    Hi guys, Can any one help me how to sort rows by relevance for the following criterion ? tbluser First Name Last Name tbleduc School College University On the search form the user has following fields Name School College University Where School College and University are Optional.. And Name is split into 2 words (other words in middle are omitted), first word is taken as first anme and last word as last name.. Now I would like to implement search based on relevance.     I want to copy a large a ram-based file (located at /dev/shm direcotry) to local disk, is there some way for an efficient copy instead of read char one by one or create another piece memory?     hi, i am trying to improve the layout for my game. the problem is that while i can create a good layout for one android phone, it doesn't work for another, ie the trackball for MyTouch is on the right side (landscape mode), but for the MyCliq, the DPad is on the left side. is there a way to programmatically set the layout based on which phone it is? thanks.

    I've encountered a situation where it would be very helpful to know the breakdown of shell use by percentage. For example, I'm looking for something like bash: X%, sh: Y%, csh, tcsh, zsh, ksh, dash, etc.. Obviously, I know there are several complications - multiple shells, the definition of "use", uncertainty and so forth, but I would like to see an informed answer derived from actual data and based on some stated metric, even if the result could be horribly wrong. Bonus if there is historical data demonstrating a shift in preferences.

  • Rails: i would need to load a haml file in a class and render in the caller

    I have this: app/modules/grid_module.rb app/modules/grid.html.haml then in my view: app/views/layouts/default.html.haml I want to make a new instance of the grid_module and render it content. Its content is into the grid.html.haml and this file can only use the instance vars set in the grid_module.rb is this possible to do? (the grid name is just an example, it must be more flexible, to load the html.haml file based on the .rb class) the grid_module must has access to models too* like this: User.find_by_id(4) thanks for help

    I'd like to measure to distinct user experience points during the rendering of an HTML page: 1) Point which user sees the first painting of the page 2) Point at which user can interact with the page - meaning sees 75% of it or can actually register a button click or link click I am pretty certain these UX interactions can start before the HTML code is fully rendered, so would that instance be the JS func "OnLoad" or some other distinct measureable value/function? If it helps, we can even narrow the answer down to webkit based browsers.

  • Has anyone ever worked with a UX designer who also did the graphic design, is it a good combination?

    I need to design a new framework for web based apps, including both UX guidelines and the art/graphic design guidelines such as what menus will look like, headers, colors, fonts etc. The UX designers I met, were unable to provide the artistic side, and the graphic designers didn't have the UX skills. Should I continue to look for one person with both skills, or is it better broken to two separate tasks?

    No, I'm not talking about making a slideshow of pictures. How can I make the actual file that windows (at least windows 7) uses for screensavers? It is a .scr format, and when I opened it in Notepad, I got a bunch of symbols, with a few words scattered throughout, but that was expected. It looks like it was made with directx, xml, and even assembly (for the shaders) based on the recognizable code there. I just went on to a site-hosting place and made this: Link to ribbons.scr code

  • I need a dictionary-like mapping between characters and other kinds of objects. Which class would be

    This is in Squeak/Pharo. If I want to have a mapping between Character objects like $a and $b to other kinds of objects, and want to look up those other objects based on the Character, what is the best class to use? Dictionary is an obvious choice, but seems wasteful to be hashing character objects which are basically already numbers. I guess what I want is a kind of array where the character value (number) is used as an index/offset, but I am not sure if this is possible with Unicode.

  • Sort std::vector by an element inside?

    I currently have a std::vector which holds std::vector of double. I'd want to sort it by the second element of the double vectore. ex: instead of sorting by MyVec[0] or myvec[1] I wat it to sort myVec[0] and myvec[1] based on myvec[0][1] myvec[1][1]. Basically sort by a contained value, not the objects in it. so if myvec[0][1] is less than myvec[1][1] then myvec[0] and myvec[1] will swap. Thanks

However when I add this new component to my module it doesn't seem to inherit the designs that were exported from catalyst. Any idea how i can do that?     Due to some restrictions I am being forced to load a library written in C at runtime. A third party provides two library to me as static archives which we turn into shared objects. The application I'm working with loads one of the libraries at runtime based on some hardware parameters. Unfortunately one of the libraries is configured largely with global variables. I am already using dlsym to load function references but can I used dlsym to load references to these global variables as well?

Now, people at work, which may not be HTML savvy, will be creating new articles and then posting them to this knowledge base.
