmate Highlighting

    I am trying to get highlighting for Cucumber to work with Textmate. I already installed the Cucumber Textmate Bundle (which is supposed to include the highlighting). I am working with Ryan Bates' Railscasts theme (description for it is in the about page) for textmate, but for some reason In order to, As a, I want, etc do not get highlighted in foobar.feature located in my features folder. Seems like it's working for for Ryan in his "Beginning with Cucumber" screencast. Any help? Thanks!

    Hi, I'm trying to get a page with an ISO-8859-1 encoding clicking on a link, so the code is similar to this: page_result = page.link_with( :text => 'link_text' ).click So far I get the result with a wrong encoding, so I see characters like: 'T?tulo:' instead of 'Título:' I've tried several approaches, including: Stating the encoding in the first request using the agent like: @page_search = @agent.get( :url => 'http://www.server.com', :headers => { 'Accept-Charset' => 'ISO-8859-1' } ) Stating the encoding for the page itself page_result.encoding = 'ISO-8859-1' But I must be doing something wrong: a simple puts always show the wrong characters. Do you know how to state the encoding?     Hi, I use paperclip to add a file to my model. I want to use the new feature of firefox 3.6, xhr.sendAsBinary, to send a file with an ajax request.   • Windows Service Setup issue removing the windows service

    I'm doing a windows service setup project on VS2008, it has a custom action for setting app.config values. The setup work fine installing the service and setting the app.config values but when I try to uninstall the service, it removes the files but keep the service registered, so I can install it again using the setup, I need to use "sc delete " in the vs command prompt to proper remove the service... anyone have any idea which could be the issue here?   • Using named_scopes on the join model of a has_many :through

    Hi folks. I've been beating my head against the wall on something that on the surface should be very simple. Lets say I have the following simplified models: user.rb has_many :memberships has_many :groups, :through => :memberships membership.rb belongs_to :group belongs_to :user STATUS_CODES = {:admin => 1, :member => 2, :invited => 3} named_scope :active, :conditions => {:status => [[STATUS_CODES[:admin], STATUS_CODES[:member]]} group.rb has_many :memberships has_many :users, :through => :memberships Simple, right? So what I want to do is get a collection of all the groups a user is active in, using the existing named scope on the join model. Something along the lines of User.find(1).groups.active. Obviously this doesn't work. But as it stands, I need to do something like User.find(1).membrships.active.all(:include => :group) which returns a collection of memberships plus groups. I don't want that. I know I can add another has_many on the User model with conditions that duplicate the :active named_scope on the Membership model, but that's gross. has_many :active_groups, :through => :memberships, :source => :group, :conditions => ... So my question: is there a way of using intermediary named scopes when traversing directly between models? Many thanks.

Next to each of them I would like to display a label containing the title of the text. For instance First Name, and Last Name would not be known previously. How do I go about doing that? It seems that I cannot access the attributes directly. But when I use the label field, the variable name in the label is displayed not the actual value.

The situation is: I have a ROR project with a table in the db called "categories", and the category names are in english, category has many "question" entries. In localization file config/locals/fr.yml, these categories were translated to french. Consider about expandability, we can't change the category names in the db to french. User can search by type part of the key word. Here is a example: Category Name: Health and Medical In french: Santé et médecine so how can I do this: type "Santé médecine abc" in the search field and sphinx will return the "questions" under "Health and Medical" category and have keyword "abc"?

    I'm trying to create a custom MongoMapper data type in RoR 2.3.5 called Translatable: class Translatable < String def initialize(translation, culture="en") end def languages end def has_translation(culture)? end def self.to_mongo(value) end def self.from_mongo(value) end end I want to be able to use it like this: class Page include MongoMapper::Document key :title, Translatable, :required => true key :content, String end Then implement like this: p = Page.new p.title = "Hello" p.title(:fr) = "Bonjour" p.title(:es) = "Hola" p.content = "Some content here" p.save p = Page.first p.languages => [:en, :fr, :es] p.has_translation(:fr) => true en = p.title => "Hello" en = p.title(:en) => "Hello" fr = p.title(:fr) => "Bonjour" es = p.title(:es) => "Hola" In mongoDB I imagine the information would be stored like: { "_id" : ObjectId("4b98cd7803bca46ca6000002"), "title" : { "en" : "Hello", "fr" : "Bonjour", "es" : "Hola" }, "content" : "Some content here" } So Page.title is a string that defaults to English (:en) when culture is not specified. I would really appreciate any help.
