  • Python style: multiple-line conditions in IFs

    Hello, Sometimes I break long conditions in IFs to several lines. The most obvious way to do this is: if (cond1 == 'val1' and cond2 == 'val2' and cond3 == 'val3' and cond4 == 'val4'): do_something Isn't very very appealing visually, because the action blends with the conditions. However, it is the natural way using correct Python indentation of 4 spaces. Edit: By the way, for the moment I'm using: if ( cond1 == 'val1' and cond2 == 'val2' and cond3 == 'val3' and cond4 == 'val4'): do_something Not very pretty, I know :-) Can you recommend an alternative way ?

  • Strange(?) Opera Floating

    I have some strange floating behaviour on opera (IE f's up completely different, but that's for later). I'm floating the i-icons to the right. It works nicely on Fx and WebKit, but opera shifts the icons down a bit. Anyone got an idea how this happenes?   • IE6 ignoring active link CSS style

    The CSS active link style is being correctly applied in IE7, FF, and Safari but is not applied IE6. .side_nav a.active { color:#FFFFFF; background-color:#9F1F63; } Interestingly the background color (background-color:#9F1F63;) is being applied in IE6 but not the font color (color:#FFFFFF;) Any ideas on why this is happening and how I can fix it appreciated.   • Internet Explorer not incrementing number for non-sibling <li> elements

    I've got some html that looks like this: <ol> <div> <li>one</li> </div> <div> <li>two</li> </div> <div> <li>three</li> </div> </ol> Which looks like this in Chrome/Firefox: 1. one 2. two 3. three But looks like this in IE: 1. one 1. two 1. three If I change the code so that the li element is the parent of the div element instead of the other way around (so that all the li elements are siblings) IE renders it correctly. Anyone know what causes this or if this is the intended working behavior of IE? Furthermore is one way technically more correct than the other? <div><li></li></div> VS. <li><div></div></li> Thanks, David

  • Building XCode From Command Line Issues (Updating Entitlements file location)

    The first error is a warning for complier 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' I don't know if this is okay and I can just not worry about it. The second tells me that my entitlements file is no longer at that location. I know this and I thought I had correctly updated it in Xcode's info window. This project builds fine in Xcode.   • Make an element visible to the user but invisible to events

    I'm not quite sure how to describe what I'm looking to do, but I'll do my best. At the moment I have a parent <div>, with absolutely positioned child <div>s within it, and I'm tracking the mouse pointer location coordinates relative to the element your mouse is over. At the moment, when I mouse over my child <div>s, I get the mouse location relative to them, but I want the coordinates to be relative the the parent <div> even when mousing over the child elements. So I basically want the child elements to be visible, but transparent to the mousemove, so I want the mousemove to go straight through to the parent element. How would I do this? Do I maybe need to somehow make the parent <div> be in the forground but still have the child <div>s show through? or make a transparent <div> overlay just to get the mouse coordinates?     Hi, Im running into an issue that's really baffleing me. I have a container that I want to apply a background to an postion it in the top right of the browser screen. I need a way to either make the quantifier return a concatenated string of all the occurrences, or, ideally, an array of all the occurrences. Ideally, this should be my output: Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => 42 [1] => 126 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => Hello, world!     What I'm trying to do is create an extension method for the HtmlHelper to create a specific output and associated details like TextBoxFor<. What I want to do is specify the property from the model class as per TextBoxFor<, then an associated controller action and other parameters. So far the signature of the method looks like: public static MvcHtmlString Create<TModel, TProperty, TController>(this HtmlHelper<TModel> htmlHelper, Expression<Func<TModel, TProperty>> expression, Expression<Action<TController>> action, object htmlAttributes) where TController : Controller where TModel : class The issue occurs when I go to call it. In my view if I call it as per the TextBoxFor without specifying the Model type I am able to specify the lambda expression to set the property which it's for, but when I go to specify the action I am unable to. However, when I specify the controller type Html.Create<HomeController>( ... ) I am unable to specify the model property that the control is to be created for. I want to be able to call it like <%= Html.Create(x => x.Title, controller => controller.action, null) %> I've been hitting my head for a few hours now on this issue over the past day, can anyone point me in the right direction?

    I have a pov-ray file, which defines a lot of cylinders and spheres. Sometimes these shapes are defined to have "color@", which makes the povray unrenderable. One solution I've found is to delete the offending cylinders and spheres. So a file that contains this text cylinder { < -0.17623, 0.24511, -0.27947>, < -0.15220, 0.22658, -0.26472>, 0.00716 texture { colorO } } sphere { < -0.00950, 0.00357, 0.00227>, 0.00716 texture { color@ } } cylinder { < -0.00950, 0.00357, 0.00227>, < 0.00327, 0.00169, 0.00108>, 0.00716 texture { color@ } } sphere { < 0.15373, 0.00601, 0.18223>, 0.00716 texture { colorO } } would turn into this text cylinder { < -0.17623, 0.24511, -0.27947>, < -0.15220, 0.22658, -0.26472>, 0.00716 texture { colorO } } sphere { < 0.15373, 0.00601, 0.18223>, 0.00716 texture { colorO } } Is there some way to do this replacement with a shell script?     I am very new to web development. I am currently using tablesorter jquery plugin to create a dynamic table, where the user can add and delete rows. I am having trouble with changing the background color of newly created rows upon clicking. It works fine with rows that are hard coded in html. Here is the relevant code: $(document).ready( function() { $('table.tablesorter td').click( function (event) { $(this).parent('tr').toggleClass('rowclick'); $(this).parent('tr').siblings().removeClass('rowclick'); }); } ) rowclick is a css class here: table.tablesorter tbody tr.rowclick td { background-color: #8dbdd8; } I have tried adding the following to my javascript function that adds a new row: var createClickHandler = function(newrow) { return function(event) { //alert(newrow.cells[0].childNodes[0].data); newrow.toggleClass('rowclick'); newrow.siblings().removeClass('rowclick'); }; } row.onclick = createClickHandler(row); The alert correctly displays the text in the first column of the row when I click the new row.
