  • Is there an encoding method that is mutual to flash and php?

    - by Gus
I'm base64 encoding a JPG in AS3 and passing it to PHP where it would be decoded. It appears that AS3's encodeToBase64String() function and and PHP's base64_decode() function do not use the same algorithm. Is there a library or API for either language that would allow it to interface with the other? Alternatively, does anyone even know what PHP's default base64 map is? My Google searching is not yielding results.

Hello, I am trying to implement SHA2 encryption instead SHA1. For this, I know that bit number between these two hash algorithms are different and it confuses me. • Should a g_object_new have a matching g_object_unref?

    - by legends2k
I'm using libnotify to show desktop notifications in my application; notify_notification_new() returns a NotifyNotification*, which should be passed as the first param to further function calls of the notification library. There is no notify_notification_free() which frees the pointer it returns. I looked up the source of notify_notification_new() and internally it does a g_object_new(), gets a GObject* and returns it as a NotfiyNotification*, so when my application does the clean up, should I call a g_object_unref() on the pointer returned by notify_notification_new()?

  • Linq Expression Trees in Compact Framework.

    - by Michal Drozdowicz
The lack of expression trees in Compact Framework has bugged me for some time now, but I haven't really looked for a solution. Today, I've found a blog post about an alternative System.Linq.Expressions built on top of Mono System.Core and used e.g. by db4o (you can find it here). My question is - have you used this library and if so, what were your experiences with it (especially regarding performance)?

  • Linker warnings when using stdscr (ncurses)

    - by flarn2006
Okay, so I'm getting these warnings whenever I try to use stdscr in pdcurses: LINK : warning LNK4098: defaultlib "LIBC" conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library LINK : warning LNK4049: locally defined symbol "_stdscr" imported LINK : warning LNK4049: locally defined symbol "_SP" imported How do I fix this? They're just warnings, but when I run my program, it crashes, so they probably have something to do with it. Especially considering the fact that the line it crashes at is the one that uses stdscr...

  • Qt: Is it possible to use mixins technique?

    - by Eye of Hell
Hello. Qt library includes advanced meta-programming capabilities using they own preprocessing moc compiler. Does anyone knows, is it possible to create some kind of mix-ins via it? For example, i have a QString and want to add a method to it without sub-classing and changing existing code. Does Qt have such solutions for that?

  • Java configuration framework

    - by Steen
I'm in the process of weeding out all hardcoded values in a java library and was wondering what framework would be the best (in terms of zero- or close-to-zero configuration) to handle run-time configuration? I would prefer xml-based config-files, but it's not essential. Please do only reply if you have practical experience with a framework. I'm not looking for examples, but experience... Thanks for taking the time.

  • Capture video from WPF app

    - by Julien Couvreur
I want to write a C# application which can record a video capture of one of its WPF controls. Is there a solution in .Net to record video from a control, or is there some library I could use? My goal is to write a SketchCast application. The use case is the following: launch SketchCast app and press record button, write ink into a WPF ink area, and talk, press stop, recorded voice and ink animation get saved into a video file in some encoding.

  • Skip Lists -- ever used them?

    - by Head Geek
I'm wondering whether anyone here has ever used a skip list. It looks to have roughly the same advantages as a balanced binary tree, but is simpler to implement. If you have, did you write your own, or use a pre-written library (and if so, what was its name)?

  • How to encrypt/decrypt a long string in PHP?

    - by jodeci
I doubt if this is encryption but I can't find a better phrase. I need to pass a long query string like this: http://test.com/test.php?key=[some_very_loooooooooooooooooooooooong_query_string] The query string contains NO sensitive information so I'm not really concerned about security in this case. It's just...well, too long and ugly. Is there a library function that can let me encode/encrypt/compress the query string into something similar to the result of a md5() (similar as in, always a 32 character string), but decode/decrypt/decompress-able?

  • Open source C program with little requirements and at least 2MB binary size.

    - by max
Hi, I'm developing a operating system and I need a test program (function of any kind) to test certain internal features. I cannot find any appropriate program to do this job. Probably one of you knows one. The program should be open source, written in C with very little user library usage (only file IO, pthreads, stdio, stdlib preferred) and must have a binary size of at least 2MB. Thanks for any suggestions.
