It is like that: retour.append("<input type=\"hidden\" id=\"id_" + nomTab + "_" + compteur + "\" value=\"" + object.getIdDailyTimeSheet() + "\"/>"); retour.append("<button id=edit name=edit type=submit onClick= editarow()>"); retour.append("<img src=edit.gif />"); retour.append("</button>"); retour.append("</td>"); But the method get parameter recommend a name to be able to get the value here. So how can I deal with it? Here I want to pass to the servlet the value of object.getIdDailyTimeSheet().

  • css background Outlook 2007

    - by user112976
    Hi, I creating a program which send newsletter with a background image. It works fine on Office 2000-2003, thunderbird, but the background image does not show on Outlook 2007. I read that Microsoft changed the rendering engine and did not support the background css property (it is possible but only applied to the Body). Is it achievable to create an email which will render like that : http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?a7905f7d16.png on Outlook 2007 ? What is the solution ? Thank you for your help.

  • undefined offset error in php

    - by user225269
    I don't know why but the code below is working when I have a different query: $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM student WHERE IDNO='".$_GET['id']."'") ?> <?php while ( $row = mysql_fetch_array($result) ) { ?> <?php list($year,$month,$day)=explode("-", $row['BIRTHDAY']); ?> <tr> <td width="30" height="35"><font size="2">Month:</td> <td width="30"><input name="mm" type="text" id="mm" onkeypress="return handleEnter(this, event)" value="<?php echo $month;?>"> <td width="30" height="35"><font size="2">Day:</td> <td width="30"><input name="dd" type="text" id="dd" maxlength="25" onkeypress="return handleEnter(this, event)" value="<?php echo $day;?>"> <td width="30" height="35"><font size="2">Year:</td> <td width="30"><input name="yyyy" type="text" id="yyyy" maxlength="25" onkeypress="return handleEnter(this, event)" value="<?php echo $year;?>"> And it works when this is my query: $idnum = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['idnum']); mysql_select_db("school", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM student WHERE IDNO='$idnum'"); Please help, why do I get the undefined offset error when I use this query: $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM student WHERE IDNO='".$_GET['id']."'") I assume that the query is the problem because its the only thing that's different between the two.

  • How to style just one type of input field without also affecting other input types with CSS

    - by James
    Is there a way to write style rules that will only influence text fields. Suppose I have the following: <div id="helloDiv"> <input type="text" name="something" /><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="somethingElse" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="go" /> </div> div#helloDiv input { border: 1px solid red; } The problem with the above CSS rule is that it will affect ALL input fields not just input text but also radio buttons, submit buttons, etc. So is there a cross browser solution to affect just one type of input field within a div or other page element (without resorting to assigning the input fields styles individually).

  • Selecting pictures from database

    - by user1691618
    Okay guys, I need some help. I'm trying to design a page where a user can ask a question and upload up to 4 pictures. I have 2 database tables, questions and image_table. I have everything uploading correctly, so that's not my problem. What I am having trouble doing is selecting images from the image_table database that only correspond to that question. I can't figure out how to do this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

  • How to scroll whole visible page down to an anchor with a smooth effect (Scriptaculous or jQuery)?

    - by ChrisBenyamin
    Hey community, I want to create an navigation with anchors. By clicking on a navigation link, the whole visible page should scroll down to the clicked anchor. The most important is the following structure of the page. --------------- (Begin visible browser area) NAV1 nav2 nav3 content --------------- (Begin/end visible browser area) nav1 NAV2 nav3 content --------------- (Begin/end visible browser area) nav1 nav2 NAV3 content --------------- (end visible browser area) Finally all content is in a single document and the height of the current page (selected by the nav-item) has to be calculated (with a JS Library). I prefer PrototypeJS/Scriptaculous and jQuery. The scroll effect should be a smooth slide/ effect. Chris

  • Changing a link-style, only for a certain class

    - by abelenky
    I want to change the link-style for some of my links, like this: a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } However, I only want this to take effect in my Navigation Bar, and not for regular links. I have tried variations on this: #navbar a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } With the intended meaning "this only applies to links with <div id="navbar">" But it didn't work. How can I set the style for only certain links, defined by the class or id of their container?

  • How does one validate an entire site?

    - by American Yak
    I realize there's the W3C validator, which works great for one page. There's also the perl install they provide, but it seems to not work on a Mac or it's buggy. Given that 1) I have an entire set of local files How do I a) Validate the entire set b) do it behind a firewall c) do it simply without installing anything on my computer? (i.e., is there a web service?) Or is this just futile?

  • Designing a different kind of tag cloud.

    - by animuson
    Rather than having a bunch of links that are all different sizes, I want all of my tags to be the same size. However, my goal is to minimize the amount of space required to make the cloud, aka minimizing the number of lines used. Take this example: Looks like any normal tag cloud. However, look at all that extra space around the 'roughdiamond' tag, which could be filled in by other tags like 'stone' down near the bottom, which could effectively eliminate an entire extra line from the cloud. How would I go about getting the words to fill in whatever space possible above them before starting a new line? I'm not talking about reorganizing them to find the absolute minimum number of lines required. If I was going through the list in the image, 'pendant', 'howlite', and 'igrice' would go to line 1 filling it up, 'roughdiamond' would go to line 2 because line 1 is full, 'tourmaline' would go to line 3 because it can't fit on lines 1 or 2, same with 'emberald', but 'pearl' would go to line 2 because it can fit there since there is extra space. I figure there would probably be some way of doing this in CSS that would simply cause the links to collapse into any fillable space it can fit in to.

  • Ideas on limiting content to single printed page?

    - by James Skidmore
    I have 5-6 text areas that users fill out in a template (a couple of columns, basically a newsletter format). I'm needing to limit their content to one printed page, but I'm having a hard time coming up with practical solutions. The printed format (margin, font size, etc.) will be the same for all users, as it's printed from a central source. I've had a couple of ideas, but all of them seem rather unreliable and difficult to implement: Determine height of content using JavaScript and estimate the number of printed pages from that. The problem with this is that browser font sizes can vary, it's only a rough estimate (pixels to inches), etc. Limit the number of characters. This is problematic because there are various text fields, certain characters (like M) take up more space than others (like I), and line breaks obviously count for much more. What ideas do you all have? I appreciate your help!

  • unobtrusive "default" text in input WITHOUT jQuery

    - by Adam Kiss
    Hello, i'm trying to write unobtrusive default/placeholder text in input (actually, relatively placed label over input, which hides on onFocus, and stays hidden if input isn't empty on onBlur), but I don't want to use jQuery, because this is the only javascript used on page - therefore using jQuery seems a bit over the top. Please, how can I do this without jQuery? Thank you.

    what i'm aiming is to show the other div when it selects one of the two options Full time and Part Time and if possible compute a different value for each When the user selects Part time the value of PrcA will change to PrcB this is the code i used <!====================================================================================> <script language="javascript"> <!--// function dm(amount) { string = "" + amount; dec = string.length - string.indexOf('.'); if (string.indexOf('.') == -1) return string + '.00'; if (dec == 1) return string + '00'; if (dec == 2) return string + '0'; if (dec > 3) return string.substring(0,string.length-dec+3); return string; } function calculate() { QtyA = 0; TotA = 0; PrcA = 1280; PrcB = 640; if (document.form1.qtyA.value > "") { QtyA = document.form1.qtyA.value }; document.form1.qtyA.value = eval(QtyA); TotA = QtyA * PrcA; document.form1.totalA.value = dm(eval(TotA)); Totamt = eval(TotA) ; document.form1.GrandTotal.value = dm(eval(Totamt)); } //--> </script> <!====================================================================================> <p> <label for="acct" style="margin-right:90px;"><strong>Account Type<strong><font color=red size=3> * </font></strong></label> <select name="acct" style="background-color:white;" class="validate[custom[serv]] select-input" id="acct" value=""> <option value="Full Time">Full-Time</option> <option value="Part Time">Part-Time</option> <option selected="selected" value=""></option> </select></p> <!====================================================================================> <script> $(document).ready(function() { $("input[name$='acct']").select(function() { var test = $(this).val(); $("div.desc").hide(); $("#acct" + test).show(); }); }); </script> <!====================================================================================> <p> <table><tr><td> <lable style="margin-right:91px;"># of Agent(s)<font color=red size=3> * </font></lable> </td><td> <input style="width:25px; margin-left:5px;" type="text" class="validate[custom[agnt]] text-input" name="qtyA" id="qtyA" onchange="calculate()" /> </td><td> <div id="acctFull Time" class="desc"> x 1280 = </div> <div id="acctPart Time" class="desc" style="display:none"> x 640 = </div> </td><td> $<input style="width:80px; margin-left:5px;" type="text" readonly="readonly" name="totalA" id="totalA" onchange="calculate()" /> </p> </td></tr></table> is there any way for me to achieve this?

  • class selector refuses after append to body

    - by supersize
    I'm appending loads of divs in a wrapper: var cubes = [], allCubes = '', for(var i = 0; i < 380; i++) { var randomleft = Math.floor(Math.random()*Math.floor(Math.random()*1000)), randomtop = Math.floor(Math.random()*Math.floor(Math.random()*1000)); allCubes += '<div id="cube'+i+'" class="cube" style="position: absolute; border: 2px #000 solid; left: '+randomleft+'px; top: '+randomtop+'px; width: 9px; height: 9px; z-index: -1"></div>'; } $('#wrapper').append(allCubes); // performance for(var i = 0; i < 380; i++) { cubes.push($('#cube'+i)); } and then I would like to make them all draggable with jQueryUI and log their current position. var allc = $('.cube'); allc.draggable().on('mouseup', function(i) { allc.each(function() { var nleft = $(this).offset().left; var ntop = $(this).offset().top; console.log('cubes['+i+'].animate({ left:'+nleft+',top:'+ntop+'})'); }); }); Unfortunenately it does not work. They are neither draggable nor there comes up a log. Thanks

  • How do you make a wrapped div fill the window horizontally?

    - by Alex Parkinson
    I have a div which is contained by another 960px-wide centered div. I'm adding a background to the inner div which should expand all the way to the window's edges horizontally, essentially escaping the boundaries of its container. If I apply a large negative margin and equal amount of padding, this works on the left side, but the right side causes a scroll bar to appear. Does anyone know how I can achieve this without causing scroll bars?

  • How best to make a link submit a form.

    - by nickf
    What's the best way to get a regular anchor (<a href="...">) to submit the form it is embedded in when clicked? <form> <ul> <li> <p> The link could be <span>embedded <a href="" onclick="?">at any level</a></span> in the form, so "this.parentNode.parentNode..." is no good. :( </p> </li> </ul> </form> I know that the easiest way using jQuery would be $('#myLink').click(function() { $(this).parents('form:first').submit(); }); ...but I'm trying to find a way to do this without using a library. Edit: I'm really trying to find a method which doesn't require knowledge of the form (eg: its name, id, etc). This would be similar to how you could put this on an input element: <input onclick="this.form.submit()" />
