  Basically I'm looking for something to give me easy access to information like useragentstring.com, but in JS, without me parsing the user agent and looking for each possible bit of text. The object could be something like this: browser = UserAgent.Browser; // Chrome browserVer = UserAgent.BrowserVersion; // 5.0.342.9 os = UserAgent.OperatingSystem; // Windows NT osVer = UserAgent.OperatingSystemVersion; // 6.1 layoutEng = UserAgent.LayoutEngine; // WebKit layoutEngVer = UserAgent.LayoutEngineVersion; // 533.2 Does something similar to that exist or do I have to write one myself? Writing yet another user agent parser doesn't seem that easy with all those impersonations going back to the dark ages of the web. Specifically I'm looking for something that doesn't just split the user agent into parts and give them to me, because that's as useless as the user agent itself; instead it should parse the user agent and recognize the engine, browser, OS, etc. and return the concrete parts only, as in the example.

• Using WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application doesn't show me any information

  I am trying to use WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application (I have the latest WPFPerf that should work on WPF 4.0 aps). I start the tool Visual Profiler from WPFPerf, I start my aplication, but after that nothing happens and the element tree from the Visual Profiler is empty. No other error message is shown. Can anyone tell me what am I not doint right? As an additional information, when I try to analize my .exe assembly or any other assembly from my application, I get a BadFormatException saying that the assembly was build with a newer version of .NET. From the download page http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=191420 I see that this version of WPFPerf should be ok for my app

  I'm trying to figure out a way to extract the information encoded in ttf files. namely: The char-to-glyph table and the individual glyph path data. Does anyone have a good reference explaining the ttf file structure, or some other solution? Keep in mind that I'm not interested in any libraries that can do it for me either (unless they are open source and I can see how they are doing it). • How can I update information in an Android Activity from a background Service

  Hello, I am trying to create a simple Android application that has a ActivityList of information, when the application starts, I plan to start a Service that will be constantly calculating the data (it will be changing) and I want the ActivityList to be in sync with the data that the service is calculating for the life of the app. How can I set up my Activity to be listening to the Service? Is this the best way to approach this problem? For example, if you imagine a list of stock prices - the data would be being changed regularly and need to be in sync with the (in my case) Service that is calculating/fetching the data constantly. In general we use biometrics in computer applications say for authentication. Lets get 2 examples finger prints and facial recognition. In those cases how we keep the information for comparison. As an example we can't keep a image and process it every time. So what are the methodologies we use to store/determine the similarity in such cases? Are there any special algorithms that designed for that purposes.? (Ex : To return a approximately equal value for a finger print of a certain person every time)

• PHP Curl's Proxy feature causes no information to be returned

  I'm working on a PHP script right now which sends requests to our school's servers to get real-time information about class sizes for different courses. The script runs perfectly fine when I don't use a proxy, returning a string full of course numbers and available seats. However, I want to make this a service for the students, and I'm afraid that if I make too many requests my ip will get blocked. So I'm attempting to do this through a proxy, with no success. As soon as I add the CURLOPT_HTTPPROXYTUNNEL and CURLOPT_PROXY fields to my requests nothing gets returned. I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot it at this point since I'm not getting an error message of any kind. Does anyone know what's going on or how to at least troubleshoot it?

  I am attempting to parse WSDL, along the lines of the example given here. The author notes, in the comments, that the example is not capable of drilling down into complex data types. And in fact, when I run the example, it does not appear to even handle simple data types. I have poked around in System.Web.Services.Description.ServiceDescription class, which is used in the example, but cannot find any actual parameter or return type information at run-time. I gather that I may need to do some manual parsing of an xsd file? Both google and stackoverflow appear to lack a complete example of how to drill down into complex types programmatically, so... how should I do this?

  A friend of mine claims that calls to Debug.Print() as well as first-chance exception notifications appear in the Immediate Window for him. I found this surprising; for me they only appear in the Output Window. MSDN claims (here) that you can implicitly enable them in the Immediate Window by explicitly disabling them in the Output Window. But that doesn't work for me; the messages are not shown in either window if I disable this. The Immediate Window remains empty. How do I get the Immediate Window to display this information?

  My Visual C++ application is compiled with /EHA option, letting me catch structured exceptions (division by zero, access violation, etc). I then translate those exceptions to my own exception class using _set_se_translator(). My goal is to improve our logging of those types of exceptions. I can get the type of exception from the EXCEPTION_RECORD structure, and the exception address. I would like to be able to gather more information, like the source file/location where the exception is thrown, the call stack, etc. Is that possible? I do create an exception minidump on structured exceptions - is there a tool to automatically get the call stack from that?

  In my code, I use JavaScript for UI and PHP for back end. I also use PHP to store application settings and sometimes my UI code needs to access this information. My configuration file looks something like this (config.php): $resolution_x = 1920; $resolution_y = 1080; etc... When I need to access any of these settings form JavaScript, i simply use <?php echo ... ?> to substitute the value directly, but it just doesn't strike me as very robust. Are they any dangers of doing this that I am not aware of? Is there a better way of doing this? Thank you,

  Hello, I am learning Python by building a simple PyGTK application that fetches data from some SVN repositories, using pysvn. The pysvn Client has a callback you can specify that it calls when Subversion needs authentication information for a repository. When that happens, I would like to open a dialog to ask the user for the credentials. The problem is, it seems the callback is called inside the GTK main loop, so it's basically called on every tick. Is there a way to prevent this? Perhaps by opening the dialog in a new thread? But then how do I return the tuple with the user data to the callback so it can return it to the pysvn.Client?

  Can anyone tell me how to get track information from the MusicBrainz database from an audio file (mp3, wav, wma, ogg, etc...) using audio fingerprinting. I'm using MusicBrainz Sharp library, but any other library is ok. I've seen that you must use the libofa library, that you can't use MusicBrainz Sharp to get puid from the audio file, but I can't figure out how to use libofa with C#. Please show some examples and code snippets to help me, because I can't find them anywhere. Thanks in advance!
