  • Rails: i would need to load a haml file in a class and render in the caller

    I have this: app/modules/grid_module.rb app/modules/grid.html.haml then in my view: app/views/layouts/default.html.haml I want to make a new instance of the grid_module and render it content. Its content is into the grid.html.haml and this file can only use the instance vars set in the grid_module.rb is this possible to do? (the grid name is just an example, it must be more flexible, to load the html.haml file based on the .rb class) the grid_module must has access to models too* like this: User.find_by_id(4) thanks for help

    Hi, if i wanted to create a mobile friendly version of a relatively small website would it be better to have a sub domain that redirects to a completely new url with sperate markup and styling or would it be better to detect the useragent in code and programatically change to a different mobile friendly stylesheet, or is their a better infrastructure based solution i am overlooking..   • Speech recognition webservice that scores the accuracy of one audio clips vs. another?

    Does such a thing exist? Building a Rails based web application where users can upload an audio file of them speaking that then needs to be compared to another audio file for the purposes of determining how similar to voices are. Ideally I'd like to simply get a response that gives me a score of how similar they are in terms of percentage (e.g. 75% similar etc...). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

  • using 2 different jquery releases on the same page

    I am using this jquery plugin for a carousel controller http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/, it is based on jquery release 1.2.1 I also need to have tabs on the page, but when including the current jquery release in the page, the carousel stops working. Is there a way to have them both live together on the same page, or is there a way to have tabs work under realease 1.2.1? I rather not rebuild the carousel on another plugin, since this one is already skinned and works just as needed.

But for multiple users, log file cannot be read easily.     I've encountered a situation where it would be very helpful to know the breakdown of shell use by percentage. For example, I'm looking for something like bash: X%, sh: Y%, csh, tcsh, zsh, ksh, dash, etc.. Obviously, I know there are several complications - multiple shells, the definition of "use", uncertainty and so forth, but I would like to see an informed answer derived from actual data and based on some stated metric, even if the result could be horribly wrong. Bonus if there is historical data demonstrating a shift in preferences.

  • how to get around the command line length limit

    I've been working on a small and simple program that i drop files onto and based on certian rules they are moved to diffrent places. the program works fine unless i drop more than a few files on the program then it kicks back an error (that appears to be more windows than anything) that the start up command c:\myapp.exe \file \file \file is to long I realize i could set up a background proccess but i really would prefer that this program not run in the backround (where it would be idle 99.999999999% of the time) Can anyone think of any way around this limitation?
