  • Scroll table upwards or downwards using up and down button

    I want to create a banner scrolling function for my homepage. I am not too sure of which programming language to use here. I want to code something similar to: http://www.squidfaceandthemeddler.com/. But I want the footer to remain at the same position while the user scroll the table. Is it possible to get that result?   • Zend Framework Internet Explorer images won't display

    I am using Zend Framework and it works fine in Firefox/Safari. In IE I have a problem with images not loading. Say I have an image in my public folder and I have this in my page: <img src="/photos/category/img.jpg" /> Well that works, except when I'm at a URL with a controller like http://www.example.com/controller/action I can see why, but I want a good solution to properly creating these img src links that works across browsers.

    I want to make a textbook where it starts out as a given width/height. Then if users type more then the given amount of space, the textbox expands downward. How do I go about doing this? Do I use css? The basic textbox just displays a scroll bar when users pass the number of rows allow.   • How not to lose focus on a login page

    I have a simple login form with 2 input fields: "username" and "password". "username" field is focused by default. The problem is that when user clicks outside "username" or "password" fields, the focus is gone (it is neither on "username" nor on "password" fields"). How can I force the focus to be on these 2 fields only ? In my case, this is a really annoying behavior, so I really want to do this :) Can I do something like: $("*").focus(function() { if (!$(this).hasClass("my_inputs_class")) { // How to stop the focusing process here ? } }); ?

Then to eliminate this, I create setPartial(), getPartial() and htmlize() for using external .phtml's. This is not the best solution, because partials do not support doctype changing. And I want it to be called right away, not just when the input loses focus. I'm looking for the cleanest and most robust way to do this across all browsers (using jQuery preferably).   • CSS Differences Between IE and FF

    I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking a question that pertains to a project I'm working on. If you view my page here and view it in Firefox and again in Internet Explorer, the width of the main content boxes differs. In Firefox, everything aligns perfectly with the advertisement at the top of the page, but in IE, the width of the content boxes seems to fall short by about 20 or so pixels. My question is obvious by now, but what is causing the width in IE to fall short, and what would a simple solution be? If I happen to be breaking the rules by asking a question that is not generic enough to benefit others, then allow me to rephrase it; what would be the best approach to solving visual differences between browsers? Should I use a separate CSS file for IE, or is there a way to define lines in my CSS file that only get rendered by a specific browser? It would be best if someone could provide me with the necessary CSS to align things properly, but I would be more than happy to learn about how to make the CSS dynamic (if that's possible).     I have an XML file with company data in it, for 30 companies across 8 industries, on a portfolio page. The user has the option to sort this data by Industry, and this XML file will be added to constantly. This sorting is done in my XSL file using <xsl:choose>. Example: <xsl:when test="(invest[@investid='con'])"> <xsl:for-each select="$invest-port/portfolio/company[@industry='Communications']"> <xsl:sort select="name" /> <div class="invest-port-thumb"> <a> <xsl:attribute name="href"> <xsl:value-of select="link" /> </xsl:attribute> </a> </div> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:when> When navigating to an individual company's page, there are "previous" and "next" buttons at the bottom of the window. My issue is that I need these to dynamically link to the previous and next elements from within the XML data that has been sorted. Is this possible? Or is there an easier way to do this? (such as place each company in industry-divided XML files instead of one) Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
