The UI part works great--toggles the image used for the button, and I can see from other stuff that the thisEvent.isFavorite BOOL is toggling happily. I can also see in the debugger that I'm getting my DataManager singleton.   • Codeigniter: user defined helper function does not load.

    Hi everybody. I made a custom helper extending the system string_helper.php. I placed it in my /application/helpers folder, called MY_string_helper.php as required, unit-tested its functions. Now, when I try to call one of its functions from a model, it does not work. The functions in the default string helper work, instead. It looks like my extension is not loaded for some reasons.   • Help getting the following create table function to work with mysql and C#

No errors either. Im using an ODBC connector. the variable passes in the db name, so that the table created would be users_TimeLogs if the database was called users for example. Am I doing something wrong?

    I am having some issues with code that is returning a pointer to a struct declared inside a class. I am using Microsoft Visual Studio and the compiler tells me that "Listnode" is unidentified. Yet I want to go a step further and be able to know if L2, or L3 executed the most. here it is obvious that L3 executed the most. yet is there some kind of profiler, emulator that can give me that data for an entire code?

    Is there a commonly accepted terminology for various types for common functors? For instance I found myself naturally using comparitor for comparison functors like this: struct ciLessLibC : public std::binary_function<std::string, std::string, bool> { bool operator()(const std::string &lhs, const std::string &rhs) const { return strcasecmp(lhs.c_str(), rhs.c_str()) < 0 ? 1 : 0; } }; Or using the term deltor for something like this: struct DeleteAddrInfo { void operator()(const addr_map_t::value_type &pr) const { freeaddrinfo(pr.second); } }; If using these kinds of shorthand terms is common, it there some dictionary of them all someplace?

  • Android AudioRecorder object wont read from microphone.

    I'm trying to build a voip application on a new android device, i use AudioRecorder to read the microphone but I'm getting no valid results, just white noise. This happen only on this new device(other work well) and this is probably because this device has PTT ability. The service layer is unaware of the clients that utilitize its methods. Is it fine to propagate raw http requests into the service layer? Or is it bad practice and a violation of the loose coupling principles? If it is, then what's a clean workaround?

    It's been a few years since I've been heavily into Java. Coming back to it I'm seeing this pattern all over the place: ratingBar.setOnRatingBarChangeListener(new OnRatingBarChangeListener() { public void onRatingChanged(RatingBar ratingBar, float rating, boolean fromUser) { // do work } }); This looks more like Functional programming to me. It's a nice pattern but how is it possible to pass a method like this? In the old days a class was a class, and once compiled there was little you could do to it. My questions are: Can anyone let me know what this pattern is called? How can I write a class that can be instantiated in this way. Are there any other useful examples of functional patterns that have made their way into Java? What do I need to Google to read more about this? Thanks.

    Model Item belongs_to User. In my controller I have code like this: @items = Item.find(:all) I need to have a corresponding User models for each item in my View templates. it works in controller(but not in View template): @items.each { |item| item.user } But manual looping just to build associations for View template kinda smells. How can I do this not in a creepy way?
