I'm trying to write small website that can stream audio online(radio station) and got few questions:
1. Do i have to index all my music files into database, or i can randomily pick file from file system and play it.
2. When should i use ajax to load new song(right after last finished, or few seconds before to get responce from server with link to file?)
3. Is it worth to use ajax, or better make list, that will play its full time and then start over?
I have an ASP.Net webpage where the user selects a row for editing. I want to use the row lock on that row and once the user finishes the editing and updates another user can edit that row i.e. How can I use rowlock so that only one user can edit a row?
Thank you
Hi there,
my actual problem is that .live() jQuery method is not working.
This si the code where i use it:
jQuery.fn.sb_animateMenuItem = function()
{
var mousehoverColor = '#0089F7';
var duration = 250;
return this.each(function()
{
var originalColor = $(this).css('background-color');
$(this).live('mouseover', function()
{
this.style.cursor = 'pointer';
$(this).animate().stop();
$(this).animate(
{
backgroundColor: mousehoverColor
}, duration);
});
$(this).live('mouseout', function()
{
this.style.cursor = 'default';
$(this).animate(
{
backgroundColor: originalColor
}, duration);
});
});
};
This snipped is used i another page in this way:
<script type="text/javascript" src="ui/js/jquery-1.4.2.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="ui/js/jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="ui/js/color.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="engine/js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="ui/js/ui.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
// UI effects
$(document).ready(function()
{
$('button').sb_animateButton();
$('input').sb_animateInput();
$('.top_menu_item').sb_animateMenuItem();
$('.top_menu_item_right').sb_animateMenuItem();
$('.left_menu_item').sb_animateMenuItem();
});
</script>
Since my site uses AJAX requests i used the .live method in the first snippet, but when i load the page the effects are not applied the the button/input... tags.
If i remove the .live method and use the 'normal' way, ui effects defined in the first snipped are applied but only the the elements loaded before any AJAX request. The elements loaded after the ajax request are not affected by first snippet (though they have the same selector).
Thanks for helping.
Hello,
I was wondering what would be the best way to implement some kind of "drag n drop" user interface?
What i mean is that there would be one main page and every link click (eg. other sections like about, gallery, contact form) would open a new drag n drop element on top of that main page. Something like windows desktop where you can move your application windows around the screen.
Would it be best to call different functions with AJAX when a link is clicked? Like "gallery" link would call gallery-function and retrieve dynamically generated contents of that "window" with AJAX call and then just load that stuff on some div?
Or would some other type of approach suit better for this?
I hope I was able to explain this clearly enough. I'm looking for a proper "design pattern" to implement this. All suggestions are wellcome! :)
I have 5 list items that act like tabs for a page stored in a Masterpage in a asp.net application. When the user selects a list item, I would like to redirect the the page, and change the class for that list item (tab) to show the active tab the user is on. What is the best way to dynamically change the class of the list item based on the user interaction with them, and maintain the state?

I'm using Google-hosted jQuery and jQueryUI, but I'm wondering if there are hosted jQueryUI themes anywhere? I'd like to just point to a hosted CSS file (the same way I do with the hosted JS file), so that I don't have to worry about setting up directories for the widget images or the CSS files or anything like that.
Update
I've found this, referenced by the jqueryui.com source code:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.2/themes/ui-lightness/jquery-ui.css" type="text/css" media="all" />
Substituting the name of other themes from the themeroller page seems to work, but I'd love it if someone could find where on Google they list all the available themes that they are hosting. I'm not finding anything about this (maybe it is very recent?).
I need to implement an "autosuggest" feature on our site but it needs to re-query the on every keystroke after a certain number of keys (like every character after 2 it would need to query again). So the result isn't a limiting search. For example, the autocomplete plugins I've seen work like the following:
[looking for a county]
1. customer types 'CA' and the first result would return 'Canada', 'Cambodia', and 'Camaroon'
2. customer continues to type and hits 'M' the new results would query within the only the existing 3 results (producing results of just 'Cambodia' and 'Camaroon')
I need a solution that would be the equivalent of querying my datasource on each keystroke. I already have the ajax call that will return my results based on the "typed" params. For example (in the above example), it would need to make an ajax call passing 'ca' first and if the customer kept typing passing 'can' on the 3 character and so forth.
Thanks.
After much experimenting and googling, the following Python code successfully calls Google's Search APi - but only returns 4 results: after reading the Google Search API docs, I thought the 'start=' would return additional results: but this not happen.
Can anyone give pointers? Thanks.
Python code:
/usr/bin/python
import urllib
import simplejson
query = urllib.urlencode({'q' : 'site:example.com'})
url = 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/search/web?v=1.0&%s&start=50' \
% (query)
search_results = urllib.urlopen(url)
json = simplejson.loads(search_results.read())
results = json['responseData']['results']
for i in results:
print i['title'] + ": " + i['url']
Hi,
I want to call a webservice using jQuery.ajax() but the webervice doesn't get called. - If I change the url: to reference a .ashz file it gets called but not .asmx?
Here's the code I'm using:
jQuery.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "/services/CheckUsername.asmx/CheckUsername", // this doesn't get called
//url: "/services/CheckUsername.ashx/ProcessRequest", this gets called
data: '{ "context": "' + "username" + '"}',
contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8',
dataType: 'json',
success: function (msg) {
alert("Result: " + msg);
},
error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) {
alert("Error: " + textStatus)
}
The .ashz file gets called but a parsererror is retuned because it's returning http context - how can I modify this to get a string return type from a webservice?
Thanks,
I have a Windows 2008 server with two IP addresses assigned to a single NIC. The DNS settings are setup to register the connections's addresses on the DNS server. nslookup shows both IP addresses for the server name. How is name resolution done in this case, i.e. which IP address does the DNS server return for a host lookup? Or does it return both, and the client selects one of the addresses?
I tried to use this code:
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<style type="text/css">
div {display: none}
</style>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.radio1').click(function () {
$('.div1').show();
});
$('.radio2').click(function () {
$('.div2').show();
});
</script>
<label><input type="radio" name="group1" class="radio1"></label>
<label><input type="radio" name="group1" class="radio2"></label>
<div class="div1">Radio1 selected !</div>
<div class="div2">Radio2 selected !</div>
But when I check any radio then notthing happens.
I tried with Fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/Ac9c4/
and same no results
Any idea?
I'm currently using jquery's ajax feature or whatever they call it. To load data from mysql database. Its working fine, but one of the built in features of this one is to load all the data which is on the database when you press on backspace and there's no character left on the text box.
Here's my query:
SELECT * FROM prod_table WHERE QTYHAND>0 AND PRODUCT LIKE '$prod%' OR P_DESC LIKE '$desc%' OR CATEGORY LIKE '$cat%'
As you can see I only want to load the products which has greater than 0 quantity on hand.
I'm using this code to communicate to the php file which has the query on it:
$('#inp').keyup(function(){
var inpval=$('#inp').val();
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
data: ({p : inpval}),
url: 'querys.php',
success: function(data) {
$('.result').html(data);
}
});
});
Is it possible to also filter the data that it outputs so that when I press on backspace and there's no character left. The only products that's going to display are those with greater than 0 quantity?
I spent some time trying to figure out why this query isn't pulling the results i expected:
SELECT * FROM NGS WHERE ESPSSN NOT IN (SELECT SSN FROM CENSUS)
finally i tried writing the query another way and this ended up getting the expected results:
SELECT * FROM NGS n WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM CENSUS WHERE SSN = n.ESPSSN)
The first query seems more appropriate and "correct". I use "in" and "not in" all the time for similar selects and have never had a problem that i know of.
Hello I have the following code:
if(_deviceSegmentCntrl.selectedSegmentIndex == 0)
{
deviceOne = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"string01"];
}
if(_deviceSegmentCntrl.selectedSegmentIndex == 1)
{
deviceOne = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"string02"];
}
if(_deviceSegmentCntrl.selectedSegmentIndex == 2)
{
deviceOne = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"string03"];
}
NSString *deviceType = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:_deviceSegmentCntrl];
I am wanting to have the NSString output the string the user selects in the segmented control.
How do I append the initWithFormat: so that it reflects the chosen index?

I am using a TabWidget that contains a List in one tab. What I want to do is when a user selects an item, a webview is shown in that tab.
If the user then wants to go back to the list, they would click on the list tab.
I can get the webview up that replaces the whole tabwidget but don't know how to leave the tabs and show a webview.
Any help greatly appreciated
I'm successfully using jeditable to submit via a function using
jQuery.ajax and the async : false option , but am having an issue
aborting if an error is returned.
How can I get the edit box to stay activated and / or revert back to
the original value if there are errors? I'm returning http status
codes.
so something like
async : false .ajax submit here...
if (xhr.status == 200) {
return value;
else {
alert ('returned error');
// keep edit box activated but available for another try, or revert back to original value
}
I tried not returning a value from the function, which keeps the edit
box activated and ready for another submit, but then the ESC key
doesn't work anymore and if I click outside the edit area, the edit
box stays.
Thanks in advance!
I'm using Stripes and I am validating the values of a drop down box to ensure the user selects an option.
On initial load all data is present, but once the validation kicks in the form loses the data that was set up in the action bean on load. This includes the original list I am validating against.
I'm simply using in the jsp, and annotating the field in the action bean as @Validate(required=true).
Am I missing something simple?
Cheers
Hello, I've been trying to put a UIWebView into my app, which is tableview based. When the user selects a row, I want the new xib to load, but this one with a UIWebView on it. From all of the tutorials I've seen, you can only put a UIWebView on the MainView.xib. Can someone please tell me how to put a FUNCTIONING UIWebView somewhere other than the main view? Thanks in advance!!
I have a singleton object that use another object (not singleton), to require some info to server:
var singleton = (function(){
/*_private properties*/
var myRequestManager = new RequestManager(params,
//callbacks
function(){
previewRender(response);
},
function(){
previewError();
}
);
/*_public methods*/
return{
/*make a request*/
previewRequest: function(request){
myRequestManager.require(request); //err:myRequestManager.require is not a func
},
previewRender: function(response){
//do something
},
previewError: function(){
//manage error
}
};
}());
This is the 'class' that make the request to the server
function RequestManager(params, success, error){
//create an ajax manager
this.param = params;
this._success = success; //callbacks
this._error = error;
}
RequestManager.prototype = {
require: function(text){
//make an ajax request
},
otherFunc: function(){
//do other things
}
}
The problem is that i can't call myRequestManager.require from inside singleton object. Firebug consolle says: "myRequestManager.require is not a function", but i don't understand where the problem is.
Is there a better solution for implement this situation?
Hi,
i have this page.

You can see two selects in the filter for which i have this rule in gente.css:
td.select label{
margin-left:12px;
}
The problem: the rule is applied but doesn't appear in the Style tab of Firebug.

Hi,
I want to create content type with multiple ListBox's which populate dynamically depending on the previous.
E.x. If user selects the continent the next list box shows the list of countries present in the continent .
