• Upgrading website from VS2005(2.0 Framework) to VS2008(2.0 Framework)

  We have a website that is created in VS2005 Recently we upgraded the website to VS2008 with 2.0 framework. While compiling the website Compilation errors are occuring i.e Licenses.licx file is not compiling, if it compile than it will reproduces an AppLicenses.dll. In the licensing.licx file containing one class and a namespace(i.e. OSADirectLicensing.OSADirectLicensedClass, OSADirectLicensing). The compilation error is as follows: Error 1 C:\Program Files\Sharp\Sharp Developer Tools\OSA SDK\Samples\DirectOSA\ExternalAuthority\licenses.licx: Could not transform licenses file into a binary resource. (1) : error LC0004 : Exception occurred creating type 'OSADirectLicensing.OSADirectLicensedClass, OSADirectLicensing, Version=1.0.4006.31768, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: Invalid License at System.ComponentModel.LicenseManager.CreateWithContext(Type type, LicenseContext creationContext, Object[] args) at System.ComponentModel.LicenseManager.CreateWithContext(Type type, LicenseContext creationContext) at System.Tools.LicenseCompiler.GenerateLicenses(String fileContents, String targetPE, ITypeResolutionService resolver, DesigntimeLicenseContext ctx)' . Does VS2008 support licenses.licx or not? We should not remove this file from website. How can we solve this issue?

  I am trying to create a Soap Web Service Client using the Visual C# 2008 Express IDE. I Do that by Right-Clicking Project Name-Add service Reference. Everything is working out fine, and the client is being generated as follows [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute("operationInfo", RequestElementName="mainInfoTag", RequestNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", ResponseElementName="Answer", ResponseNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", Use=System.Web.Services.Description.SoapBindingUse.Literal, ParameterStyle=System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped)] [return: System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("somenewID")] public string storeWarrantyInformation(tagBelowMainInfoTag tag, out string somenewID, out string someotherID) As you can see, the method is marked with SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped, what this is does is that it does not create a class corresponding "mainInfoTag". The Questions I have is what determines the Client SoapParameterStyle in the proxy class. I would like to get SoapParamterStyle as Bare, so that I have access to the root XML element. Is there some setting I can specify in the IDE or through 'wsdl.exe' to make this happen.

• ASP.Net MVC 2 / EF 4 Reference Issue

  My ASP.Net MVC 2 project references a Domain project where POCO business objects are defined and a Data project where EF 4 POCO persistence is implemented. Things were running well until I had a little fussiness with my version control provider (rollback to previous version left me with merge conflicts). Now, upon launching the MVC 2 project, I get a runtime error: The type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.IEntityWithKey' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. However, every project references System.Data.Entity (same version). If I remove the reference to System.Data.Entity from the MVC 2 project, I get the same message as a compile-time error. I'm pretty sure something got messed up when I had the version control issue, but really not sure where to look for this one.

• Implement a WebDAV server in C#?

  We've got a CMS system written in .NET C#. This system has editing facilities for templates (essentially HTML files) and various other support files such as CSS and javascript files. These "files" are not really files, but database records and they are edited using plain old textareas within the CMS system. To make editing these "files" easier, on idea was to implement WebDAV support in the CMS system for these files, so users could use some WebDAV client software to connect to the CMS and then open these in VS 2008 for example. Firstly, is this a feasible idea? Secondly, if so ... where do start? Any good articles out there about implementing a WebDAV server in C# to provide access to either physical documents or "pseudo" documents which are in reality just records in a database? Any input appreciated ....

• Java threads not working correctly with linkedlist

  Hi I am working on the sleeping barber problem. with the addition of having priority customer when they arrive they go in the front of the line and they are the next ones to get a haircut. • PHP package manager

  Hey, does anyone know a package manager library for PHP (as e.g. apt or yum for linux distros) apart from PEAR? I'm working on a system which should include a package management system for module management. I managed to get a working solution using PEAR, but using the PEAR client for anything else than managing a PEAR installation is not really the optimal solution as it's not designed for that. I would have to modify/extend it (e.g. to implement actions on installation/upgrade or to move PEAR specific files like lockfiles away from the system root) and especially the CLI client code is quite messy and PHP4. So maybe someone has some suggestions for an alternative PEAR client library which is easy to use and extend (the server side has some nice implementations like Pirum and pearhub) for completely different package management systems written in PHP (ideally including dependency tracking and different channels) for some general ideas how to implement such a PM system (yes, I'm still tinkering with the idea of implementing such a system from scratch) I know that big systems like Magento and symfony use PEAR for their PM. Magento uses a hacked version of the original PEAR client (which I'd like to avoid), symfony's implementation seems quite integrated with the framework, but would be a good starting point to at least write the client from scratch. Anyway, if anybody has suggestions: please :)

  Hi all, I'd like to add my custom control into a template column of data grid. The custom control is very similar to a text box, but has an icon in it. The user can click the icon, and selects an item from a prompted window, then the selected item will be filled into the text box. My problem is when the text box is filled, after I click the second column, the text will disappear. If I replace the custom control with a simple text box, the result is the same.   How can I change the default UI language when installing a patch/update? The problem is that the patch takes the initial language in which the setup to be patched was installed and not the current system language (defined in Reginal Settings/Advanced Options). I wonder if there is a property or switch that I can pass to a msp file to change its UI language. Example: I created 'setup_v00.exe' (english and french) and a patch 'update_v00_v01.exe' (english and french); with system language = english, 'setup_v00.exe' installs in english; change system language in french; with system language = french, 'update_v00_v01.exe' still installs in english but I want it to install with a french interface;

  Hello I have a question for a c programmer out there, we have a tast at school to create a soft real time system in an operation system made by our teacher. Well that is all fine and dandy, we have chosen to create a system that calcuate how many unites of medicine a diabetic need based on his or hers blood sugar. It does not need to be correct just that we have the idea of a real time system :D But we have hit a little snag our formula for calculating the units of medicine is [blood sugar] * 1.2 But the only way we can send messages between processes is via a structure that contains 8 longs, but here is where my knowledge of c ends, we need for some way to split this double into 2 longs, example: the whole number in long 0 and the decimals in long 1 and then assemble it on the other side. But I have no idea who to do this, and therefore need a little help. We have tried but we do not have access to c standard libraries

• What could cause xmlrpclib.ResponseError: ResponseError() ?

  Hi, I am experimenting with XML-RPC. I have the following server script (python): from SimpleXMLRPCServer import SimpleXMLRPCServer server = SimpleXMLRPCServer(('localhost', 9000)) def return_input(someinput): return someinput server.register_function(return_input) try: print 'ctrl-c to stop server' server.serve_forever() except KeyboardInterrupt: print 'stopping' and the following client script: import xmlrpclib server = xmlrpclib.ServerProxy('http://www.example.com/pathto/xmlrpcTester2.py') print server.return_input('some input') I have tested this locally and it works fine. All it does it spit out the input fron the client script, which is right.
