  • getSystemResourceAsStream() returns null

    - by Hitesh Solanki
    Hiii... I want to get the content of properties file into InputStream class object using getSystemResourceAsStream(). I have built the sample code. It works well using main() method,but when i deploy the project and run on the server, properties file path cannot obtained ... so inputstream object store null value. Sample code is here.. public class ReadPropertyFromFile { public static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(ReadPropertyFromFile.class); public static String readProperty(String fileName, String propertyName) { String value = null; try { //fileName = "api.properties"; //propertyName = "api_loginid"; System.out.println("11111111...In the read proprty file....."); // ClassLoader loader = ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader(); InputStream inStream = ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream(fileName); System.out.println("In the read proprty file....."); System.out.println("File Name :" + fileName); System.out.println("instream = "+inStream); Properties prop = new Properties(); try { prop.load(inStream); value = prop.getProperty(propertyName); } catch (Exception e) { logger.warn("Error occured while reading property " + propertyName + " = ", e); return null; } } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Exception = " + e); } return value; } public static void main(String args[]) { System.out.println("prop value = " + ReadPropertyFromFile.readProperty("api.properties", "api_loginid")); } }

  • jQuery selector for option tag value attribute returns null

    - by Ben
    Hello, I am trying to change the selected option in a select dropdown box with jQuery. I have it set so that it finds the hash tag at the end of the URL and based on that hash tag it changes the selected option in the select box. Most of my code is functional, it successfully finds the hash tag and executes the if statement that corresponds with it. However, when it goes to execute the "then" section of the statement when it goes to the selector for the option (which uses an attribute selector based on the value attribute of the option tag) it returns null. If figured this out with firebug, in the console it says that the selector is null. Here is my code: $(document).ready(function() { var $hash = window.location.hash if($hash == "#htmlcss") { $('option[value="HTML/CSS Coding"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#php") { $('option[value="PHP Coding"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#jscript") { $('option[value="Javascript and jQuery Coding"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#improv") { $('option[value="General Website Improvements"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#towp") { $('option[value="Website Conversion to Wordpress"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#wptheme") { $('option[value="Wordpress Theme Design"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#complete") { $('option[value="Complete Website Creation"]').attr("selected","selected") } if($hash == "#server") { $('option[value="Web Server Configuration"]').attr("selected","selected") } }); So to clarify, when I enter in a url that ends in the #php hash tag, for example, the desired action does not occur which would change the "PHP Coding" option to the selected one by using the "selected" html attribute however the selector for the particular option tag returns null. Is there a problem with my syntax or is my code not functioning in the way that I think it should? Thanks very much.

  • TextArea component is null on applicationComplete event

    - by Alan G.
    I have a weird issue (weird because it is specific to one component) with applicationComplete in a fairly simple application. All the UI components are declared in MXML. I can access them all in applicationComplete, but not a spark.components.TextArea component, named taStatus here; it is null in the handler. MXML looks sort of like this (there are lots of other components, but nothing special) <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="710" minHeight="640" applicationComplete="onApplicationComplete(event)" width="710" height="640"> <mx:TabNavigator left="15" right="15" top="15" bottom="340" paddingTop="0"> <s:NavigatorContent label="General" width="100%" height="100%"> <s:Label x="93" y="71" text="Label" id="lblTest"/> </s:NavigatorContent> <s:NavigatorContent label="Status" width="100%" height="100%"> <s:TextArea id="taStatus" width="100%" height="100%" text="Startup." editable="false"/> </s:NavigatorContent> </mx:TabNavigator> <fx:Script source="main.as" /> </s:Application> Here is the handler in main.as protected function onApplicationComplete(event: FlexEvent) : void { lblTest.text = 'abc789'; // OK taStatus.text = 'abc789'; // Fail } TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. So taStatus is null... What is so special about this TextArea?

  • FormsAuthentication authCookie is null only for some users

    - by mbalkema
    I am experiencing a strange problem with asp.net forms authentication. This problem only occurs for 3 users out of 30+ users that have successfully logged in. I am using very basic auth code that I have used many times and have never seen this problem. After the users successfully authenticates and the auth cookie is created, cookie added, and response.redirect to FormsAuthentication.GetRedirect(userid, false) is called. The Application_AuthenticateRequest method in Global.asax is hit. // Extract the forms authentication cookie string cookieName = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName; HttpCookie authCookie = Context.Request.Cookies[cookieName]; if (null == authCookie) { // There is no authentication cookie. return; } So immediately after a "good" cookie is saved and the redirect occurs the cookie is null. I have run the code through the debugger and the cookie is only null on these 3 users. But the cookie looks the same as the cookie for the many users that login successfully. Any ideas? This is standard code that should just work.

  • NHibernate + Cannot insert the value NULL into...

    - by mybrokengnome
    I've got a MS-SQL database with a table created with this code CREATE TABLE [dbo].[portfoliomanager]( [idPortfolioManager] [int] NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY, [name] [varchar](45) NULL ) so that idPortfolioManager is my primary key and also auto-incrementing. Now on my Windows WPF application I'm using NHibernate to help with adding/updating/removing/etc. data from the database. Here is the class that should be connecting to the portfoliomanager table namespace PortfolioManager { [Class(Table="portfoliomanager",NameType=typeof(PortfolioManagerClass))] public class PortfolioManagerClass { [Id(Name = "idPortfolioManager")] [Generator(1, Class = "identity")] public virtual int idPortfolioManager { get; set; } [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Property(Name = "name")] public virtual string name { get; set; } public PortfolioManagerClass() { } } } and some short code to try and insert something PortfolioManagerClass portfolio = new PortfolioManagerClass(); Portfolio.name = "Brad's Portfolios"; The problem is, when I try running this, I get this error: {System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'idPortfolioManager', table 'PortfolioManagementSystem.dbo.portfoliomanager'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated... with an outer exception of {"could not insert: [PortfolioManager.PortfolioManagerClass][SQL: INSERT INTO portfoliomanager (name) VALUES (?); select SCOPE_IDENTITY()]"} I'm hoping this is the last error I'll have to solve with NHibernate just to get it to do something, it's been a long process. Just as a note, I've also tried setting Class="native" and unsaved-value="0" with the same error. Thanks! Edit: Ok removing the 1, from Generator actually allows the program to run (not sure why that was even in the samples I was looking at) but it actually doesn't get added to the database. I logged in to the server and ran the sql server profiler tool and I never see the connection coming through or the SQL its trying to run, but NHibernate isn't throwing an error anymore. Starting to think it would be easier to just write SQL statements myself :(

  • JSP Iterating over a map of a list when the value might be null

    - by Brian Hoover
    How do I clear the value from the stack of a s:iterator? I'm trying to iterator over a TreeMultimap with a structure like: TreeMultimap<person, lineItems> persons; Using something like: <s:iterator value="attendeesForParticipantTypeEvents.asMap()"> <div> <s:property value="key.name" /><br /> <s:iterator id="currentSku" value="value"> <s:property value="currentSku.name" /><br /> </s:iterator> </div> </s:iterator> This works fine, except when the treeMultimap has null for lineItems, then it's taking the value from the previous iteration. So, a structure like: persons = {{"Person1",["Line1","line2"]}, {"Person2",["Line3","line4"]}, {"Person2",null}} Renders as: <div> Person1<br /> Line1<br /> Line2<br /> </div> <div> Person2<br /> Line3<br /> Line4<br /> </div> <div> Person3<br /> Line3<br /> Line4<br /> </div> Which seems to indicate that the value isn't being cleared on each iterator. What do I need to do to handle the case where value might be null? Thanks for your help

  • nullable bool is being passed to the controller null all the time regardless of the value

    - by user1807954
    I'm trying to pass a nullable bool to my controller. But when I pass the bool value from my view to the controller, it's being passed null all the time regardless of the value it has in my view. Here is my view: @model Cars.Models.Car @using (Html.BeginForm("Index", "Home", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "CategoryFormID"})) { <label>Convertible:</label> <input type="checkbox" id="ConvertibleID" name="convertible"/> <button type="submit" name="submit" value="search" id="SubmitID">Search</button> } And my controller: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(bool? convertible){ var cars = from d in db.Car select d; if (convertible.HasValue) { cars = cars.Where(x => x.Convertible == convertible); } return View("SearchResult", cars); } I also have other fields such as drop down lists and text fields, but they're being passed flawless. Any help would be really appreciated. Update: Thank you for your fast responds. However, I did try giving it a value="True" as you guys suggested. There is only 2 options now: null and true. But my intention is to use nullable bool to have three options: null (when user doesn't touch the checkbox), true(checked) and false(unchecked). I know it sounds not smart and silly, but I'm just trying to figure out how nullable bool is working, and what is the intention of having such a thing in C# (I'm new with C#). I was wondering if it is possible to do so with just checkbox and without the use of dropdownlist or radio buttons.

  • NOT LIKE not working on comparison to a column

    - by rodling
    Data is fairly large and takes few minutes to run it every time, so its taking a lot of time debugging this problem. When I run like concat('%',T.item,'%') on smaller data it seems to identify items properly. However, when I run it on the main DB (the code shown), it still shows many(maybe even all) of the exceptions. EDIT: it seems when i add NOT it stops identifying items select distinct T.comment from (select comment, source, item from data, non_informative where ticker != "O" and source != 7 and source != 6) as T where T.comment not like concat('%',T.item,'%') order by T.comment; comment and source are in data, item is in non_informative Some items from T.item: 'Stock Analysis -', '#InsideTrades', 'IIROC Trade' Example comment which should be removed '#InsideTrades #4 | MACNAB CRAIG (Director,Officer,Chief Executive Officer): Filed Form 4 for $NNN (NATIONAL RETA' Can't seem to figure out it why shows all the items

  • My java program seems to be skipping over the try{}, executing the catch{} and then throwing a NullPointerException. What should I do?

    - by Matt Bolopue
    I am writing a program that calculates the number of words, syllables, and sentences in any given text file. I don't need help finding those numbers, however my program (which currently should only find the number of words in the text file) will not import the text file even when I type in the name of the file correctly. The text file is in the same folder as the source code. Instead it tells me every time that what I typed in has the wrong file extension (see my catch{}) and then proceeds to throw a null pointer. I am at a loss for what could be causing it. Any suggestions? import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class Reading_Lvl_Calc { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub int words = 0; String fileName; Scanner scan; Scanner keyread = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Please enter a file name (or QUIT to exit)"); fileName = keyread.nextLine(); File doc = new File(fileName); //while(scan.equals(null)){ try { scan = new Scanner(doc); } catch(Exception e) { if(fileName.substring(fileName.indexOf(".")) != ".txt") System.out.println("I'm sorry, the file \"" + fileName + "\" has an invalid file extension."); else System.out.println("I am sorry, the file \"" + fileName + " \" cannot be found.\n The file must be in the same directory as this program"); scan = null; } // } while(scan.hasNext()){ words++; scan.next(); } System.out.println(words); } }

  • Passing null child object from parent object to a partial view

    - by Mike
    I have an object which contains models for my ASP.NET MVC web app. The Model that is being passed into the view has sub models for "gadgets" on that particular view. Each of these sub models gets passed to a partial view (gadget). The problem is when I have a null model in the view model. See example below. View Model: public class FooBarHolder() { public FooBar1 FooBar1 { get; set; } public FooBar2 FooBar2 { get; set; } } We pass FooBarHolder into the view and inside the view we make calls such as <% Html.RenderPartial("Foo", Model.FooBar1); %> <% Html.RenderPartial("Foo2", Model.FooBar2); %> Now say for instance that Model.FooBar2 was null. What I am experiencing from the strongly typed partial view is an error that says "This view expected a model of type FooBar2 but got a model of type FooBarHolder." Why is this happening instead of just passing in a null?

  • How can this Ambient Context become null?

    - by Mark Seemann
    Can anyone help me explain how TimeProvider.Current can become null in the following class? public abstract class TimeProvider { private static TimeProvider current = DefaultTimeProvider.Instance; public static TimeProvider Current { get { return TimeProvider.current; } set { if (value == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("value"); } TimeProvider.current = value; } } public abstract DateTime UtcNow { get; } public static void ResetToDefault() { TimeProvider.current = DefaultTimeProvider.Instance; } } Observations All unit tests that directly reference TimeProvider also invokes ResetToDefault() in their Fixture Teardown. There is no multithreaded code involved. Once in a while, one of the unit tests fail because TimeProvider.Current is null (NullReferenceException is thrown). This only happens when I run the entire suite, but not when I just run a single unit test, suggesting to me that there is some subtle test interdependence going on. It happens approximately once every five or six test runs. When a failure occurs, it seems to be occuring in the first executed tests that involves TimeProvider.Current. More than one test can fail, but only one fails in a given test run. FWIW, here's the DefaultTimeProvider class as well: public class DefaultTimeProvider : TimeProvider { private readonly static DefaultTimeProvider instance = new DefaultTimeProvider(); private DefaultTimeProvider() { } public override DateTime UtcNow { get { return DateTime.UtcNow; } } public static DefaultTimeProvider Instance { get { return DefaultTimeProvider.instance; } } } I suspect that there's some subtle interplay going on with static initialization where the runtime is actually allowed to access TimeProvider.Current before all static initialization has finished, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Any help is appreciated.

  • What does "Select Distinct Null As xxxxx" mean?

    - by Soylent Green
    Background: I am mapping Sybase stored procedure return values to java objects using Spring. For example I map a Sybase datatype of varchar as a String type in Java, and a Sybase datatype of int as an int type in Java, etc. I have come across the following code in one of the stored procedures: SELECT DISTINCT A.Col1 AS val1, A.Col2 AS val2, NULL AS someVal, A.col3 AS val3, ... A.col9 AS val9 FROM #SomeTable A ORDER BY Col2, Col3 I have 2 related questions: What does Null mean in this scenario? I am confused as to what is happening here. I am able to determine the data type of Col1, Col2, etc. of course by looking at the table definition of Table A defined earlier in the stored procedure. Thus I know what datatype I can define in my Java object for val1, val2, etc.. But what about "someVal"? What datatype mapping am I supposed to perform for this Null value? I am fairly inexperienced in SQL. Perhaps the answer is much simpler than I realize.

  • Google Adword not working /conversion.js not found

    - by Jed
    I'm currently working on a wordpress site. My task is just to add the conversion script in a thankyou page. I added the script here: http://www.livingedge.co.nz/thanks-for-getting-in-touch/ , unfortunately does not work. It says that a conversion.js was not found. See the attached screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/52ixQUzHKNxZ I added the conversion script on the footer put it in a conditional so that it will load only on the thakyoupage. I'm new to this and can't figure out what would be the possible cause of such problem. I tried adding the script in the header, on the page editor, on a form redirect. Q: What could be the possible cause of this issue?

  • Greasemonkey @require jQuery not working "Component not available"

    - by Greg K
    I've seen the other question on here about loading jQuery in a Greasemonkey. Having tried that method, with this require statement inside my ==UserScript== tags: // @require http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js I still get the following error message in Firefox's error console: Error: Component is not available Source File: file:///Users/greg/Library/Application%20Support/ Firefox/Profiles/xo9xhovo.default/gm_scripts/myscript/jquerymin.js Line: 36 This stops my greasemonkey code from running. I've made sure I included the @require for jQuery and saved my js file before installing it, as required files are only loaded on installation. Code: // ==UserScript== // @name My Script // @namespace http://www.google.com // @description My test script // @include http://www.google.com // @require http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js // ==/UserScript== GM_log("Hello"); I have Greasemonkey 0.8.20091209.4 installed on Firefox 3.5.7 on my Macbook Pro, Leopard (10.5.8). I've cleared my cache (except cookies) and have disabled all other plugins except Flashblock 1.5.11.2, Web Developer 1.1.8 and Adblock Plus 1.1.3. My config.xml with my Greasemonkey script installed: <UserScriptConfig> <Script filename="myscript.user.js" name="My Script" namespace="http://www.google.com" description="My test script" enabled="true" basedir="myscript"> <Include>http://www.google.com</Include> <Require filename="jquerymin.js"/> </Script> I can see jquerymin.js sat in the gm_scripts/myscript/ directory. Additionally, is it common for this error to occur in the console when installing a Greasemonkey script? Error: not well-formed Source File: file:///Users/Greg/Documents/myscript.user.js Line: 1, Column: 1 Source Code: // ==UserScript==

  • Casting an object using 'as' returns null: myObject = newObject as MyObject; // null

    - by John Russell
    I am trying to create a custom object in AS3 to pass information to and from a server, which in this case will be Red5. In the below screenshots you will see that I am able to send a request for an object from as3, and receive it successfully from the java server. However, when I try to cast the received object to my defined objectType using 'as', it takes the value of null. It is my understanding that that when using "as" your checking to see if your variable is a member of the specified data type. If the variable is not, then null will be returned. This screenshot illustrates that I am have successfully received my object 'o' from red5 and I am just about to cast it to the (supposedly) identical datatype testObject of LobbyData: However, when testObject = o as LobbyData; runs, it returns null. :( Below you will see my specifications both on the java server and the as3 client. I am confident that both objects are identical in every way, but for some reason flash does not think so. I have been pulling my hair out for a long time, does anyone have any thoughts? AS3 Object: import flash.utils.IDataInput; import flash.utils.IDataOutput; import flash.utils.IExternalizable; import flash.net.registerClassAlias; [Bindable] [RemoteClass(alias = "myLobbyData.LobbyData")] public class LobbyData implements IExternalizable { private var sent:int; // java sentinel private var u:String; // red5 username private var sen:int; // another sentinel? private var ui:int; // fb uid private var fn:String; // fb name private var pic:String; // fb pic private var inb:Boolean; // is in the table? private var t:int; // table number private var s:int; // seat number public function setSent(sent:int):void { this.sent = sent; } public function getSent():int { return sent; } public function setU(u:String):void { this.u = u; } public function getU():String { return u; } public function setSen(sen:int):void { this.sen = sen; } public function getSen():int { return sen; } public function setUi(ui:int):void { this.ui = ui; } public function getUi():int { return ui; } public function setFn(fn:String):void { this.fn = fn; } public function getFn():String { return fn; } public function setPic(pic:String):void { this.pic = pic; } public function getPic():String { return pic; } public function setInb(inb:Boolean):void { this.inb = inb; } public function getInb():Boolean { return inb; } public function setT(t:int):void { this.t = t; } public function getT():int { return t; } public function setS(s:int):void { this.s = s; } public function getS():int { return s; } public function readExternal(input:IDataInput):void { sent = input.readInt(); u = input.readUTF(); sen = input.readInt(); ui = input.readInt(); fn = input.readUTF(); pic = input.readUTF(); inb = input.readBoolean(); t = input.readInt(); s = input.readInt(); } public function writeExternal(output:IDataOutput):void { output.writeInt(sent); output.writeUTF(u); output.writeInt(sen); output.writeInt(ui); output.writeUTF(fn); output.writeUTF(pic); output.writeBoolean(inb); output.writeInt(t); output.writeInt(s); } } Java Object: package myLobbyData; import org.red5.io.amf3.IDataInput; import org.red5.io.amf3.IDataOutput; import org.red5.io.amf3.IExternalizable; public class LobbyData implements IExternalizable { private static final long serialVersionUID = 115280920; private int sent; // java sentinel private String u; // red5 username private int sen; // another sentinel? private int ui; // fb uid private String fn; // fb name private String pic; // fb pic private Boolean inb; // is in the table? private int t; // table number private int s; // seat number public void setSent(int sent) { this.sent = sent; } public int getSent() { return sent; } public void setU(String u) { this.u = u; } public String getU() { return u; } public void setSen(int sen) { this.sen = sen; } public int getSen() { return sen; } public void setUi(int ui) { this.ui = ui; } public int getUi() { return ui; } public void setFn(String fn) { this.fn = fn; } public String getFn() { return fn; } public void setPic(String pic) { this.pic = pic; } public String getPic() { return pic; } public void setInb(Boolean inb) { this.inb = inb; } public Boolean getInb() { return inb; } public void setT(int t) { this.t = t; } public int getT() { return t; } public void setS(int s) { this.s = s; } public int getS() { return s; } @Override public void readExternal(IDataInput input) { sent = input.readInt(); u = input.readUTF(); sen = input.readInt(); ui = input.readInt(); fn = input.readUTF(); pic = input.readUTF(); inb = input.readBoolean(); t = input.readInt(); s = input.readInt(); } @Override public void writeExternal(IDataOutput output) { output.writeInt(sent); output.writeUTF(u); output.writeInt(sen); output.writeInt(ui); output.writeUTF(fn); output.writeUTF(pic); output.writeBoolean(inb); output.writeInt(t); output.writeInt(s); } } AS3 Client: public function refreshRoom(event:Event) { var resp:Responder=new Responder(handleResp,null); ncLobby.call("getLobbyData", resp, null); } public function handleResp(o:Object):void { var testObject:LobbyData=new LobbyData; testObject = o as LobbyData; trace(testObject); } Java Client public LobbyData getLobbyData(String param) { LobbyData lobbyData1 = new LobbyData(); lobbyData1.setSent(5); lobbyData1.setU("lawlcats"); lobbyData1.setSen(5); lobbyData1.setUi(5); lobbyData1.setFn("lulz"); lobbyData1.setPic("lulzagain"); lobbyData1.setInb(true); lobbyData1.setT(5); lobbyData1.setS(5); return lobbyData1; }

  • 406 Not Acceptable error when using Jquery $.post in Firefox but not in Safari or Chrome

    - by jlfenaux
    I'm using Jquery (1.3.2) $.post command to trigger an ajax call to a rails server. The code works great on Safari and on Google Chrome (mac), but when I tried it on Firefox (3.5.7), I got a weird '406 Not Acceptable' error. When I look at the headers, it Firefox indicated that it accepted only ' text/javascript' responses. And the response Content-Type was 'text/html; charset=utf-8'. In Chrome the accepted types were 'application/json, text/javascript, /, text/javascript' and the response Content-Type was 'application/json; charset=utf-8'. I tried to force the content type in rails to 'text/javascript' format.json do render :json => @races.to_json, :content_type => 'text/javascript' end The content type is indeed changed in Chrome, but not in Firefox where it remains 'text/html'. Here is the code I used to trigger the ajax call. $.post( "/locator", params, function(data){...}, "json" ); Is there something I can do to make this work in Firefox? Thanks

  • vs10 not deploying all required files - then not over-writing updated files

    - by justSteve
    I'm in the habit of deploying to alternating folders (/inetpub/wwwroot/mySite & /inetpub/wwwroot/mySite2) so if something unexpected happens with the deploy i can quickly swap back to a previous version just by changing the path in IIS So i was deploying an MVC2 webapp to a empty folder figuring that VS would send up all the files it needs. Not even close. Initially, it didn't even upload a couple required nHibernate.dlls. Later, after manually copying files referenced in the thrown exceptions, i just copied all the files from the previous compile and then re-published over the top expecting VS to over-write the changed files. Failed that too. No reports of errors by VS....just failed to over-write a number of pre-existing (but changed/updated) files. Hard to believe these kinds of errors (and lack of feedback that errors were encountered) in a state of the art tool like VS. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong. I'm using VisualSVN for source control and connect to my colocated server via a VPN-based mapped network drive (so I can use FileSystem to publish). (both of which can complicate file properties) VS08 had more choices for which files it would send up - i found i needed to use the 'All files in source' on an initial deployment, the 'Replace Matching'. If I choose 'delete all existing...' I'd be back to square 1 and have to deploy with the 'All files in source project folder'. But VS10 doesn't have the 'All files in source project folder. I ended up manually copying the files - which seems not right in the extreme. Are these known issues others have to deal with? What's best practice for deploying a web-app? thx

  • TypeError: Error #1009 - (Null reference error) With Flash.

    - by Wind Chimez
    I am not an expert in flash, but i do work with AS and tweak Flash projects , though not having deep expertise in it. Currently i need to revamp a flash website done by one another guy, and the code base given to me, upon execution is throwing the following error. "--- TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/__setProp_ContactOutP1_ContactOut_Contents_0() at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() --" The structure of the project is like, it has the different sections split into different movie clips. There is no single main timeline, but click actions on different areas of seperate movie clips will take them between one another. All the AS logic of event handling are written inline in FLA , no seperate Document class exists. Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code. I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it. I really got stuck at this point. Any help will be great.I had not seen the particular solution i am looking for anywhere yet, though Error #1009 is common. I uploaded the fla, here ( http://tinyurl.com/249e95p ), for reference.It may not be working , since the included/refered video files and all are not there, but reviwing the action code/movie clips will be possible. Please let me know if somebody will be able to trace the issue exactly.
