  • Getting parameters values blank and null when using custom wsdl in axis2

    - by Narendra
    Hi All, I am using axis2 for my web services creation. I want to user my own wsdl file instead of using generated wsdl file. When I am placing my own wsdl file in META-INF directory and deploying my web services they are deploying successfully. But the problem is when i try to test these web service using soapui it throwing null pointer exception. For example I am invoking following operations in soap ui. public String testWebService(String a, String b) { LogHelper.info("Value of a is:"+a); LogHelper.info("Value of b is :"+b); String c=a.trim()+b.Trim(); return "suceess" } output in console: value of a is: value of b is:null 19:58:47,781 ERROR [RPCMessageReceiver] Exception occurred while trying to invoke service method testWebService java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.apache.axis2.rpc.receivers.RPCUtil.invokeServiceClass(RPCUtil.java:194) at org.apache.axis2.rpc.receivers.RPCMessageReceiver.invokeBusinessLogic(RPCMessageReceiver.java:102) at org.apache.axis2.receivers.AbstractInOutMessageReceiver.invokeBusinessLogic(AbstractInOutMessageReceiver.java:40) at org.apache.axis2.receivers.AbstractMessageReceiver.receive(AbstractMessageReceiver.java:114) at org.apache.axis2.engine.AxisEngine.receive(AxisEngine.java:173) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.HTTPTransportUtils.processHTTPPostRequest(HTTPTransportUtils.java:173) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.AxisServlet.doPost(AxisServlet.java:142) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:191) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.SecurityAssociationValve.invoke(SecurityAssociationValve.java:190) at org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.JaccContextValve.invoke(JaccContextValve.java:92) at o...................................................... • Issue with clipping rectangles and back to front rendering

    - by Milo
    Here is my problem. My rendering algorithm renders from back to front. But logically, clipping rectangles need to be applied from front to back. Hence why the following does not work: void AguiWidgetManager::recursiveRender(const AguiWidget *root) { //recursively calls itself to render widgets from back to front AguiWidget* nonConstRoot = (AguiWidget*)root; if(!nonConstRoot->isVisable()) { return; } //push the clipping rectangle if(nonConstRoot->isClippingChildren()) { graphicsContext->pushClippingRect(nonConstRoot->getClippingRectangle()); } if(nonConstRoot->isEnabled()) { nonConstRoot->paint(AguiPaintEventArgs(true,graphicsContext)); for(std::vector<AguiWidget*>::const_iterator it = root->getPrivateChildBeginIterator(); it != root->getPrivateChildEndIterator(); ++it) { recursiveRender(*it); } for(std::vector<AguiWidget*>::const_iterator it = root->getChildBeginIterator(); it != root->getChildEndIterator(); ++it) { recursiveRender(*it); } } else { nonConstRoot->paint(AguiPaintEventArgs(false,graphicsContext)); for(std::vector<AguiWidget*>::const_iterator it = root->getPrivateChildBeginIterator(); it != root->getPrivateChildEndIterator(); ++it) { recursiveRenderDisabled(*it); } for(std::vector<AguiWidget*>::const_iterator it = root->getChildBeginIterator(); it != root->getChildEndIterator(); ++it) { recursiveRenderDisabled(*it); } } //release clipping rectangle if(nonConstRoot->isClippingChildren()) { graphicsContext->popClippingRect(); } } I could ofcourse go to the top of the tree, then apply clipping rectangles inward until I get to the currently rendered widget, but that would involve lots of clipping rectangles @ 60 frames per second. I want to minimize calls to pushing and popping rectangles. What could I do, Thanks

  • Vector of pointers to base class, odd behaviour calling virtual functions

    - by Ink-Jet
    I have the following code #include <iostream> #include <vector> class Entity { public: virtual void func() = 0; }; class Monster : public Entity { public: void func(); }; void Monster::func() { std::cout << "I AM A MONSTER" << std::endl; } class Buddha : public Entity { public: void func(); }; void Buddha::func() { std::cout << "OHMM" << std::endl; } int main() { const int num = 5; // How many of each to make std::vector<Entity*> t; for(int i = 0; i < num; i++) { Monster m; Entity * e; e = &m; t.push_back(e); } for(int i = 0; i < num; i++) { Buddha b; Entity * e; e = &b; t.push_back(e); } for(int i = 0; i < t.size(); i++) { t[i]->func(); } return 0; } However, when I run it, instead of each class printing out its own message, they all print the "Buddha" message. I want each object to print its own message: Monsters print the monster message, Buddhas print the Buddha message. What have I done wrong?

  • Linked list recursive reverse

    - by Phoenix
    I was looking at the code below from stanford library: void recursiveReverse(struct node** head_ref) { struct node* first; struct node* rest; /* empty list */ if (*head_ref == NULL) return; /* suppose first = {1, 2, 3}, rest = {2, 3} */ first = *head_ref; rest = first->next; /* List has only one node */ if (rest == NULL) return; /* put the first element on the end of the list */ recursiveReverse(&rest); first->next->next = first; /* tricky step -- see the diagram */ first->next = NULL; /* fix the head pointer */ *head_ref = rest; } What I don't understand is in the last recursive step for e.g if list is 1-2-3-4 Now for the last recursive step first will be 1 and rest will be 2. So if you set *head_ref = rest .. that makes the head of the list 2 ?? Can someone please explain how after reversing the head of the list becomes 4 ??

  • How to cast sockaddr_storage and avoid breaking strict-aliasing rules

    - by sinoth
    I'm using Beej's Guide to Networking and came across an aliasing issue. He proposes a function to return either the IPv4 or IPv6 address of a particular struct: 1 void *get_in_addr( struct sockaddr *sa ) 2 { 3 if (sa->sa_family == AF_INET) 4 return &(((struct sockaddr_in*)sa)->sin_addr); 5 else 6 return &(((struct sockaddr_in6*)sa)->sin6_addr); 7 } This causes GCC to spit out a strict-aliasing error for sa on line 3. As I understand it, it is because I call this function like so: struct sockaddr_storage their_addr; ... inet_ntop(their_addr.ss_family, get_in_addr((struct sockaddr *)&their_addr), connection_name, sizeof connection_name); I'm guessing the aliasing has to do with the fact that the their_addr variable is of type sockaddr_storage and another pointer of a differing type points to the same memory. Is the best way to get around this sticking sockaddr_storage, sockaddr_in, and sockaddr_in6 into a union? It seems like this should be well worn territory in networking, I just can't find any good examples with best practices. Also, if anyone can explain exactly where the aliasing issue takes place, I'd much appreciate it.

  • I'm having trouble with using std::stack to retrieve the values from a recursive function.

    - by Peter Stewart
    Thanks to the help I received in this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2761918/how-do-i-use-this-in-a-member-function I have a nice, concise recursive function to traverse a tree in postfix order: void Node::postfix() { if (left != __nullptr) { left->postfix(); } if (right != __nullptr) { right->postfix(); } cout<<cargo<<"\n"; return; }; Now I need to evaluate the values and operators as they are returned. My problem is how to retrieve them. I tried the std::stack: #include <stack> stack <char*> s; void Node::postfix() { if (left != __nullptr) { left->postfix(); } if (right != __nullptr) { right->postfix(); } s.push(cargo); return; }; but when I tried to access it in main() while (!s.empty()) { cout<<s.top<<"\n"; s.pop; } I got the error: 'std::stack<_Ty::top': function call missing argument list; use '&std::stack<_Ty::top' to create a pointer to member' I'm stuck. Another question to follow shortly.

  • Help decrypting in ColdFusion passwords created in .NET

    - by KnightStalker
    I have a SQL db storing passwords that were encrypted through a .NET application, that I need to decrypt through a ColdFusion app. I just can't seem to get things set upproperly for the CF decryption to work. Any help would by appreciated. Thanks. The .NET decryption code is: public string Decrypt(string input) { try { DESCryptoServiceProvider des = new DESCryptoServiceProvider(); int ZeroBasedByteCount = (input.Length / 2); //Put the input string into the byte array byte[] inputByteArray = new byte[ZeroBasedByteCount]; int i; int x; for (x = 0;x<ZeroBasedByteCount;x++) { i = (Convert.ToInt32(input.Substring(x * 2, 2), 16)); inputByteArray[x] = (byte)i; } //Create the crypto objects des.Key = ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(key); des.IV = ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(key); MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); CryptoStream cs = new CryptoStream(ms, des.CreateDecryptor(), CryptoStreamMode.Write); //Flush the data through the crypto stream into the memory stream cs.Write(inputByteArray, 0, inputByteArray.Length); cs.FlushFinalBlock(); //Get the decrypted data back from the memory stream StringBuilder ret = new StringBuilder(); foreach(byte b in ms.ToArray()) { ret.Append((char)b); } return ret.ToString(); } catch(Exception ex) { throw(ex); return null; } }

  • Poor LLVM JIT performance

    - by Paul J. Lucas
    I have a legacy C++ application that constructs a tree of C++ objects. I want to use LLVM to call class constructors to create said tree. The generated LLVM code is fairly straight-forward and looks repeated sequences of: ; ... %11 = getelementptr [11 x i8*]* %Value_array1, i64 0, i64 1 %12 = call i8* @T_string_M_new_A_2Pv(i8* %heap, i8* getelementptr inbounds ([10 x i8]* @0, i64 0, i64 0)) %13 = call i8* @T_QueryLoc_M_new_A_2Pv4i(i8* %heap, i8* %12, i32 1, i32 1, i32 4, i32 5) %14 = call i8* @T_GlobalEnvironment_M_getItemFactory_A_Pv(i8* %heap) %15 = call i8* @T_xs_integer_M_new_A_Pvl(i8* %heap, i64 2) %16 = call i8* @T_ItemFactory_M_createInteger_A_3Pv(i8* %heap, i8* %14, i8* %15) %17 = call i8* @T_SingletonIterator_M_new_A_4Pv(i8* %heap, i8* %2, i8* %13, i8* %16) store i8* %17, i8** %11, align 8 ; ... Where each T_ function is a C "thunk" that calls some C++ constructor, e.g.: void* T_string_M_new_A_2Pv( void *v_value ) { string *const value = static_cast<string*>( v_value ); return new string( value ); } The thunks are necessary, of course, because LLVM knows nothing about C++. The T_ functions are added to the ExecutionEngine in use via ExecutionEngine::addGlobalMapping(). When this code is JIT'd, the performance of the JIT'ing itself is very poor. I've generated a call-graph using kcachegrind. I don't understand all the numbers (and this PDF seems not to include commas where it should), but if you look at the left fork, the bottom two ovals, Schedule... is called 16K times and setHeightToAtLeas... is called 37K times. On the right fork, RAGreed... is called 35K times. Those are far too many calls to anything for what's mostly a simple sequence of call LLVM instructions. Something seems horribly wrong. Any ideas on how to improve the performance of the JIT'ing?

  • PIC C - USB_CDC_GETC() and retrieving strings.

    - by Adam
    Hi all, I'm programming a PIC18F4455 Microcontroller using PIC C. I'm using the USB_CDC.h header file. I have a program on the computer sending a string such as "W250025". However, when I use usb_cdc_getc() to get the first char, it freezes. Sometimes the program sends only 'T', so I really want to just get the first character. Why does my code never execute past received=usb_cdc_getc(); when I send "W250025"? if (usb_cdc_kbhit()) { //printf(lcd_putc, "Check 3"); delay_ms(3000); printf(lcd_putc, "\f"); received = usb_cdc_getc(); printf(lcd_putc, "Received "); lcd_putc(received); delay_ms(3000); printf(lcd_putc, "\f"); if (received == 'W'){ //waveform disable_interrupts(INT_TIMER1); set_adc_channel(0); load_and_print_array(read_into_int(), read_into_int());} else if (received == 'T'){ //temperature set_adc_channel(1); enable_interrupts(INT_TIMER1);} }

  • How to invalidate cache when benchmarking?

    - by Michael Buen
    I have this code, that when swapping the order of UsingAs and UsingCast, their performance also swaps. using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Linq; using System.IO; class Test { const int Size = 30000000; static void Main() { object[] values = new MemoryStream[Size]; UsingAs(values); UsingCast(values); Console.ReadLine(); } static void UsingCast(object[] values) { Stopwatch sw = Stopwatch.StartNew(); int sum = 0; foreach (object o in values) { if (o is MemoryStream) { var m = (MemoryStream)o; sum += (int)m.Length; } } sw.Stop(); Console.WriteLine("Cast: {0} : {1}", sum, (long)sw.ElapsedMilliseconds); } static void UsingAs(object[] values) { Stopwatch sw = Stopwatch.StartNew(); int sum = 0; foreach (object o in values) { if (o is MemoryStream) { var m = o as MemoryStream; sum += (int)m.Length; } } sw.Stop(); Console.WriteLine("As: {0} : {1}", sum, (long)sw.ElapsedMilliseconds); } } Outputs: As: 0 : 322 Cast: 0 : 281 When doing this... UsingCast(values); UsingAs(values); ...Results to this: Cast: 0 : 322 As: 0 : 281 When doing just this... UsingAs(values); ...Results to this: As: 0 : 322 When doing just this: UsingCast(values); ...Results to this: Cast: 0 : 322 Aside from running them independently, how to invalidate the cache so the second code being benchmarked won't receive the cached memory of first code? Benchmarking aside, just loved the fact that modern processors do this caching magic :-)

  • Unity to dispose of object

    - by Johan Levin
    Is there a way to make Unit dispose property-injected objects as part of the Teardown? The background is that I am working on an application that uses ASP.NET MVC 2, Unity and WCF. We have written our own MVC controller factory that uses unity to instantiate the controller and WCF proxies are injected using the [Dependency] attribute on public properties of the controller. At the end of the page life cycle the ReleaseController method of the controller factory is called and we call IUnityContainer.Teardown(theMvcController). At that point the controller is disposed as expected but I also need to dispose the injected wcf-proxies. (Actually I need to call Close and/or Abort on them and not Dispose but that is a later problem.) I could of course override the controllers' Dispose methods and clean up the proxies there, but I don't want the controllers to have to know about the lifecycles of the injected interfaces or even that they refer to WCF proxies. If I need to write code myself for this - what would be the best extension point? I'd appreciate any pointer.

  • Do overlays work correctly in Emacs for Windows?

    - by Cheeso
    I'm using Flymake on C# code, emacs v22.2.1 on Windows. The Flymake stuff has been working well for me. For those who don't know, you can read an overview of flymake, but the quick story is that flymake repeatedly builds the source file you are currently working on in the background, for the purpose of doing syntax checking. It then highlights the compiler warnings and erros in the current buffer. Flymake didn't work for C# initially, but I "monkey-patched it" and it works nicely now. If you edit C# in emacs, I highly recommend using flymake. The only problem I have is with the UI. Flymake highlights the errors and warnings nicely, and then inserts "overlays" with the full error or warning text. IF I hover the mouse pointer over the highlighted line in code, the overlay pops up. But as you can see, the overlay is truncated, and it doesn't display correctly. Flymake seems to be doing the right thing, it's the overlay part that seems broken. Do overlays work correctly in emacs for Windows? Where do I look to fix this?

  • Java File IO Compendium

    - by Warren Taylor
    I've worked in and around Java for nigh on a decade, but have managed to ever avoid doing serious work with files. Mostly I've written database driven applications, but occasionally, even those require some file io. Since I do it so rarely, I end up googling around for quite some time to figure out the exact incantation that Java requires to read a file into a byte[], char[], String or whatever I need at the time. For a 'once and for all' list, I'd like to see all of the usual ways to get data from a file into Java, or vice versa. There will be a fair bit of overlap, but the point is to define all of the subtle different variants that are out there. For example: Read/Write a text file from/to a single String. Read a text file line by line. Read/Write a binary file from/to a single byte[]. Read a binary file into a byte[] of size x, one chunk at a time. The goal is to show concise ways to do each of these. Samples do not need to handle missing files or other errors, as that is generally domain specific. Feel free to suggest more IO tasks that are somewhat common and I have neglected to mention.

  • Creating and using a static lib in xcode (MacOSX)

    - by Alasdair Morrison
    I am trying to create a static library in xcode and link to that static library from another program. So as a test i have created a BSD static C library project and just added the following code: //Test.h int testFunction(); //Test.cpp #include "Test.h" int testFunction() { return 12; } This compiles fine and create a .a file (libTest.a). Now i want to use it in another program so I create a new xcode project (cocoa application) Have the following code: //main.cpp #include <iostream> #include "Testlib.h" int main (int argc, char * const argv[]) { // insert code here... std::cout << "Result:\n" <<testFunction(); return 0; } //Testlib.h extern int testFunction(); I right clicked on the project - add - existing framework - add other Selected the .a file and it added it into the project view. I always get this linker error: Build TestUselibrary of project TestUselibrary with configuration Debug Ld build/Debug/TestUselibrary normal x86_64 cd /Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary setenv MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET 10.6 /Developer/usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk -L/Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary/build/Debug -L/Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary/../Test/build/Debug -F/Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary/build/Debug -filelist /Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary/build/TestUselibrary.build/Debug/TestUselibrary.build/Objects-normal/x86_64/TestUselibrary.LinkFileList -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 -lTest -o /Users/myname/location/TestUselibrary/build/Debug/TestUselibrary Undefined symbols: "testFunction()", referenced from: _main in main.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I am new to macosx development and fairly new to c++. • Can you force a crash if a write occurs to a given memory location with finer than page granularity?

    - by Joseph Garvin
    I'm writing a program that for performance reasons uses shared memory (alternatives have been evaluated, and they are not fast enough for my task, so suggestions to not use it will be downvoted). In the shared memory region I am writing many structs of a fixed size. There is one program responsible for writing the structs into shared memory, and many clients that read from it. However, there is one member of each struct that clients need to write to (a reference count, which they will update atomically). All of the other members should be read only to the clients. Because clients need to change that one member, they can't map the shared memory region as read only. But they shouldn't be tinkering with the other members either, and since these programs are written in C++, memory corruption is possible. Ideally, it should be as difficult as possible for one client to crash another. I'm only worried about buggy clients, not malicious ones, so imperfect solutions are allowed. I can try to stop clients from overwriting by declaring the members in the header they use as const, but that won't prevent memory corruption (buffer overflows, bad casts, etc.) from overwriting. I can insert canaries, but then I have to constantly pay the cost of checking them. Instead of storing the reference count member directly, I could store a pointer to the actual data in a separate mapped write only page, while keeping the structs in read only mapped pages. This will work, the OS will force my application to crash if I try to write to the pointed to data, but indirect storage can be undesirable when trying to write lock free algorithms, because needing to follow another level of indirection can change whether something can be done atomically. Is there any way to mark smaller areas of memory such that writing them will cause your app to blow up? Some platforms have hardware watchpoints, and maybe I could activate one of those with inline assembly, but I'd be limited to only 4 at a time on 32-bit x86 and each one could only cover part of the struct because they're limited to 4 bytes. It'd also make my program painful to debug ;)

  • Nokogiri HttParty Xpath Ruby on Rails

    - by Brian
    I am working with a mmorpg (Eve Online) request that returns xml. I am using httparty for the request and I am trying to use nokogiri to obtain attribute values for a specific element. Here's an example of the response: <eveapi version="2"><currentTime>2012-10-19 22:41:56</currentTime><result><rowset name="transactions" key="refID" columns="date,refID,refTypeID,ownerName1,ownerID1,ownerName2,ownerID2,argName1,argID1,amount,balance,reason,taxReceiverID,taxAmount"><row date="2012-10-18 23:41:50" refID="232323" refTypeID="9" ownerName1="University of Caille" ownerID1="32232" ownerName2="name" ownerID2="34343" argName1="" argID1="0" amount="5000.00" balance="5000.00" reason="Starter fund" taxReceiverID="" taxAmount=""/></rowset></result><cachedUntil>2012-10-19 23:03:40</cachedUntil></eveapi> I only need to access attributes for the element "row" and there can be many rows returned. I have read about xpath and from what I understand if I do the following it should return all rows: doc.xpath('row') however it does not return anything. Here's what I have so far: options = {:keyID => 111111, :vCode => 'fddfdfdfdf'} response = HTTParty.post('https://api.eveonline.com/char/WalletJournal.xml.aspx', :body => options) doc = Nokogiri::XML(response.body) doc.xpath('row').each do |r| end The loop is never executed. What am I doing wrong? I need to return all row elements and gain access to each of the row's attributes. Thanks.

  • How do you update table row background color in IE using Javascript/CSS ?

    - by giulio
    I have a table that i want to "highlight" during onmouseover/onmouseout. I already know this is required in IE but not in other browsers. I have managed to detect the events triggering and this TR tag effectively works. (Note that the originating class "contentTableRow" doesn't seem to be causing any issues.) class="contentTableRow" onclick="openForm('SomeID');" onmouseover="highlight('someRowID', true);" onmouseout="highlight('someRowID', false);" id="someRowID" All is fine and dandy, the "highlight" function fires and actually sets the appropriate class. It's just that IE won't process the CSS class name change. Here is a snippet of the CSS I am using to make the change. .HighlightOn { cursor:pointer; background-color: #D1DFFF; } .HighlightOff { background-color: #E1EEFE; } I can see that the Class names are getting updated when I debug it, and also check it in Firebug. But it seems that IE doesn't like this usage of classes with a TR tag.. Is it the way I am structuring the class for Tables ? Any advice ?

  • Problem on "Finding cursor position" function

    - by sanceray3
    Hi all, Few days ago, I have found a solution to obtain the cursor position on a div with contentedit="true". I use the solution defined on this web site : Finding cursor position in a contenteditable div function getCursorPos() { var cursorPos; if (window.getSelection) { var selObj = window.getSelection(); var selRange = selObj.getRangeAt(0); cursorPos = findNode(selObj.anchorNode.parentNode.childNodes, selObj.anchorNode) + selObj.anchorOffset; /* FIXME the following works wrong in Opera when the document is longer than 32767 chars */ } else if (document.selection) { var range = document.selection.createRange(); var bookmark = range.getBookmark(); /* FIXME the following works wrong when the document is longer than 65535 chars */ cursorPos = bookmark.charCodeAt(2) - 11; /* Undocumented function [3] */ } return cursorPos; } function findNode(list, node) { for (var i = 0; i < list.length; i++) { if (list[i] == node) { return i; } } return -1; } It functions well, but when I use html tags inside the div the pointer doesnt show the correct position. For example if I try to find cursor position on the <strong>cat</strong> is black, the function doesn't return me the good position. But if I try on the cat is black, it functions. Any ideas how to get the position with html tags ? Thanks for your help.

  • How to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6?

    - by Zoran Simic
    Trying to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6 (mac mini server). But I'm missing the mysql headers apparently. Since mysql is already part of OS X Server 10.6, I would like to NOT install anything else (no fink or darwin ports installs), just whatever's needed to get DBD::mysql installed and working. Do you know how I could do that? Do I have to install the headers somewhere? And if so, where? (again: I don't want to install another version of mysql on the box, want to use the version it came with). Is there a way to install DBD::mysql without compiling any C files? This is the error I get (the actual error is much longer, but these are the most meaningful bits, this is the first error reported). Checking if your kit is complete... • What would be the safest way to store objects of classes derived from a common interface in a common

    - by Svenstaro
    I'd like to manage a bunch of objects of classes derived from a shared interface class in a common container. To illustrate the problem, let's say I'm building a game which will contain different actors. Let's call the interface IActor and derive Enemy and Civilian from it. Now, the idea is to have my game main loop be able to do this: // somewhere during init std::vector<IActor> ActorList; Enemy EvilGuy; Civilian CoolGuy; ActorList.push_back(EvilGuy); ActorList.push_back(CoolGuy); and // main loop while(!done) { BOOST_FOREACH(IActor CurrentActor, ActorList) { CurrentActor.Update(); CurrentActor.Draw(); } } ... or something along those lines. This example obviously won't work but that is pretty much the reason I'm asking here. I'd like to know: What would be the best, safest, highest-level way to manage those objects in a common heterogeneous container? I know about a variety of approaches (Boost::Any, void*, handler class with boost::shared_ptr, Boost.Pointer Container, dynamic_cast) but I can't decide which would be the way to go here. Also I'd like to emphasize that I want to stay away as far as possible from manual memory management or nested pointers. Help much appreciated :).

  • jQuery and XHTML layout problems in ie7

    - by abysslogic
    Hi there, I am back again with more layout problems on my up and coming website. I am able to achieve the proper animation, positioning and results with my layout / splash on every modern browser (excluding ie7 or older). I have an image in the center of the page, that is text-align: center'd, and pushed to a vertical center by having a div (#SPLASH_HEAD) set to 50% on the top half of the page. The loading animation changes the height of #SPLASH_HEAD to 0px, to drag the image to the top (and then do other things). In ie7 (or compatability mode), it appears that there is an error in jquery-1.4.2.min.js, line 116 char 165 (which I dont think has anything to do with the actual jQuery file itself). The splash is not centered either vertically (#SPLASH_HEAD does not register at 50% of window height) and is not centered properly with margin-left. Also, none of the other elements are hidden properly (with .hide()) as ie7 does not appear to be loading all of my jQuery / javascript. heres a link: www.voidsync.com/test (it would be easier to view the source on there) thanks!
