  Hi Everyone As everybody knows the en-US Keyboard-layout is the best one for programming. So I'd like to use it in my IDEs. But since I live in a non-en-US country I need the de-CH layout for all other applications. Now I wonder if it is possible to set the layout depending to which application currently has the focus. • Has anyone had trouble with Intellisense in Visual Studio when using UltraVNC?

  Hi, a colleague and I are trying pair programming for the first time. We both remote into a development machine; I'm using RemoteDesktop and my colleague is using UltraVNC. This works great except that he can't see the Intellisense dropdown in Visual Studio 2008. According to online posts, this may be something to do with DirectDraw, but I don't see much by way of a workaround. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Andrew

  Herlihy and Shavit's book (The Art of Multiprocessor Programming) solution to memory reclamation uses Java's AtomicStampedReference<T>;. To write one in C++ for the x86_64 I imagine requires at least a 12 byte swap operation - 8 for a 64bit pointer and 4 for the int. Is there x86 hardware support for this and if not, any pointers on how to do wait-free memory reclamation without it?

  I have a friend who is trying to make the switch to Linux, but is hung up on the apparent lack of debugging/IDE environments for C++, especially as they relate to template programming. He has been using visual studio for years and is maybe a little spoiled by their awesome IDE. Does anyone have any good suggestions for an environment where he can, under Linux, develop and debug with all of the usual things (Breakpoints, line highlighting for compilation errors, step in/over/out/etc, etc) that he's accustomed to? • UIWebView doesn't scroll to the bottom of the webpage loaded/created

  I have a UIWebView inside a normal UIViewController. The content of the UIWebView is programming/dynamically created in my program, and it could be very long (multiple table rows). Somehow, after loading, the page won't scroll more then one and half screen of content when swipe on the screen. Because of that I can only see the beginning few rows of data, but not the many others after them. Why is that?

• Is it common practice to put keywords in html markup for SEO?

  Though it's on the edge of programming questions, I think this is still relevant here, as only those of us actually doing the coding for a site would be considering this. I've been reading more about keyword placement, and it seems to me like a good place to do keyword placement would be in the class and id names chosen for the elements they are representing. I'm not talking about any kind of black-hat keyword stuffing thing but real legitimate use of descriptive keywords for elements. Is this something that is actively done for SEO?
