    I am producing a javascript-based widget. Nothing complex just a few document.writes... When I place it inline in the page it renders fine in all browsers. When I place it externally and load it via it fails to render in Firefox and IE but not Chrome. Anyone know why and a possible workaround?

    I'm using VWD Express 2008 to develop a WPF Browser Application. When I start debugging, it launches the XBAP in my default browser, which is Opera. Obviously, XBAPs don't work in Opera, so I have to repeatedly right-click on the document to open in IE. Is there any way to change the settings for PresentationHost.exe so that it always opens with IE? A registry setting, perhaps?

  • Multiple infowindows - tearing my hair out

    Ok, I'll admit I'm nowhere near the best programmer on the planet - and I'm used to the answer staring me right in the face but not making sense of it. Problem I need to display multiple markers on a map, each with their own infowindow. I have created the individual markers without a problem, but don't know how to create the infowindows for each. Steps so far I am generating a map using the V3 API within an ASP-based website, with markers being created from a set of DB records. The markers are created by looping through a rs and defining a marker() with the relevant variables: var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(lat,long); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ map: map, position: myLatlng, title: 'locationname', icon: 'http://google-maps-icons.googlecode.com/files/park.png' }); This is creating all the relevant markers in their correct locations. What I need to do now, and am not sure of how to achieve is give each of them their own unique infowindow which I can use to display information and links relevant to that marker.   • Best approach to write huge xml data to file?

I'm currently exporting a database table with huge data (100000+ records) into an xml file using XmlTextWriter class and I'm writing directly to a file on the physical drive. _XmlTextWriterObject = new XmlTextWriter(_xmlFilePath, null); While my code runs ok, my question is that is it the best approach? Or should I write the whole xml in memory stream first and then write the xml document in physical file from memory stream? And what are the effects on memory/ performance in both cases?

    Hi, I am trying to figure out certain memory leak conditions in javascript on a few browsers. Currently I'm only testing FF 3.6, Opera 10.10, and Safari 4.0.3. I've started with a fairly simple test, and can confirm no memory leaks in Firefox and Safari. But Opera just takes memory and never gives it back. What gives? No luck. As you can see this is simple JS, no circular DOM links, no closures. I monitor the memory usage using 'top' on Mac 10.4.11. Memory usage spikes up on page load, as expected. In FF and Safari reloading the page does not use any further memory, and all memory is returned when the window (tab) is closed. In Opera, memory spikes on load, and seems to also spike further on each reload (but not always...). But regardless of reload, memory never goes back down below the initial load spike. I had hoped this was a no-brainer test that all browsers would pass, so I could move on to more "interesting" conditions. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a known Opera issue?     Any ideas for an universal notification service like Adobe Wave? I need to send status updates (more specifically, things like document change notifications and the like). I could stick to RSS but then I will need either long URLs or HTTP authentications on feeds which not all the clients like. Adobe Wave looked promising but they are only desktop, in BETA, without active development, and seem a bit buggy sometimes. Any other ideas?

  • Geshi on WebSVN makes my code files appear blank

    In config.php, if i uncomment the following line $config->useGehsi(); Suddenly, when I load up a C# file, instead of showing the document, it's just a blank page. As soon as I comment out the code above, I'm able to see my C# file, but there's no syntax highlighting. Anyone have a solution to get GeSHi working with WebSVN when this kind of error occurs?
