    Hi, I'm building a conditions hash to run a query but I'm having a problem with one specific case: conditions2 = ['extract(year from signature_date) = ?', params[:year].to_i] unless params[:year].blank? conditions[:country_id] = COUNTRIES.select{|c| c.geography_id == params[:geographies]} unless params[:geographies].blank? conditions[:category_id] = CATEGORY_CHILDREN[params[:categories].to_i] unless params[:categories].blank? conditions[:country_id] = params[:countries] unless params[:countries].blank? conditions['extract(year from signature_date)'] = params[:year].to_i unless params[:year].blank? But the last line breaks everything, as it gets interpreted as follows: AND ("negotiations"."extract(year from signature_date)" = 2010 Is there a way to avoid that "negotiations"." is prepended to my condition? thank you, P.

  • boost variant static_visitor problem picking correct function

    I'm sure I'm having a problem with template resolution here, but I'm not sure why I'm having the problem. I have a static visitor I'm passing to boost variant where i've had to do template specialization for certain cases. The case for everything except for MyClass should throw in the static_visitor below. Unfortunately, when the visitor is applied to pull a MyClass out, it selects the most generic case rather than the exact match. I would type each case explicitly, but that will be rather long. So, why is the compiler resolving the most generic case over the exact match, and is there anyway to fix it template<> class CastVisitor<MyClass>:public boost::static_visitor<MyClass> { public: template<typename U> MyClass operator()(const U & i) const { throw std::exception("Unable to cast"); } MyClass operator()(const MyClass& i) { return i; } };

    I've prepared this simple example which is not working for me #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> FILE *fp; char filename[] = "damy.txt"; void echo (char[] text) { fp = fopen(filename, "a"); fwrite(text, 1, strlen(text), fp); fclose(fp); printf(text); } int main () { echo("foo bar"); return 0; } It's supposed to write both to command window and to file. However, this gives compilation error - the text used in echo() is not declared. Does c need another declaration of the variable?

    I have defined a class named MyClass and I have defined two methods myMethod1 and myMethod2 for it: function MyClass() {} MyClass.prototype.myMethod1 = function() {...}; MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() {...}; Inside myMethod1, I use jQuery and there's a callback closure defined there: MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() { $.jQuery({success: function(data) { this.myMethod2(); }, ...}); } Now the problem is that this no longer is referring to MyClass. The question is how can I refer to it? At the moment I have assigned it to a variable named thisObj and access it this way: MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() { var thisObj = this; $.jQuery({success: function(data) { thisObj.myMethod2(); }, ...}); } Is there a better way to access MyClass.this from the closure nested in myMethod2?   • Expected symbol problems with this function declaration

    I am just getting back into the C programming realm and I am having an issue that I think is linker related. I am using cmake for the first time as well, so that could be adding to my frustration. I have included a third party header file that contains a typedef that my code is trying to use, and it has this line: typedef struct a a_t so my code has a_t *var; //later..... var->member;// this line throws the error which throws the error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type So am I just missing another include file, or is this a linker issue? I am building this code in QtCreator and using cmake. I can dive on a_t to see that typedef declaration in the included header, but I can't seem to dive on "struct a" itself to see where it's coming from. Thanks

    Suppose I have two lists that holds the list of source file names and destination file names respectively. The Sourcefilenamelist has files as 1.txt, 2.txt,3.txt, 4.txt while the Destinaitonlist has 1.txt,2.txt. I ned to write a linq query to find out which files are in SourceList that are absent in DestinationFile list. e.g. here the out put will be 3.txt and 4.txt. I have done this by a foreach statement.. but now I want to do the same by using LINQ(C#). Help needed. Thanks

  • Object model design choice

    I am currently working on a ASP.NET MVC reporting application using C#. This is a redesign from a PHP application that was just initially thrown together and is now starting to gain some more traction. SowWe are in the process of reworking the backend to have a more OO approach. One of the descisions I am currently wrestling with is how to structure the domain objects. Since 95% of the site is readonly I am not sure if the typical approaches are practical. Should I create domain objects for the primary pieces of the application (ticket, assignment, assignee) and then create static methods off of these areas to pull the reporting data? Or should I just skip that part and create the chart data classes and have some get method off of these classes? It's not a real big application and currenlty I am the only one developing on it. But I feel torn as to which approach. I feel that the first one is the better choice but maybe overkill given that the majority of uses is for aggregate reporting. Anybody have some good insight on why I should go one way or another?

If I use delete afterwards, will default destructor ~ChartLine() properly dealocate (or clear) member ChartLine::line(which is vector btw) or I would have to clear that vector in ~ChartLine() manually?     I have a class that represents undirected edges in a graph. Every edge has two members vertex1 and vertex2 representing the vertices it connects. The problem is, that an edge can be specified two directions. My idea was now to define the hash of an edge as the sum of the hashes of its vertices. This way, the direction plays no role anymore, the hash would be the same. Are there any pitfalls with that?
