    I'm just beginner to linux operating system I have following doubts 1.Now i am using ubuntu 10.10 version i dont have net connection in my home So how can i install packages manually for ex: if me and my friend have same version and same hardware config if he installed installed all packages in his laptop can i install all his packages by copy packages from his lap to mine ?? if there is a way then how to do it??     I'm looking for some material that can explain all the concepts related to OOP that doesn't deviate too much from the point. I want something short and understandable for a beginner. I know some of these can be found on wikipedia, but wikipedia is full of minor and sometimes big mistakes and I don't think that is the best choice for learning something. Where should I start ? Also, please don't recommend books of 1000 pages or such.

What is bewildering to me is the sheer amount of various choices in "Java environment" - Ivy, Maven, Ant, JAXB, Glassfish, JBoss, Struts, Spring are just some of the names that I keep seeing. I am looking for "who is who" and "who works together" beginner's guide. Is there such a book? Something similar?

    I have recently started learning javascript and html and have developed simple 2 player games such as tick-tack-toe, battleship, and dots&boxes. However these 2 player games can only be played on one computer (i.e. the 2 players must sit together) However, I want to modify this so that one can play with a friend on a different computer. Can anyone explain me the underlying principle behind this method? EDIT: I know that in Sieve of Eratosthenes, we find all primes upto the square root of given number and cross out all multiples of them till the given number. Python definitely has more resources around town and I like the beginner friendly approach that seems to go along with every site that appeals to it.
